The second slap on the behind caused Amaya to drop her tray of drinks altogether. This one had stung a bit. Who the hell was going to die? But much to her chagrin, the culprit was none other than her sensei. No doubt she was getting one big kick out of watching them all suffer like this. Amaya couldn't wait to get back on the training feild. Not bothering to bite back the growl in her throat, Amaya went and fetched the broom and dust pan. A change of pace would be great right now. But, duty would call as the bartender signaled that her patrons were getting very impatient. Uttering a silent curse, she left the sweeping for some other Curry Cafe employee to deal with and went to reload on her drink orders.

Hustling over to the table of thirsty curry devourer-ers, Amaya placed all of the orders on the table. Unfortunately, some of the drinks weren't what had been asked for. She did her best to switch the right drink to the right person, and all with a calm and pleasant tone and smile. Despite having gotten mixed up, the patrons didn't give her too hard a time about it and reordered something simpler just so they could get a beverage. Giving them all a polite nod, Amaya left the table to collect the drink requests that had been changed to a plain old glass of water.

Amaya was pretty sure she had lost all sense of time and had been thrown into a world of constant aggravation. The funny thing was, she was actually starting to kind of get use to it. Instead of her blood boiling when someone knocked into her hard enough for her drinks to go toppling over, she would simply take in a deep breath and snort a grunt. That was definitely progress in her book. This was probably one of those situations where you just had to get to a point where it just didn't bother you anymore. She was far from that point, but at least she hadn't killed anyone yet. So when her tray of water cups went crashing to the floor and a bumbling young waiter apologized quickly before scurrying off, Amaya simply grit her teeth and filled all new cups of water. Lifting her cup filled tray, she moved to exit the kitchen and head back out into the hustle and bustle of the busy Cafe, wondering if perhaps she should just start lining up two or three trays of drinks so that when the one she was carrying got destroyed, she could just walk back into the kitchen and pick up the next tray no problem. But that would most likely just be a waste if they didn't end up needing those drinks. Speaking of wasting. How much had she waisted already today? Something told her that her time here at the Curry Cafe was only beginning. And the next round would have nothing to do with patrons and everything to do with payback. Well that was fine with her. Washing dishes all day and night had to be better than what she was stuck with now. At least she wouldn't have to talk to anyone.

((::sigh:: I love dice...)) Though she was pretty sure she could handle dodging the next round of clumsy co-workers and inconsiderate patrons, nothing could prepare her for the most dreaded of kitchen accidents. Just as she used her force to push open the kitchen doors, a worker tried heading into the kitchen using the same door, so it was as if the door was stuck, neither one of them able to push it open. Confused by the suddenly "stuck" door, Amaya stopped for a moment, looking it over. But the waitress on the other side gave the door a second hard shove, knocking it back into Amaya and her tray of waters. Aside from all of the other beverage samples that stained her uniform, she was now soaked in cold water all over again. The events following involved a lot of fowl language, a nearly broken nose and a thourogly pissed Amaya sitting out back to "cool off" by orders of the Chef.
A half hour or so later, Amaya was brought back into the kitchen. There were just too many people to have her sitting outside doing nothing for too long. Her previous table had been taken care of, so she was given two cups of juice to take out to a couple sitting at a table by the front entrance of the establishment. Amaya simply gave a quite nod, using her foot to kick open the kitchen door this time, just incase.

Ryoko, whom up to this point had been moving like a woman possessed, had slowed a bit. A grin swept her lips as she looked to her students. The boys... well the boy's seemed like they were on the verge of a mental meltdown. Especially poor little Reck. He was a fighter, Ryoko knew that, but she also knew that to be a true ninja, he'd need to learn this little life skills. Not all of his missions would be 'go kill this' or 'go break that'. Some would be 'go find out about this' or 'go spy on that'. If he couldn't even handle a simple cafe job, his future in espionage looked bleak.
However, one student seemed to be doing...reasonable well. Ok, she was actually sucking miserably but she seemed to have gotten the hang of it. Ryoko tossed one of her cups over to the bartender and began to skip off after tossing her apron onto the head of a waiter who was skipping out on work. Obviously that brought attention to him.
Ryoko then continued on, skipping right past Amaya and grabbing her by the back of the shirt and going off out of the doorway, "Hold the fort down boys! Come to my house when your done!

Just as Amaya had managed to get both glasses of water to her customers safely, a strong grip snatched her up by the back of her uniform collar. "Ack! Hey!" Nothing more could be said as the poor girl was dragged along and out of the Curry Cafe. Thank the gods...she thought with a grin. Anything sensei had planned for her next couldn't be worse...Right? The young couple that she had brought the tall glasses of water too watched with curiosity as the two young ladies made their exit.

