Victoria would almost turn on the girl as she would point at her own pokemon as she declares harshly.
"Have you been paying any attention in this battle or even the other?" "Salacia isn't exactly listening to me at this point .....so I can't promise any cover."
THe girl would snap as Salacia would smile lightly at her trainer.
The confusion was another problem, this hadn't been a battle where she had control of her pokemon ...not one little bit as she saw that the two of them were already in movement.
And she would grit her teeth.
She was way too rash.
"Salacia, look ....a pretty flame ....yum..yum ...ummm...shiny."
The girl would declare as she looked completedly embarrassed at her own statement. The Quagsire had been doing weird things, so maybe, it was time for the trainer to do the same thing .....as she looked over at Lampent as the Energy ball went flying away at the same moment something would whoosh past her.
Shiny!
That had been the key word as the Quagsire would go after Burnout with her mouth open wide as she clamp down on the top of that glass sphere and with her back turned to both incoming attacks ...she was trying to eat the pokemon or maybe simply store him in her mouth ...even as she hunker protectively over him.
Like a bird shielding it's prey ...this would be only a temporary solution, because for the life of her .....Victoria couldn't figure out how they were going to get Salacia off of Burnout afterwards.
Yet, something else would happen as well. The girl for the most part had been trying her best to ignore the ghost type ....to forget he was even there, with Jasmine calling her to pay attention .....it would slowly burn into her mind each time the problem came up.
I got to get my Quagsire off of the Lampent
I got to get my Salacia off of Burnout
I got to get a water type that like shiny things off of a shiny .......ghost.
Ghost .....ghost ...ghost .....and finally it would hit before the solution as Victoria would go down like a girl shot.
"G-g-g-ghost!"
She would literally pass out ...leaving Jasmine with the problem of getting the Quagsire off of her pokemon.

Luck would find itself on the girl's side this time...well almost. One couldn't necessarily call an unconscious trainer and a Lampent smothered in Quaggsire saliva lucky; but regardless the defense had worked. Covering for the Lampent the various bubbles bounce harmlessly off Salacia's skin, the same ones managing to soften Leap's fall.
The Confusion Ray as well would manage to be blocked, the sphere bouncing off the Quaggsire before popping like a balloon. One could not confuse the already addled.
Surprisingly this time as they went on the defensive, Leap would chose something far more....standard. Though he dashed away briefly, sliding on slick feet, the Poliwhirl would turn to face his foes, arms crossed over his chest...and he was still sliding. Apparently the Water-Type's feet were slimier then he'd reckoned. Slowly sliding backward Leap faced his foes.
Now the question was, would it really be harder to hit a target moving in a straight line then zigzagging?
Percival's character would seem to change as he prepared his own defense. Hackles rising, the Ninetail's fur bristled, his tails rising into the air seemingly of their own accord as a series of spectral looking flames appeared around him. To say their opponents were irritating the Fire-Type would be an understatement right about now!

With Victoria out cold, there was no commands for her ....as the bubbles popping against her head would make her look up and away from her precious shiny object...still cradle in her arms as she held him protectively.
Someone had knocked?
Her mind still confused ...missed the fact that that was an attack ...as surely as if ....she thought of the fact that these creatures before her might want to take away her shiny.
Her precious.
Salacia's eyes would narrow as she would open her maw wide and send out a Water gun at the Ninetails.
She saw the fire type as being the biggest problem ...he looked skinny and scrawny, and everyone knew that those type were more likely to steal from you than those whom are healthy and fat.

((Haven't done this in a while, one handed work post!))
((...apologise in advance for spelling and tiny ness))
They were lucky, very much so, as Jamsine grimaced, she could t even ask Victoria's forgiveness right about now...
But the best she could do was try and win here, as she'd look at the Quagsire on top of Burnout.
Luckily she didn't need to worry how close she stayed there, not as long as Burnout could still attack juts now
"Energy Ball!"
While the Quagsire's attack was nowhere on target, the Lampentfired the energy ball, gathered and formed outside his body, and lobbed it right for that poliwhirls spiralling stomach!
It was going to be a hard hit, but it was straight, was it good?

