 SaileitheSai remained still. Her eyes made the slightest motion to view Lucy for a few seconds, as if registering who she was. After a moment, her eyes turned away and closed in some strange sense of security. Sai’s paws rested against her now ruffled mane with a small breath. Her right paw met her left in a rather struggled manner.

 LucyNormally Lucy would have rushed a patient like this right to a room to be treated.
But, for Sai... She just couldn't seem to get her legs working that way.
She slumped into a chair, still cradling the Eevee, and pressed her forehead to Sai's.
"Don't worry, Sai... I'm here..."
She squeezed her eyes shut, tears welling up.
This was happening...
This always happened...
Nobody was safe...

SaileitheSai made a very slight wince before opening her eyes again. They moved as if looking around the room although nothing could be seen but Lucy’s pink fur. Light hurt for some reason. She sighed and closed her eyes again. “I’m sorry…” Sai’s voice was just a notch up from silent.

 Lucy---&--- VitoLucy sighed and shook her head, holding Sai close.
"No... I'm sorry..." She whispered softly.
Because of her, whatever curse she had was affecting Sai now.
Everybody she was close to always seemed to get hurt.
"You're not paid to sit around and snuggle interns."
Lucy looked up at her uncle Vito, who was standing there with his arms crossed.
"She has a broken paw. Cuddles and sunshine aren't gonna' fix it."
"I... I c-can't... I'll just hurt her more..." Lucy replied with a whimper.
Vito's eyebrow cocked a bit as he looked at his niece.
"Fine. I'll do it. I expect to see her in Room 103 within five minutes," He growled, turning on point and walking away.
Lucy looked down at Sai again, biting her bottom lip.

SaileitheSai shook her head, her eyes opened again fearfully at her father’s words. Lucy doing anything wrong? No, never. She’s sorry she turned out female. Sai paused then and closed her eyes again in a strangely bipolar fashion. Her right ear twitched at the sound of Vito’s voice but she seemed to be completely relaxed again otherwise. "It's okay." Sai covered her closed eyes with her working paw.

Lucy---&--- VitoIn this situation, Lucy's true age began to show.
She usually kept her face looking bright and young by smiling all the time, but now that her smile was gone, she definitely looked middle-aged.
Closing her eyes, she gave another sigh and began to take Sai to the room Vito had signified.
Stepping inside, she saw Vito was waiting for them both.
"Just set he down in the bed. It didn't look too bad, it won't take long. But you should already know that."
Lucy just nodded, slightly ashamed, and gently placed Sai on the cushioned bed in the middle of the room.
"I won't go a foot from the door..." She assured Sai before leaving the room and closing the door behind her.
--Time Skip--
Vito stepped out of the room, rubbing a towel over his claws.
"She's fine, physically. Can't say the same for her mentally. Go see her, I'm paging Tommy," He said.
Lucy nodded and stepped back into the room, looking at Sai's bandaged paw and then at the Eevee's face.
"Sai... What happened?" She asked softly.

SaileitheSurgery was quick and easy with Sai like this. Not like you’d get much of a response, that is. When Lucy came in, Sai maneuvered herself to the middle of the bed under the sheet. She was still keeping her eyes closed. Hearing was good enough for now. Sai was licking her bandaged paw, making the sheet above her move consistently before stopping at the sound of Lucy’s voice. The sheet flattened slightly as she went from lying on her stomach, to flopping over on her side and despite being hidden, all she did was shake her head. What did happen?

LucyLucy very lightly sat down on the bed next to Sai.
Gently, she placed her paw on top of the mound that was Sai under a sheet and rubbed the Eevee's back.
"Whatever happened... I-I should have been there to protect you..."
The Weavile sniffled and rubbed her eyes.
"I... I was supposed to protect everyone..."
"A knight's purpose is to serve and protect her lady~"
She failed Isis, and now she'd failed Sai...

SaileitheSai’s body flinched. She was silent for some time before moving her paw from her eyes. She shook her head again. “No. Nothing’s wrong. Nothing.”Sai crawled out from under the sheet and limped back to Lucy, bumping into her in the process as she still refused to open her eyes. The light just hurt her head and sight wasn’t her favorite sense at the moment. Not even close. Sai maneuvered her way onto Lucy’s lap before flopping down again. She was okay for a few seconds, but her body let off a slight shake as she began crying again. “It’s my fault. It was all my fault.”Her breakdown seemed to be rebounding as her shivers became clearer. Sai quickly buried her face in Lucy’s lap and began to grind her teeth slightly.

LucyLucy sighed a little and wrapped her arms around Sai, holding her close.
She figured the light was causing some problems for the Eevee, so she flicked an Ice Shard at the light switch and turned them off.
The Weavile could still see perfectly well in the dark, so she was fine.
"Something's wrong, but it isn't your fault, Sai..." She cooed into the Eevee's ear.
She couldn't be sure of anything, though.
Maybe whatever Sai was talking about was her fault, Lucy had no clue.
But she didn't care about the truth, she only cared about Sai.
"Don't worry, I'll be here for you for as long as you want me around..."
Her ear-feathers flickered a bit.
Tommy would probably be arriving soon, but if Sai wished, Lucy could postpone talking to him.
The Delcatty was a hell of a Psychiatrist, but Sai needed some recovery time first.

SaileitheSai took a breath and attempted to settle herself. She knew she was safe, but it didn’t seem to make the biggest difference in her actions. “Stay if you’d like.” Sai replied simply as she curled herself into a tight ball before throwing her glasses on the bed.

LucyThe Weavile paused a bit, and then nodded.
It seemed like the tone Sai had was saying she didn't care if Lucy was there or not.
The door then opened a bit, and two bit pink ears followed by a white face poked into the room.
Lucy looked over at Tommy and shook her head slowly.
Tommy nodded and left.
Sighing, Lucy laid back on the bed and snuggled up close to the ball of fuzz that was Sai,

SaileitheSai became silent from then on. Talking was an effort, one she found unnecessary. If she could even keep her mind in place she would. Sai made a low growl before burying her face back in Lucy's fur. At least the voices stopped... for now. "What does he want from me-- he's not hearing anything." Sai muttered lowly as she turned her head slightly to the door, glaring at it before closing her opened eye again.

Lucy"Hmm?" Lucy mumbled, looking to where Sai looked.
"Oh, Dr. Tinypaw?" She asked.
"He just wants to talk to you later, see if he can help you with whatever's going on..."
Lucy began to gently stroke Sai's fur.
"At least, that's what I assume you were talking about..."
Lucy knew that since she had failed protecting Sai, she needed to help her get better as much as she could.

Saileithe"...No one's hearing anything." Sai turned over onto her side and made a slight yawn that ended in a shiver. Epitaph could answer more than her, or Darius, but it's not like she'd tell her mother anything either. Sai was always personal like that. Besides, Ep had enough to blame herself over. Sai's breathing became lighter. She'd rather just sleep.