In the curry café, Yokou sat blankly, expression distant, ears not hearing poor Roxanne who asked for the fifth time what her head of family would like to order... Seeing that Yokou was still totally out of it, and that the sleazy men at nearby tables were beginning to whisper...comments that greatly bothered her...Roxanne promptly shot a glare at them, daring them to utter another word. Some mutterings ensued about the customer’s right as king, but at this, Roxanne cracked her knuckles. You don’t mess with a miffed woman on delicate topics, especially not a Hyuuga. “Sake.” Came Yokou’s quiet voice. “Chilled sake, please.”
Roxanne looked surprised. “But Yokou-sama...drinking?!” Ok, something was definitely wrong now... Yokou-sama never liked any type of liquor, why would she be asking...? “Y-yokou-sama...are you...sure...?” Still not even looking at her junior, she merely repeated the order. “Bring one jug of chilled sake, please.” She was...serious...? Nervously, Roxanne left for the kitchens. After a lengthy period of time, she hesitantly returned with a jug of sake. Yokou unscrewed the cork and began pouring herself a cup, and much to Roxanne’s dismay, promptly drained the cup in a gulp. The process repeated, and by the fifth or so shot, Roxanne was honestly worried now. “Yokou-sama, please! This isn’t good for your health...” She took Yokou’s hands, trying to take away the emptied cup. The older Hyuuga’s wince made her stop short... And that’s when she noticed some minor scarring across Yokou’s hands. Huh? But a medic-nin of Yokou’s caliber would’ve been able to easily rid such minor wounding...
Thankfully, at the moment, a much welcome voice filled the café. ”Oi!” Said a certain Nara. “Seating for one please, preferably window - ...? Eh, ‘ello Roxanne-san.” The seating request trailed off into a greeting to his fellow Konoha comrade. Shikamori stopped short though, noticing the worry etched on the young Jounin’s face, before following her shaking hand gestures directed aside...
“Eh...? Yokou-hime, you’re drinking...?” The Nara’s image blurred and in the next moment he was beside the table. “Hey, what happened to all those speeches on temperance? Eh, Yokou...you there?” Shikamori waved a hand in front of her. The blank expression did not change... Huh, tears...? Uh-oh. ”What am I going to do...?” Came the quiet muttering, tears suddenly spilling down her pretty face. Yokou made an effort to wipe them away. “I called sensei a jerk, a manipulative b*****d...even a murderer and assassin... He must hate me right now...”
Eh...damn. What was he supposed to do? Shikamori sighed, patting Yokou on the head. This must be a really odd sight... “Eh...well...” Shikamori tried his best to sound confident. “He probably had it coming! So...um...” This was really...awkward...he probably really shouldn’t ask what was it that Zephyr had done wrong. “Oh, Yokou. Sensei may be an idiot but he won’t blame you for something as trivial as namecalling...” Though honestly...he was surprised. Zephyr must’ve treaded on real danger territory to make Yokou lose her calm like that... ”I knew it wasn’t his fault... Killing that renegade Uchiha family had been a hunter-nin assignment... And...he was so...hurt after that... And Museifu – because he...had murdered...and, even tried to kill you... But still...” More tears spilled. “I was so mad at sensei for saying such things about Michiyo, yet still... How horrible of me...”
Michiyo, huh? A bitter taste rose in his mouth. It would make sense then...considering Yokou’s close relationship to that clan...no, her family’s relationship... Konoha’s shame... For the village’s cruel treatment of that Hyouton family. However...like with Museifu, generally Michiyo was a forbidden topic among them...how the hell had conversation headed there, anyways? Not that he was going to ask...

A soft hum across his lips although it wasn't a happy one. It was a mixed tone of solumn and quiet. He walked into the cafe and looked about slowly. He moved up to the bar and sat there silently sitting quietly.

Yokou hid her face. "Just the same, just the same...when Akane left...when Michiyo was blamed...when Museifu deserted the team... I am weak, unable to do anything...couldn't even protect my loved ones... I shouldn't have said such horrible things to sensei...when to Museifu, I couldn't even raise my hand...even if it was for your sake..." The words came more broken now. "Oh Shikamori, what am I going to do...?" The Nara bent down, took a napkin, and gently began wiping away her tears. "It's alright...it's fine Yokou...cry all you like, just...let it all out..." A soft pause. "With so much pain, during all those years...so much feelings held back...this, I am thankful to Elruda chiisai-hime for..." Gently, he took her into his arms for a brief moment and whispered. "Because you were able to see her again...you are human once more..." He let go. "Sensei had gone through much worse...he'll understand. Oh..."
Shikamori saw Marcus enter the cafe. He bowed once, respectfully to their host. However, had no idea of the promise between the Tsuchikage and Yokou... Pale eyes widened upon noticing just to whom Shikamori had just bowed... "Marcus-san...ah..." Oh, just why did she had to be seen like this...? Yokou took the napkin from Shikamori and furiously rubbed at her tear-stained face...however, Shikamori blocked her way out...so from her seat, she inclined her head to pay her respects to Iwagakure's kage.

