The military.com newsletter is pretty neat. Lots of technical articles in there. Not to mention some other stuff. Like the death of the last female american veteran of world war one a week ago.

Where oh where have games like these gone to? For me, music is the number one element that I pay attention to in shooters, if it ain't rock'n or sucks me into the moment...it bores me...-cough-XenoSaga-cough- stare

Liquid armor has been around for awhile, actually cheaper and a bit more practically speaking just by applying a waterproofing agent to kevlar they found out how to to increase its stab resistance and resistance to penetration... cheap and easy for pretty capable change..
liquid armor on the other hand is a more expensive if more effective.

*shrug* That's why I have my "Video Game Killin' Music" playlist on my computer Lady Knightstar. Don't have to worry about it. Just mute the music (But not the sound effects of course), crank up my comp's speakers, and wham, instant Zen shooter music.

Xenosaga's team began to realize that music, even created by one so well-regarded at Mitsuda (the composer of Xenogears), needs to be varied and a better budget as early as Xenosaga II, when they hired one of my other favorite composers, Kajiura. Kajiura and Mitsuda music were alternated in II, with Kajiura handling the boss battle music and cutscenes, while Mitsuda dealt with the rest.
Xenosaga II was not a good game, and I'm happy I didn't play it. It was a valiant, drastic attempt to make the gameplay that suffered so much in the original interesting...but it was a failed experiment.
...all this is fixed in Xenosaga III. Music is completely done by Kajiura, music that is both inspired and skillfully used. Gameplay is intuitive, with satisfying battles and little-to-no loading time. Best of all, combat is resolved quickly, with moves that are on par with or better than the best RPGs.
I think my biggest let down is that now that they've finally gotten it right, Xenosaga's series is coming to a close... ...and my biggest potential regret is that people will have no desire to pick up III after having suffered through I and II. I'm just relieved that my friend ended up picking it up, because I too would not have given III a chance otherwise.

Do what I did, watch the end of the original Xenosaga, and all of Xenosaga II on YouTube. You get all of the in game and cutscene plot... and don't have to suffer through actually playing the games. 3nodding

No, then I just have to suffer through YouTube... which has a habit of taking down whatever I'm watching halfway through it, if it a series, or video game plots, etc. wink

The leveling! The LEVELING!!! GAAH! X_X. Repetitive crap music playing in each battle...why couldn't they learn from Grandia II, if the enemy ambushed you, the music would be hectic, and a normal encounter would have the normal music. Final version of KOS-MOS FTW! >w