What happened next would be quite the sight for the girl's to behold...at least for the one that was concious...but it also served to prove just how serious this battle had become.
Salacia's Water-Gun would travel straight and true toward her intended target, Percival standing perfectly still, not even batting an eye as the stream of liquid flew directly toward him. Yet just before the attack was supposed to hit, the flow of water would suddenly alter, the stream bending like a pipecleaner to one side and taking out the height-requirement-sign for the Log Flume.
Tired, drenched, and angry, it would seem Percival's mental abilities had risen completely to the forefront.
Leap would employ a different tactic. Leaning backward as the Energy Ball neared, the Poliwhirl would slip, rolling onto his back and allowing the attack to pass harmlessly overhead. As his body struck the ground it would bounce like a rubber ball, sending the Water-Type into the air. When he landed a moment later upon his feet a moment later, he'd give reason to his name.
In a single bound the Poliwhirl would leap into the air, arms wide and eyes narrowed as his trainer gave the command "Bubble!"
With that word alone Leap would release a thick cloud of bubbles down onto the battlefield, merely hoping to hit something...if not everything.
"Percival duck & cover, Confusion Ray!" The merchant child would call in the wake of the attack, and instantly the boy's Ninetail's would move. Circling around but remaining close to the obscuring cloud of bubbles, the Fire-Type would use them to conceal his approach.
Travelling on swift paws Percival would burst out from the side, releasing a midnight purple sphere of energy, the ball plowing haphazardly though the air in the direction of Burnout!

This was bad, and getting worse by the second.
The boys had turned their nose up at her offer.
Her ploy to turn the Poliwhirl's bubbles on the Ninetales had failed.
And no matter what, they couldn't seem to land that vital hit to win!
And now here came the torrent of bubbles after them again... Jasmine bit her lip...
Salacia was all alone, Victoria was knocked out... but even in all that had happened, Victoria had made Salacia protect Burnout before...
She solidified herself, unsure if this was the best move to make... but without any doubt, she was sure it was the right move for her.
"Burnout!"
The Lampent poised as Bubbles began to emerge from the Poliwhirl and the Ninetales moved forward.
"Protect Salacia!" Jasmine declared, waving her arm out toward the Quagsire.
Burnout would have blinked, but then there wasn't any time to hesitate.
He could have ignored her, doubted her, turned his nose up at the thought.
But he settled himself, the way she sounded... even after his failure previously to dodge, even countering... [That's the best call you made all day.]
He turned, and then in ghostly fashion vanished.
And then turned again, reappearing before Salacia, arms wide as his fire lit within his dome and grew and grew.
He would burn with every bit of Jasmine's passion here... it was looking bad, but if they were going down here, they would do so shielding their comrade from the brunt of it all, his lamp burning brighter and whiter, until it would blot out all other sight, only when the attacks would finish would it fade and reveal the results of their battle!

It was what shift from solid to ghost and back again that had Salacia stumbling. Afterall, she had been latched upon the pokemon only moments before as she looked at her own paws.
Where had her precious gone?
Rage would come across her face for a moment, a flicker of hatred at the thought of it being stolen. She would wheel around to face her opponents and instead would find herself looking at her precious standing protectively before her.
A confusion ....would be added to confusion.
How had her precious done that? Then, a simple dropping of that intelligent thought from her mind ....as she would simply move to reclaim it once more. Her maw open wide as she thought of the coolness of it in the inside of her mouth, and then it would happen. A flash of light would fill the area, but that didn't stop the pokemon from her movements. A almost big belly flop as she would lunge at Burnout from behind.
Salacia's eyes would vanish even further into pinpoints than one would think was possible ....as Burnout's defense would blind her. The light itself that was suppose to protect had blind his own partner as the pokemon would trip in the brightness, and depending on the pokemon's luck would flatten the Lampent beneath her ....as she moved to grab her precious once more.
Her own body would become a shield to the twin attacks.

"Blast it!" The merchant child cursed, gritting his teeth lightly as he watched the gong show occurring before him. Each Pokemon had worked to protect the other, resulting in a jumbled mess before them...but most of all...it had worked. Flattened against the floor both Bubble and Confusion Ray had literally gone over the Pokemon's head.
"Percival retreat and prepare for their advance!" The boy commanded sharply, and after a short growl at their opponents, the Ninetales would comply. Moving back to his previous position the Fire-Type would take a defensive stance, watching their adversaries warily.
Leap on the other hand would simply strike the ground and bounce back to his trainer.
"Booooo!" The sportier child called, hands cupped over his mouth before it settled into a pout. He didn't like where this was going, not one bit. "Leap! Log Flume, Surfer Style!"
Hearing the command, the Poliwhirl promptly dashed to the ride from which the trainer's had made their entrance. Jumping into the flow of water, the oversized tadpole would break off one of the signs and place it beneath his feet like a surfboard. From their the Water-Type made his temporary escape, surfing along the route of the ride...albeit it with much flailing and swerving on his part. Clearly the Poliwhirl didn't know much about surfing, the nature of the ride the only thing keeping him from simple falling over.

Eyes so small she couldn't see now ...she would roll off of the lump thing underneath her. Her eyes hurt, her belly hurt, and she couldn't tell what was happening ....as she thought about this moment when her precious could have been stolen. Rolling over and over until she managed to get clear of whatever it had been underneath her ...that had been sharp and pointy.
She wasn't happy in the least ....as she would open her maw wide.
If one couldn't see, then one shouldn't attack ....but, considering that she had no clue what was happening ...she found it hard not too ....as she would unleash a water gun attack straight ahead.
There was as much of a risk of her hitting her own partner as simply succumbing to confusion to her actually hitting one of her targets at this point. Though the pokemon had at that moment been pointed at the Ninetails as she sent out her spray.

