Kai stopped and got down on all eight of his legs. He lowered his head and squeaked sadly.

*How did this start?* Cassie wondered mournfully, looking at the spider, trying to think of it as Kai yet she only saw an icky spider.

Kai stood on his back legs again and squeaked. He looked and sounded like a small child trying to get loving attention from it's mother.
