Leo gave a little giggle and rubbed his cheek a little. He knew his brother missed him but it was still nice being able to hear it. "I don't know if the bullet is still in there." he said softly, putting his coat on again. "I think I made the decision to have that surgery after all...it was so nice being able to see that one time. Even if I saw something terrible. I want to be able to see you again Ash. I miss seeing your face."

"In that case, let's hope the eye surgery gets perfected soon," said Asher with a smile. It was still odd that Leo had been able to see again. Maybe there was a trigger, and it would be helpful to find it and allow him to see even if only temporarily. They would worry about that later, though. Right now, Asher just wanted to enjoy his time with Leo.

Leo smiled. "I hope so too." he said softly, giving a long yawn and stretching a little. It was still really early in the morning, even if the sun was up now. But what that boy said earlier was still bothering him a little. "You know....I don't think you've told me anything of where you came from. Did you have any brothers or sisters? I feel so selfish not knowing anything about your family, except I know you have a grandfather but that's about it." Leo hoped he wasn't asking about a touchy subject.

Asher hadn't expected Leo to ask him about his past, and he wasn't sure what to say. He didn't remember anything about his home town or his family. Well, he remembered the names of his family members and how they died, but that only applied to his parents and brother. "To be honest, I don't remember much," he said, spying an old familiar object on the desk next to his bed. It was that locket that his supposed grandfather had left there. Picking it up and opened it, Asher took a look at the old photo still inside. "Well, I know I had a brother..."

Maybe that was who the person was from earlier. "Do you remember his name or what he looked like?" If that person was Asher's brother then what did that mean for Leo? They had been together for years but they weren't blood brothers. Maybe they would be able to work everything out. After all Ash wouldn't forget about Leo would he?

"His name is Raki, and he was only a baby when I last saw him," Asher said, staring sadly at the bundle that his younger self was holding in the picture. "He would be around your age right now..." Painful memories flooded his head and he had to close the locket. He could still remember his brother taking his last breath in his arms.

It seemed to fit, the boy he saw earlier sounded young enough to be his age. "I think he was here a little while ago." he said softly. "When I first got here there was a boy in your room. He said you two knew each other. Oh...wait...I don't think that's right...He said his name was Lucky. Such a strange name for a person." he said, though now he wasn't sure if the person he saw was the same as what Ash just described.

"It can't be Raki. He's... he's in Heaven with my parents, and they all died around thirteen years ago," Asher said, turning his head away. He raised an eyebrow at Leo mentioning the strange boy's name. "Lucky? I don't know anyone named Lucky. Well, maybe it's just the name I don't know. It sounds like a cereal mascot's name or some agent's code name."

This boy was starting to seem more suspicious. "Hmm....well I'm going to tell the nurse not to let him in anymore. We don't know who he is." he said softly, placing his hand on the locket Asher was holding in his hand. "I'm sorry I had to ask you to remember something so terrible." Leo hoped Ash wasn't too sad, after all Leo was only curious.

"It's fine, really. You didn't know," Asher said, and then he clutched Leo's hand. "If you want, I can tell you everything I remember. It might be nice to actually talk to someone about it." It just so happened that the only thing he could remember was the deaths of his family, but he had to admit he was getting sick of being the only one to know.

Leo smiled a little. "Okay but only if you want to." Leo knew how painful it was to remember his own family and Ash was always there when he needed to talk. It was nice that Ash was learning to lean on him a little, Leo liked the feeling of being needed for things like this but he didn't want Ash to overdo it.

"Alright. I'm not sure why, but it seems someone up there hated me enough to make me forget everything except how my family died," Asher began, now just looking at the ceiling. "I guess my parents and I were going somewhere and it was raining on that day. I was holding Raki in my arms and I was talking about how I was going to be the best big brother in the world. Kinda childish, but I was only four years old at the time." It felt like he was watching a first-person movie of sorts, and he wondered if Leo could imagine it. "Before I knew it, the car I was in was spinning out of control and it felt like we were falling. It turns out some driver pushed us over a cliff. My parents protected us, for the most part, but they died once we hit the ground. Raki and I were the only ones still breathing." The rain felt like piercing icicles that day, freezing him and his brother despite his own attempts to keep them both warm. "The paramedics arrived eventually, but they were really late. While I was waiting for help, Raki stopped breathing. I couldn't believe it, though. I tried to get him to wake up. Even if he cried, at least he would be alive. It probably took three people to get me to let go of his corpse."
A deep, shaky breath. It had been thirteen years, but it was still painful. "I was sent off the orphanage straight off. If my parents or my brother had a funeral, I never heard of it. I can't visit them even if I wanted to," he tightly hugged his brother much like a frightened child would hug a stuffed animal. "I was passed over by many potential parents because I was apparently too depressed for them. I thought I would be stuck there forever, but then, one day, I saw you." A smile crossed his face then as he remembered their first meeting. "When Mom and Dad adopted me, something that was still a mystery even to me, and they introduced me to you, I loved you right away and once again I wanted to be the best brother in the world. Sounds cheesy, but it's the truth. I had that second chance I didn't even know I wanted."

Such a sad story, seems like all of his friends were full of them but this one seemed the most sad. "I'm sorry, it must have been terrible for you to go through something like that." he said softly, he could feel Asher's pain in his tight embrace and allowed Ash to squeeze him as tightly as he wanted. "Maybe we'll make graves for them. Even if there aren't any bodies, it's the thought that counts right? I'm sure they would be happy with that at least."

"I suppose, but I wonder if Gramps knows where they're buried," Asher said. Besides that, where could they make a grave? They were to be evicted soon and they lived in an apartment, which probably made it hard if not impossible to have a garden. Still, asking his grandfather might be helpful. "He knew about the accident, so he might have buried the bodies..."

"Boy everything is just a mess right now, huh?" he asked, looking back on everything that's happened so far. "I wonder if all of this would have happened if I didn't start having those stupid visions in the first place. Then you wouldn't be in the hospital and we wouldn't be losing our home....again!" Leo was most certainly glad that Ash didn't blame everything on him, even if Leo put all of that blame on himself anyways.
