As she examined one of her hands, scanning it with her bright, grey eyes she waited for it to do the same as the other had just done; to glisten an unnatural hue.
It didn't, but she only realized she still had to fight her way to the top when a Harpy took advantage of her distraction and clawed at her back, raking down her shoulders. Picking them off with precision was not working; she was going to be overrun at this rate. That was it, it was all she had left. She couldn't stand any more of this tedious fight, firing at legions of harpies.
In frustration, Raumias emptied round after round into the remaining harpies, until she was the only one left, able to finish her ascent, and claim the loot that belonged to her.
The final of 3 blessings here, and the last of her views off the cliff edge. The descent was the easy part.
The descent wasn't always the easiest part, though. And once she had gone down, who was to say she could get back out again? Back, down into the depths and the dark. Where her fears slept, where sorrow waited her.
She knew that now, having climbed down just as she'd climbed up.
