Before I ship out to Boot camp next October I really want try my hand at film and I want to start a music project. do I have what it takes? let the criticism flow like the putrid venom filled river styx

Make what you want to make. That's really the best advice for things like this. If you lose that, you'll end up like Michael Bay.

I want a band, i envision it to be a 5 piece
1 vocal
2 guitar
1 bass
1 drum
called "the spooky kidds" or "I do believe in spooks"
we would play thrash metal/metalcore
NG do you still draw?

Yes, I haven't kept anything. My waste basket is usually filled with white paper that I crumpled up after drawing on it because I hate it.

we both have plenty of pent up emotions althought yours towers over mine unfortunately. I want this band to ooze anger & sadness but not in a emo way rather it should strong & aggresive
if you could start some band artwork thatd be great. when i say "I do believe in spooks" I cant get the image of a sinister jack 'O lantern that wont leave.

I think he's trying to say that he wants to be the new Radiohead or Beck (if you will) or Queen.
Musician first, emotions will come through if you let it. Ask Santana.
Plus you know damn well emo bands are in it for the fame. As much as they deny it, you know it to be true.

Queen has so many more emotions than anger and sadness, they were explorers.
And yes, those emo bands live only for fame, literally.
