{Don't fear the dark... fear what's in it.}

[Enchanted Dominion: Maleficent's Castle]

"That's because I don't flaunt them," Zekvyr responded, pushing off from the wall.

He walked over to the barrier and examined it. It was designed to keep most people out, certainly no one person from this world could open it, and not mindless zombies or those unfamiliar with darkness, either. It was a 'just enough, and nothing more' barrier. Being born in a setting of darkness, immersed in it his entire life, he could simply walk through it and it would open. The fae hadn't planned on him.

He turned his attention back to the fairy. "And if I could open it?" he asked. Nothing was free, after all.

{Life, death, it does not matter. All that matters is that they are mine.}

[Enchanted Dominion: Maleficent's Castle]

Ah, this game. Nymira was familiar with this, even if she was an outcast.

"I have already told you of what is in the rest of the castle: Nothing. What you seek must be in there, as is what I seek. However, I can not make you open it."

With a small gasp, and bringing her hand up to her mouth to hide her smile, the elf 'continued'. "Oh, I see. You are unable to open it. Why else stall?" She reached over to pet her zombie like one would pet a dog, the zombie's vacant stare pointed at the darkness, a ghost wailing as it went by over her head. "It is a shame, truly. I heard about the drow, how they held power. Apparently it truly is only physical for you."

Oh, yes, she would play at his pride. No male, no matter the race, could deny having even the smallest bit of pride. And she should know. She played off of a man's pride all the time when she hungered.

He met the fairy's eyes. "Have fun with it," he said, and casually leaned against the adjacent wall, watching her.

The dark barrier swirled around, inviting, and inaccessible to her. He had pride, yes, but practicality and payment came first. The item he sought was undoubtedly beyond this barrier, and hers as well. What use did he have of her now his goal was in sight? He wondered if she knew how close to death she was. Any possible further usefulness was slipping away, and yet... potential.

He didn't want to kill her regardless. It would be difficult, firstly, and then there was the matter of the item itself. Her... powers might be able to sense it for him.

So, that was a no-go for the pride. At least at this level, but she wasn't willing to go further down that route.

With a sigh, and a rub of her head like it was paining her to say the following, she said "I submit. How about you open in, and I shall help you find what you are looking for?" There, she said it, it was out there. She just wanted that damn barrier gone.

Fal'Navi

[Castle Oblivion :: Kitchen]

Fal'navi stepped out of a corridor of darkness, adorned in his black dragoon armor. His spear was on his back, the black blades seeming to glow with excitement for the day.

Forgive my lateness, Vereor, I lost myself in reading. I am curious to hear what business is for today, as well as partake in some tea. But I will let you finish what you are saying.

He quietly edged himself into one of the seats, placing two sugars into his tea cup, awaiting the delicious drink that would fill his cup. A childish thought, maybe, but the morning cup of tea was very relaxing.

"It should be easy for you. The item bears a curse, a powerful curse, one not to be taken lightly." It was clear he was eager to find it. "A small price to pay–" he said, touching the barrier with an open palm, reaching into the darkness, manipulating it to open. The swirls stopped and the portal became still.

"–for a simple task."

Simple in appearance. The barrier had been created by someone who knew what they were doing, a creature of the deep dark arts. It was harder than he had thought.

"A curse...hmmm...." She thought about it for a moment. A curse fell under the dark magicks, usually invoked by calling on the dark gods, or powerful dark magics, or even pure force of will through hatred, jealousy, wrath. Something a necromancer should be able to take care of. Something she could be able to use for herself, too, after enough understanding.

"Alright. So it's agreed upon. You open this barrier, I find this curse. This is not a problem in the slightest." Of course, he had to open the barrier, not just still it, before she could enter herself.

Zekvyr nodded, then turned his 'full' attention to the barrier. His eyes seemed distant for a moment. Nothing happened immediately, but then a pulse, shockwave in appearance, disturbed the surface of the darkness for a heartbeat; the outsides of the barrier began the transformation, a change of color creeping rapidly toward the center. When it was done, the barrier was dispelled, and a passage was revealed, illuminated in an eerie green light. There was a narrow set of stairs winding upwards.

Zekvyr gestured the fairy forward. He did not want to enter first– force of habit.

[[Core]]

[[Traverse Town] .:. [First District] .:. [Cafe]]

The armored man sat at his table with a look of intrigue on his face, staring about at all of the people around him as he quietly chewed on his food. What this made with magic?, he thought, Surely it must be so, as I've never tasted something so delicious. It is as though the people of Clockwork have been living their lives according to an unfair handicap.

