Ruby St.Claire Ruby glanced up from her pillow, a pleased smile on her face, thoughts of Arch pushing away some of the fears left by the illusions. Sahira noted the chief ignoring her comment, and chuckled inside. It made teasing him that much more amusing. "It frightened me a bit when I first heard it, I couldn't understand what that constant roaring noise was, especially when the breeze was so soft." He shrugged. "You get used to it. I just wish we wern't land-locked here." He leaned back in the pillow, taking another sip.

((heheh, Krovh isn't landlocked...in fact I thought it was an island...I'll have to check again, Phoenix however is landlocked, Union is definitley sea-side though.))
Ruby tilted her head to the side, playing with the necklace between her fingers, and feeling a bit sad that it didn't have any feathers on it. She decided she'd have to change that later. She looked to the cheif, and smiled. "Well since we're delvin' into your past, sugar, as deeply as any ol' snoop, how come a cute fella like you isn't already attatched? Oh, an' I don't believe you've told us your name, obviously you know mine, but can't rightly be callin' you 'chief' the whole time."
Sahira hid a chuckle, apparently Ruby was about as forward as she, in most aspects. It was going to be an interesting evening for the chief to be sure.

"People just call me The Chief. You can always take to Ra's callin' me Onyx. Works as well as anything else." The Chief shrugged. "Haven't had much of time for a woman. Been in one war after another, most of the women I knew were professional."

"Don't like your name?" Ruby asked. "I didn't like mine, so I kinda changed it. But it couldn't be that bad, you kinda look like a Charly, could I call you Charly? An' what do you mean by 'professional'? Are you sayin' you have something against professional women?"
Sahira let out a small laugh. "You're a work-a-holic, I take it. Although looking at Krovh, I'd have to admit anyone willing to take the job of police chief would have to be. Did a good job with the place though, Onyx."

((couldn't be, Union was designed to be off the east coast overlooking the island "Haven", traditionaly I pictured it in Maine. Bah, I'm not going to worry about it at the moment though. The only thing applicable at the moment is Krovh is indeed not in the Ocean, although union most definitley is a coastal city, I've used the Ocean far too much with it to cancel that out now.))

I mean, we've got underground guys popping up, the bus driving to and fro, for all intents and purposes, it may as well be on the ground)) "Got nothin' against professional women, but the relations were professional as well." He shrugged. "Got nothin' against my name, just go by other things. An' thanks, the city was lookin up, till the Bad guy turned on us and locked us down to the HQ under gun fire."

Ruby moved over her pillow and laid out on her stomach, her chin resting on the palm. "So what are you supposed to be doin' here? Just makin' sure I ain't gettin' into more trouble or the like? Why couldn't Arch have just picked me up in the bus, an' taken me with?" She tapped her fingers against the silver necklace with a clipped staccato. "I'm not as useless as he seems to believe."
Sahira shook her head, "that would have been a bad bad thing, the angel showing up to find you with the woman who tried to kill you and left your body in a dumpster. Onyx, I knew at least, and for the most part figured I can take him if necessary. Besides that, Ruby, you and I both know you're not fit to fight anything, not right after what that witch did to your head."

It's partially on the Great Lakes. Union is wherever, but the Enforcers could have, ideally, burowed under the Lakes to get here. Krovh is on Lake Michgan, I think. Meaning Union is a hell of a jog away, but still doable.)) Xeen nodded, pausing for a moment.

"You don't like to kill, and you've said yourself that your powers are most useful for killing. That would basically leave me fighting against a human, unless you take it on yourself to kill me." Sahira's eyelids lowered halfway over her golden eyes. "You don't want to kill me, do you Onyx?"
Ruby looked at him, then to sahira, then back to the Chief. "What kinda powers you got, Charly?"

"I think since were united in this given task, I can refrain from killing you, Ra." The Chief smiled, bending his back over the pillow, looking at Ruby upsidedown.
"The killin' kind."
He rummaged through his pockets, finding a spare key from the old police HQ. Didn't matter what happened to the key now.
He tossed it into the air, the finger tips on his other hand capped with the black mist. A bolt of black lightning shot from the tips, striking the bullet. There was a slight 'pop'ing noise, and the key was gone.
The mist dissipated.
"It can take on different forms, like water, or fire, but they all kill. That's why I don't use it much."
