Friendship. The word almost stung. *I guess so.* She answered softly, in reference to them.
Friends.
What had she expected? Suddenly annoyed at herself, she strightened up. *I'd rather you not talk to her. I'm not sure where things stand yet. Maybe...maybe it just needs time, is all. Don't you think?*

'Time would probably help,' he nodded in agreement and reluctantly let her go, grasping her hand.
'We should get back to camp. You never know who might be looking for us,' he gently tugged her forewards.
'Are you still cold?' he looked over his shoulder at her, his eyes crinkled into a smile.

*Nothing a brisk run won't cure.* she answered, covering her disappointment and annoyance. Again, what had she expected? Even then....
Even back then...
Blinking her eyes from the sudden threat of tears, she tugged at his hand.
*C'mon! The run will do you good!*

I don't want to do this anymore. The words made Ice blink and look up as Io stormed into the kitchen where she was finishing her food. I don't want to stick around and play colonist, I don't want to wait until that little brat grows up to slit her throat, I CAN'T TAKE IT!
Io stopped, glaring at Ice, an imploring look in her eyes. I'm sick of this place. I'm sick of it ALL.
"And what do you want me to do about it?" Ice asked quietly, taking another sip from her drink.
I want you to go with me this time, Ice. Not to the other dimension, either. I want to get off this damn planet. Away from my past, away from this screwed up game of playing pretend. You can't tell me you haven't been thinking of leaving.
"..." Ice turned, picking up her plate and cup and taking it to the sink. She stood there for a minute, looking thoughtful. "You want to run away. You really think that will do you any good?"
I can damn well find out.
Ice nodded, putting the plates in the sink. "I did the same when I was your age... I guess I can't lecture you on it." She turned, shrugging. "We'll have to tell your aunt. And your uncle, I suppose."

((Sorry Trivii, I didn't see your update or I would have responded sooner.))
Kasai turned his head and looked over to Sani, Yeah I think Cin will be please. A mischevious smile came over his face. She said she would take me to get fish when the pond was done. It is the first step toward her teaching me how to hunt. What is great about it is I won't ever have to worry about how I will cook my food either. Kasai's answer turned into a ramble of sorts and then blinking he stopped realizing what he was doing. Well we are here. Kasai gestures to the entrance to his home as they stop at the door.
Mycroft grins slightly and bows his head slightly in Trivii's direction, "As you wish."
Cin lets Mycroft chat with Tivii as she makes a few adjustments on his holovid device. Seeing Kasai and Saniya coming up to the door she looks over to Trivii and says, "Looks like the kids are back".

((Its all good Cinder, I haven't been on much with lotsa school stuff n'all))
Saniya was begining to understand and tilted her head, allowing her eyes to turn up at the corners in a half smile. Until he interupted himself with the announcement that they had arrived. Flicking a lock of hair off her shoulder again, before the door was opened. 'I think I understand.... You'll be able to take care of yourself.' She looks at the door, not willing to knowck because he lived there, and not willing to walk in for the same reason.
Trivii looks away from Mycroft for a minute, "Thats good, I hope they've been getting along." Swirtching her gaze back to Mycroft, she loops her tail around her waist, and her ears take on an inquisitive angle. "So Mycroft what've you observed about this new ore of Cinder's?"

Cern had started out fully intending to go with Nika and Shiva back to the base. He's chickened out, walked quickly towards the ship instead. Neither of them seemed to notice, which was probably a good thing considering what had popped into his mind in rapid succession. Hopefully Ed hadn't locked the cabinet this time.
((what he does on board is in his journal. XD))