((Whee, will be finished work in about two hours and hopefully able to post more!))
Jasmine wasn't sure what to expect, but she had expected the worst... So she gritted her teeth, and waited, eye squinted until the light died, and there the two were, unscathed!
She laughed aloud, whilst Burnout could only mourn his position as the Quagsire's plaything again.
Now, now they were moving again, momentum was swaying...
The Ninetales of course wasn't her most concern, fixed upon the Poliwhirl. But then she watched him snap the sign off and head for the log flume, the picture in her head lit up, before she'd whirl on Burnout. "Burnout! You thinking what I'm thinking?"
The Lampent swung until he could at least momentarily get the Quagsire to slide off his glass dome again, too affronted to thank her for the save get, turning on Jasmine's words, and watching her look to the Poliwhirl, a cruel laugh forced its way out of his dancing flame.
[Yes. I believe I am.] He turned and vanished in mid air without another word.
Jasmine meanwhile turned to the Quagsire... Should she command her? It didn't feel right... Not unless...
"Salacia! Good job, thank you, but quickly, use your water gun on Victoria!"
There wasn't anything that stopped her from waking up Victoria in time to move, was there?
~~~~~~~~
Leap was moving down the flume, the roaring water sending him back and froth, pivoting this way and that, it was a most radical escape route.
Apart from one problem.
The flume was a path.
All anyone had to do to see where Leap was going and then cut him off wherever they wished!
So was the moment when Burnout appeared.
[Smile for the birdie!] The Lampent apparated, right at the camera pointed to catch riders, the Energy Ball right in his clutches already, before he lobbed it at the Poliwhirl, here was a prime shot, and all it came down to was his own accuracy!!
(7 - 4) + (13 - 13) = 3 DMG
Salacia HP: 15
Leap, a name the Poliwhirl had certainly earned. It was true that surfing down a Log Flume gave predictable path, but there was still plenty of room for the Water-Type to move.
As Burnout appeared the Poliwhirl would spring off the board, flipping through the air over his opponent and landing back on the sign as it slide beneath and passed the offending ghost.
Swerving sharply Leap would proceed to swing free of the Log Flumes destined path, jetting off to the side and into the air. Using the board for the needed friction, the Poliwhirl would adjust it between his feet and begin spinning through the air, at the same time sending a cascade of Bubble in all directions!
"Percival use Extrasensory on the Quagsire!" The Merchant child would call out amidst the clamour of the events above. He'd been focusing on the Lampent before now, but there time was swiftly running out with the Quagsire. If they didn't act quickly her confusion would break...and then they'd have a real problem on their hands!
Tails flaring, paws spread apart, the Ninetales would begin focusing his mind, a golden aura building around his fur coat. He needed to push beyond himself, to penetrate the Quagsire's mind and shatter it. Break her from within rather then without.
His thoughts focused on this single task, the golden aura would move to follow his desire. Lancing out the golden aura would twist, forming dozens of radiant spears, a rainbow light glistening between them forming a transparent net.
Salacia's mind was clearly fractured to begin with, now the Ninetales was planning to widen that crack!
There are many places one should never go ...the mind of a Quaqsire is one ...as the Ninetail would find that that derp look on their face wasn't just for show. The inside of her mind wasn't fracture, it was mainblowing nonsense as the fox would look for the grain of intelligences and find it awash in a sea of stupidity.
It was a risk that the pokemon wouldn't get himself lost there, because afterall, in order to sense someone ...you have to open up your senses to them as well. And that was the danger as Salacia smiles prettily as she doesn't even go with a formal defense.
The command to spray water on her own trainer was lost in that sea of ridiculous and then add in the confusion of her mind and it was a sea that was rocking and traitorous.
 Sora walked into the battle room as he was instructed. The letter that he recieved in the mail last week stated that he was to pass a survival battle to ensure his enrollment. Hopefully this wouldn't be too hard. It'd suck if he failed. That was the last thing he wanted to think of. Sora stood at the side of the field that was closest to the door. Maybe by standing there, he would begin his test.  Poochyena [Lv.2][Exp.0/100]
((Whee, finally hae time to post, even if it IS a work post...))
Burnout could see the Quagsire adeptly blocking the Ninetales, simply by standing there... He felt an inner shudder, Victoria may have been afraid of him, but he was no fan of her Quagsire.
His eyes settled on the Poliwhirl, it's movements we're sloppy, but he had already fumbled once in a counter... And the Poliwhirl's movement, even if not refined... It was in match with its partner...
There was no value to attempting another punter just now, as instead he swirled in the mid air, sweeping side to side to evade his attack!