Next to the table leaned the man's primary weapon, his case of swords. Back on Clockwork, he was feared for his use of the Mugenken, but here on this world he was just another peculiar traveler. The thought of starting at the bottom again filled the young man with untold joy, prompting him to take another bite of the delicious food. He couldn't help but let his mind drift as he ate, though, his thoughts traveling back to his arrival at Traverse Town.

His first contact wasn't exactly a pleasant one, as he was immediately attacked by Heartless upon his arrival. While many of the creatures were affected by the pressure put off by his physical strength, it nonetheless soured the mood of his arrival. His first battle off Clockwork had been too easy, his Mugenken style making quick work of the creatures. He placed a hand on the pommel of one of the twenty swords he carried, pulling it from its scabbard and absentmindedly playing with it as he finished his food. "This world isn't everything I had hoped it to be, but from here I can procure a means by which to travel to more worlds. Perhaps one day the title of strongest in existence will belong to me?"

He sheathed the blade and smiled, leaning back in his chair with his hands behind his head. "What a depressing thought, being on top again... For me, I suppose it is the journey and not the destination. The fight to the top is what I live for, but the top is just so lonely."

~Rasxa~

Life is an Illusion, Therefore, We all Believe the Same Lie

~Traverse Town--> First District~

Rasxa had been here before, walked down the streets and under the lights. They brought back the memories again, making him grit his teeth and grimace. "What's the matter? Was my cooking that bad?" The red-headed cook said beside him, twirling her long thin hair around her finger. "No, it was fine, really. It's just that this world brings back memories of which I do not want." Rasxa said his tone rolling from reassuring to frustrated. The red-head's eyes went from calm to large from alarm. "I'm... I'm... sorry..." She said stammering and eventually disappearing from sight to head back to the traveler's ship. Sighing, Rasxa walked into the light again, staying for a moment and looking out across the First District. The last time I was here... It was right after our home was destroyed... He thought, the memories flashing before his eyes whenever he blinked.

[[Masenko-Ma]]

[[Castle Oblivion] .:. [Kitchen]]

A small current of smoke seemed to pull the bottle of hot sauce to Masenko, his hand reaching out and grabbing it as it came without reach. As soon as the bottle touched his lips, the red substance inside seemed to drain away, like water down a drain. He set the bottle back down on the table as he finished, fading into smoke again only to reform in a normal sitting position.

"So what you're saying is we're actually gonna have to do work, huh? Sounds arduous are boring..."

[Enchanted Dominion: Maleficent's Castle]

The necromancer ignored the drow, while not completely(she was not stupid), but enough to let him know she didn't care that he did it, just that it was open.

Once in the room, her eyes scanned the place. A few bookshelves, some ritual items...the place reeked of dark magic, and she loved it.

However, most of it was basic guarding magicks, not curses. Even she could tell that much. However, her heart was here for the books, and she immediately started piling books of interest into the arms of her zombie, more zombies shuffling around the corner and into the room. Reading the books here was just unintelligent when she could take them somewhere with a large, soft bed, or a comfy chair so she could relax and read. Perhaps in that new dress she found on one of the other worlds....

A small chuckle escaped through Nymira's lips.

Zigmund

A small spoon sparked with a pale blue light and drifted through the air to Zigmund's cup, pouring some sugar into his tea as he yawned and relaxed into his seat.

"What I'm more curious about are these 'travelers'. What makes them important enough to know we even exist?"

Kuropo Guroko

{Judge me not by my size; For I am much more than meets the eyes.}

{Traverse Town : Hotel : Lobby}

Kuropo had clambered up into another chair and sat down as he waited for the others to arrive. His eyes closed as he fell deep into thought, until that was Kellan approached him. His eyes opened as he looked at the rather intimidating man before him, though he seemed to not be effected by the man's presence. His gloved hand raised up to his chin as he thought about what the man had asked.

"Hmmm... I'm afraid I haven't heard the name Haruko. Is she supposed to be a friend or foe?" He asked, curious as to why this man was inquiring with him.

[Moggie : Traverse Town : Inn]

Moggie silently followed Suzu out of the hotel room. When she got to the lobby, she spotted the young man from the day before (Sory) She couldn't help, but feel a little worried. After what he said to her the night before after that explosion she caused. Moggie remembered it was cause of what he said that made her feel unwanted in the group and leave. She wondered if he would still feel the same way about her now.

Moggie's ears perked up as she soon heard another familiar voice from the night before. She turned in the direction to see the man who was wrapped up in nothing, but a sheet. The moogle raised an eyebrow as she looked at the man.

"Oh, hey. You are the man from last night, kupo," she said as she used her wings to look at him at close to eye level.