Marcus turned just in time ot see that he had been spoted...god why'd it have to be him. Suddenly, that drink seemd like one of the worse ideas he ever had. He took a deep sigh and looked away as she bowed her head. A cold gulp of the liquor ran down his throat.
He soon stood and walked over to the two. He looked to Shikimori but not in the eye and Yokou...he couldn't look at her. It was at this point that he couldn't bare it. A drop to his knee followed his glances and his head lay bowed before the Hyuuga woman. "I offer no excuses or explinations in this matter. Do with me as you would."
He took a deep breath. He had too to keep his voice from drowning out or slinking away.He took one more breath and looked up to her, "I couldn't find him. The Hokage is missing mi'lady...I'm sorry..."

The...kage was alone. Her heart sank, knowing very well what Marcus was referring to. Their...promise that night. Marcus-san is... It would be injustice to say ‘tired’...his whole ambience was nearly polar opposite to the usually confident demeanor only weeks ago... An aura of exhaustion...she could see it...as if he had crossed half the continent in crushed time, after tedious searching...which knowing Marcus’ nature, he probably had...
Almost dumfounded, the fact slowly sank in. He had...went through all of that...for her? Nightmares from another time became reality for a moment more... She, begging Museifu to stop with this madness...that how could he, to his own kin and fellow villagers? Trying all methods to beseech him, that the Mangkeryou would rob all light from his eyes... But her teammate’s words had chilled her: he had done it all for her... that what matters, if he could no longer see...if all the most beautiful things were already robbed from his life...? Oh, why...why did his confession had to be done like that, back then? That time would be the last time she would cry for a long while... Even back then for Elruda, her heart broke under the weight of silent tears...
But unlike then, unlike the knowledge from Museifu’s words to her...and unlike the tearless grief after the invasion of Konoha... Not knowing fully why... Shikamori, almost more in surprise, silently moved out from her way... His position was as a spectator in this...
As she approached Marcus...something about her usually inhuman grace...became more humane...? "Arigatou...arigatou..." Quiet words...'thank-you's' murmured over and over again... And she bent down, whispering two words: "I'm sorry..." A pause. "I'm so sorry..." The quiet tears spilled down her cheeks again.
And posture straightening, as she hid her face again. "I-it's...all my fault...I'm sorry..." Whispered apologies, again and again to Marcus. She was being selfish again...how could she repay Marcus for all he had done...? She willed herself to say the words...oh kami-sama, what had she made the other gone through... "Are........you.......unhurt?"
Her hands reached down this time, for Marcus', to help him up... She was not one to talk about being uninjured, whatever activity had occurred in Iwa...tall-tale scarring, though faint now, were on her hands, contrasting cruelly against once unbroken, perfect skin... Wasn't she supposed to be mourning Akane, to be upset that no trace was discovered...to spite, to be furious...? However, her greater grief...and it was not in her nature to blame others...only blaming herself...

"You have nothing to be sorry about... I took this upon myself if you remember. You didn't ask me and I gave no quarter to you to even fully understand me. I did as I please but came up with no results. As a true ninja should, the Hokage simply vanished." He looked away...a woman crying. It'd be easier if someone just stabbed him. He could take that. Probably grab a drink and dance a jig afteward.
Her tears were worse than any cut or any mark he could have bore. Sure he was a bit sore and worn from the time he spent away but he'd never tell her or anyone else. He knew that his whims had risks and thus he never complained about the end results or the procedures to procure them. To be honest, the only real reason he wore an open shirt right now was to give his body fresh air. When traveling, he had confined himself several times. The weather was horrid on the way up, he has gotten into a few fights for his dinner and he was just overall exhausted.
The smel of food reminded him that he never ate at the ramen shop and was riding on Pegasus for 2 days striaght with nothing in his belly. That wold explain the blured vision and heated body. What a pain...
He soon collapsed on the floor without a word. It all came together at once, he didn't have a chance to fight it off...what a pain...

Whatever remained of her calm was gone... "MARCUS!" Yokou could hardly care for the grimaces of the Iwa customers...how dare this woman, that she address their kage by name and without honorific? Stop panicking...stop panicking... Being physically weak did not help either... Oh, how she wished she had gotten a summoning contract now! Her teammate came to her aid. "I'll carry him. You're in no condition..." Yokou wasn't listening, she was already struggling out the door, Marcus' weight leaning against her own fragile build. "Dammit." The Nara cursed, aloud. "Of all the times, that woman had to be a woman and not a shinobi... She could've at least remembered to Shunshin..." Slapping some money onto the table, not caring that he gave more than was necessary, Shikamori rushed after them.

Shuiro walked through the door to probably one of the best places to eat. The only nice place to eat anyways. Everywhere else was a bar or a vendor's stand or something. Man it smells good in here... Looking around quickly, she walked over to one of the bar stools by the counter and ordered three chicken ramen, a batch of sween buns, and wrapped onigiri, all to go. I wonder if the other two are doing alright... Especially Roy. He seemed totally pissed off. Does me beating him really get on his nerves? He can't win at everything... By the time she got the food in several paper bags, she had asked another waitress to get her a few waters as well. Hmmm... maybe I should... Unwrapping a set of Onigiri she too a pen from the counter and wrote what Etna has whispered to her before. Maybe he would appreciate her help. Then again, he might not even touch the food until after he'd finished. Eventually everything was set and she was on her way again.