Kasai walked to the door quickly and opened it for Sani, After you water girl, our guardians are inside. Kasai's mask upturns in a smile and his eyes dance happily.
Cin leans back letting Mycroft speak raising the glass of water to her lips she watches Kasai open the door for Saniya over the rim of the glass. Cin smiles slightly, her boy seemed to be quite the charmer. She wondered how he was adjusting to everyone in the colony and if one day he would want to leave.
Mycroft smiles and brushes an imaginary piece of lint off of his smoking jacket, he liked being talked to one on one. It probably had to dow with his new form, most humans he has found don't like talking to something that is just a voice from a wrist comm. "I can't really touch the metal, but from what my sensors have picked up it seems to be very durable to air and water, there hasn't been any damage caused to the metal from what I have seen so far. For it's durability against water I would personally like to run some more tests. Also as we have seen with the wire making it is also very easy to form into whatever shape is needed. I would also be very happy to help you test the metal further."

((for what happened before, please refer to the fishing thread started by Ice and involving Io, Cern, Nika and Shiva))
Shi had crawled back under her blanket, watching Nika return back to the place that he shared with Gee. Return to his home. How she envied him in that moment. Looking askance at the silhouette of the place where she supposedly resided, she made herself turn away.
It was several more minutes when she realized what it was that seemed so odd and distracting to her. Cern had not yet come out. Blinking she looked at the sun in the sky, and then figured the time. He had had more than enough at even a snails pace to come back. Where was he?
Concerned, she got to her feet and walked back towards the wood, still clutching her blanket about her. At the least she could try to keep warm while she satisfied her concern.
Peering in, she saw nothing. Now where had he gone to?

Bottle in hand and already regretful, Cern managed to make his way to the ship's door and seat himself on the threshold. The bottle was nearly half empty, though he was fairly certain he'd only had a drink or two. The cabinet hadn't been locked after all, just stuck. A good hard jerk had opened it wide, and left the contents to Cern. Fine by him. He had all the time in the world.
Tipping the bottle back, Cern watched the horizon and wondered whether it was worth the effort of trying to chase down someone who could cook.

Where had he gone? She hadn't felt anything all of a sudden. Or even...saw. Not that "seeing" was at all reliable. She was sure that a total disaster could happen and she not precog it.
It already had once.
*hello?*she called softly*Cern? Hello?* Pulling her blanket around her more closely, she backtracked slowly through the wood, eyes to the ground looking for a careless sign of passing, or even a...struggle? What a silly and completely believeable thought.
She hated herself for it immediately.
Continuing to trace it back, she saw the sun glint off bright metal and had realized that Everdark had parked her ship a bit yonder off. Could he have changed his mind and not decided to come back to camp despite his earlier words?
Was Cern that indecisive?
In a heartbeat. When it CAME to hearts.
She didn't see signs of a fight, so she worked her way quickly through the trees, flittering in and out amongst the boughs and leaves as a sylvan child.

Leaning forward a bit, Cern wondered when the ground here became so welcoming. So friendly. So downright enticing. He cautiously set the bottle down, oblivious when it rolled backwards and spilled, and jumped down the foot or so. His landing was less than graceful, spilling him onto the floor to be grass stained.
This was the life. The buzz singing through his veins in a technicolor orchestra while the wind whispered. And cracked. The earth was walking towards him. Or he was walking towards it. He tilted his head back, forcing it flat against the ground, reminding himself that he was stationary. Which meant the earth moved for him. What a nice thought.
There had been something he'd been intending to do, around the fifth drink or so. It woudl come back to him eventually.

When she saw him lying prone, Shi's first response was to run forward. She checked that immediately, scanning the area first to endsure that she could see nothing obvious. There was no sign of injury either.
*Cern?* Walking forward finally, she looked around. *Are you injured? Cern?*

That tree sounded like Shiva. Looked like her, too. Ooh. Cern sat up slowly, enjoying the sensation of the air giggling on his skin. Shi, how goes. He waved to her, then lay down again. I'd offer ya sip but sallgone. Think I drank it.

*What you didn't drink, you dropped.* She discerned, sniffing the air and sensing alcohol there. *I didn't see you come back to town like you had said you would. I was worried. Is everything all right?*
