Gion looked from Mia to Yue to Donovan, and the expression on his face was curious and puzzled.
So ... Elnara's being courted? he signed, wanting to make sure of what he was hearing.

"In a sense...." Triton began thinking about it for a moment, "Yes, she's being courted."
Well they were in the courting process he supposed, he didn't know much about dating or courting for that matter. Had never been on the receiving side of it and friendship and that kind of mate relationship was interwine most of the time in the family.
Quite frankly the last three pair ups in his family among his siblings were bad examples.

Gion beamed. That was excellent news! It meant that not only was she accepting the new world where she was living, but that the new world was accepting her, as well.
What's he like? he signed, eager to hear more.
Then, as he listened for the answer, he continued to pack his bag.

"Uhm..." Triton thought about it.
He had met Lore only for a few times, but there were a few things he gleaned from the man's personality. Though it could have changed by now since he had met Elnara.
"He likes books a lot," Triton replied thoughtfully, "Given his job I'm not surprised though. Soft spoken, a bit shy."
Donovan seemed to know why but the man wasn't divuging any facts at this point, only that he didn't mind the elf at all.
"He does well with children, and seems to know quite a bit."
For all Triton knew though that could be from long living.

Gion nodded slowly, but he wasn't really satisfied. He knew he was being like Elrohir at the moment, but he wanted to know about the man who was courting his sister.
Scratch that, he wanted to meet him.
How does he treat her? he signed slowly, anxiously.
Odd though it seemed, he was feeling rather big-brotherly now, defensive of her. Perhaps it was because she was in another world and more than anything he just wanted her to be safe and happy.

Triton blinked for a moment, well that was a loaded question since he was rarely there when the two were together. Made him wish he spent more time at the cafe.
"He treats her well, from what I've seen," Triton replied thoughtfully, "He tries to help when he can. Lore's taken up teaching Skye, Elnara's third child since Elnara seems to have her hands full."
And it seems from what he heard that Lore knows sign language.
"He talks to her a lot, they spend a more time talking than anything else."
He didn't know what else to say on the matter.

Donovan chewed on his fork thoughtfully, he understood what Gion felt. Donovan, while probably not having exactly those same feelings did have his own worries about Lore. (What he wouldn't give to sic Gion on Sasku though.)
He took the fork out of his mouth, "He's an outcast you know, Lore. He spent nearly a century of his life in medicine instead of in a library trying to figure out why his people were giving birth to elves like him. Done a lot of work on the immune system and energy viruses as a result."
He set his fork down on his plate and looked seriously at Gion.
"So they're both a bit damaged in the same way, but it gives them a starting point to heal from," he added, "Don't tell your sister I told you that. She has no idea how much about the guy I know and she already was worried I was going to terroize the man."

Gion felt a wave of relief wash over him, and he smiled and signed, You really don't have to worry about me telling her. After all, I can't even see her or talk to her.
He paused, and his eyes looked towards the ceiling. I would ask if I could come and see her in your world, but I can't ... I can't leave Nadya for that long, he signed. He looked back at Donovan. Tell her that we want her to come visit us ... despite what the others did to her, she's not unwelcome here.
Or, apparently, back at the castle, if Elrohir was to be believed.

Triton chuckled and made a note to himself that if Elnara ever deicded to visit home again, he would suggestion Gion and Nadya right away. Hell, he would suggest right off the bat, since he of all people deserved to see his sister again.
"I'll tell her that," Triton promised his friend, "She'll be happy."

"Pity you both can't visit," Donovan replied back.
That and he knew the sword was going to be left with Gion, he didn't know much about magical swords to know what would happen if they took that one away from him. Perhaps he and Kara could find a way to visit, at least to see Daemon.
He wasn't taking his father though, he might just commiment murder if he was to travel with Long.

"We'll visit!" Mia added as she finished off her breakfast, "We have to visit you, and Nadya and grandfather of course. You will bring him when Mother finally decides to have a wedding."
It never occured to her though that the man asked, but she didn't care about that.
"Mia!" Yue exclaimed, resisting the urge to whack himself on the forehead, "You don't talk about those things now."
Especially when some have a bit of trouble wrapping their heads around the time difference, not that he knew how Gion took the time difference.
"But it's true, Helen said the father as to be there."

Gion chuckled. The child had a point - though it did raise questions. He didn't know his sister very well, but he was fairly certain, from what little he did know of her, that she would - if she got married - want a proper wedding, and - Gion hoped - in this world.
And traditionally, Mia was right, her father should be there.
But their father was dead. So who would stand up with Elnara, when the time came?
But if Daemon had to be present at Kara's wedding (or even if he didn't, Gion knew he would want to be, and he wanted his friend to be able to be, even if he hadn't returned to his human body yet), then yes, he and Nadya would definitely come to Gaia.

Laer smiled at Mia. "The father isn't always present," she told the child softly. "It's always wonderful when it's possible, but ... sometimes it's just not. Lex's father wasn't at all present at our wedding, and Gion's father won't be at his ... or at any of his siblings'."
And then there were the non-ceremonial weddings, where really no one but the bride and groom needed to be present at all.

Mia thought about this, the concept didn't bother her seeing as she had lived most of her life so far without a father, and even then would not call Donovan her father. Also her siblings married without a father, but to be fair they didn't have a wedding, they were just mated.
"But when it's possible it should be nice."

Donovan shrugged but he nodded in agreement, though he would rather just elope, otherwise his family would have to come. It wasn't that he didn't love them, but he rather not been driven mad.
"So," he mused aloud, "Are we all ready?"
