"Holy crap," A.J. mumbled, watching as his Pinsir staggered around in a pained daze. "C'mon, Pinsir! Fight back with Brick Break!" The Pinsir shook its head, and glared at the smaller Larvitar before charging forward, its fists glowing with power. Ada braced herself for impact and took the hit, refusing to cry out even as the bone-crushing attack scored massive damage. However, the glare she shot up at the overgrown bug was enough to make it back off.
"Ada is a Rock-type Pokemon," Kasiya replied quickly. "We've got this one in the bag, Ada! Finish 'em off with a good old Thrash!" Letting out a fierce growl, Ada charged forward, fury burning in her eyes as she jumped at the Pinsir. She kicked, punched, elbowed, and headbutted; and by the time her rage subsided the larger Pokemon lay in a heap in the sand, unable to continue. At this point the sandstorm died down, giving an epic feel to the battle that Ada had just won. It wasn't without effort though, as the Larvitar was breathing heavily by the time she made it back to Kasiya's side. Kasiya knelt down beside her and put a hand on her head. "You're awesome," she said, looking up as A.J. recalled his Pinsir.
"I guess I underestimated you guys," he said sheepishly, shaking some of the sand from his hair. "My Pinsir didn't even know what hit it."
"A lot of people underestimate me," Kasiya replied, averting her eyes from the tall (yet cute) boy. Now that she thought about it, that kind of thing did happen a lot - earlier that day she'd been underestimated by Haruka, and now A.J. too. The surfer boy waved goodbye before taking off, and Kasiya watched him sprint down the beach, those thoughts of constantly being underestimated rolling around in her mind. It wasn't until she heard a pained grunt from Ada that she snapped out of her daydream. "Ada? Are you all right?" she asked. The Larvitar shook her head back and forth, now doubled-over and seemingly in pain. Kasiya's eyes grew wide as the small Rock-type's body began to glow brightly with a white light...

ma lul'd and chuck norris'd robin 1 : D
M.A. couldn't help but smile at Robin's speech -- the deep night had stolen away her ability to think too deeply upon things, but it sounded good. Motivated her to keep on trying to be stronger, for her Pokemon's sake, although if she had reasoned with herself more at that very second, she wouldn't have been able to answer what the purpose of strength was. Daemyn and Tora aspired to grow tougher and tougher, and she wanted to experience the joy in their joy, but... Oh, right, she wasn't thinking at the time; only that little voice way back in the cave was, and it couldn't make it through M.A.'s density at the time. "Yeah... Nakama, huh? That sounds so nice," she smiled, Robin's high spirits rubbing off on her.
Tora might have smelt the fruit and the Aipom first, but Daemyn saw him first and darted ahead. Tora, seeing that she was losing, curled into her little Rollout ball and nearly flattened Daemyn as she spun dizzily by. They did look perfectly devilish, breathing hard as they were, legs (or entire bodies) whirling, glancing back and forth between the Aipom and one another... (At this point they had fairly forgotten why the heck they were looking for the Aipom in the first place -- they just wanted to get to him first).

Ky clenched both his fists and teeth as he looked upwards at the two bugs brawling in the air. Ky's intuition told him that Lex's Ledian was nearly finished, but at the same time, he felt that Sting had taken a few too many Tackles as well. For that reason, Ky knew he shouldn't use another defensive move; that would only risk the chance of Sting losing his endurance. That being said, with a Reflect shield in place, it would be difficult to deliver any kind of finishing blow. "Sting! Move around but keep your eyes sharp! Look for an opening and...!"
"BEEEEEEEEES!" came a sudden unfamiliar scream of joy out of nowhere. Reacting mainly on reflex, both Ky and Tracy turned their heads to see a very young freckle-faced girl who had just appeared out of the forest, absolutely beaming with a smile full of braces. She wore what looked to be an over-sized gardener's hat and blue overalls covering a plain pink shirt and carried with her a large net in her left hand while she tilted the wide brim of her hat upwards with the other, trying to get a better view of the battle. "I loooooooove bees!" she continued in glee. Ironically, just as she said that, three Weedles suddenly appeared crawling on the little girl, one from her back onto her shoulder, one from the front pocket of her overalls, and one coming over the top of her gardener's hat. "Is he yours?!" the bug-catcher girl asked excitedly, looking up at Tracy with a cute face.
"Nope, it's his," Tracy said quickly as he pointed to Ky.
Normally, Ky would've responded, but his attention was quickly back in tune with the battle. Sting in the meanwhile was zigzagging back and forth in the air, looking for an opportunity to possibly juke his opponent and get past the barely visible shield that was protecting it. The Ledian though, kept his defenses up and waited patiently for his own trainer to issue an order. After watching this for a while, Ky could see there was little hope in getting past the Reflect barrier. "You'll just have to punch through it Sting! Use Fury Attack!"
Agreeing with Ky, Sting flew straight for the Ledian, aiming to fire as many jabs as he could in rapid succession. With his first right hook, he managed to jab into the Ledian's chest, but using this move against him, the Ledian quickly flew backwards, bobbing and weaving the next two swings. Enraged, Sting lunged with his next left jab, which struck true, but afterward, the ladybug simply grabbed Sting's arm and redirected his final attack to the side, ending the bee's combo with only two hits.
Grabbing his hair in frustration, Ky could only watch as Sting did minimal damage. It was definitely better than missing, but he knew Sting was even better than that. He almost wished he could give the Beedrill some kind of motivation...
"Go, Beedrill, Go! Beat that stupid ladybug!" came another sudden shout from the small girl, now standing near Ky with her hands cupped around her mouth like a mini megaphone. Encouraged by the girl's random cheer, Ky couldn't help but look down at her and smile.

Sere had watched with George in her lap and Radish at her feet as more and more people piled on to the beach. "Geebus this place is filling up fast." She tried to hide behind the mudkip, but he was starting to wiggle from being held so tightly. "Please tell me George that this was not a bad idea. There are so many people!" Serenity swore that her heart rate rose with every new trainer and pokemon that entered the area. She skooched up closer to the tree trunk, hoping to keep her self out of sight.
One of the trainers caught her attention. A girl about her age with blonde hair wandering around the beach. Sere's heart jumped for a moment as she thought the girl might have noticed her cowering under the tree, but before she could find out if she was spotted or not, the girl was approched by another trainer. The interaction between the other two trainers seemed friendly enough, and before Sere knew it the two were engaged in a gripping battle. From what Serenity could see of it, the poor boy was out mached by type. The girl with the blonde hair and her pokemon ended up winning the battle.
Serenity marvelled at how someone her age seemed so confident in the battle. She looked down at her two pokemon "Do you two think I'll ever manage to be that confident?"
Both Radish and George nodded their heads. George wanted to hope that his trainer would eventually be able to place him in battle with out having to be talked into it first. He was looking forward to actually getting some decent experience. He looked over to the oddish that was playing in the sand at his trainers' feet. He wasn't too sure about her need for experience, but he figured that she would want to grow and evolve as much as he did. The mudkip nuzzled his head into his trainer as a bit of support. He hoped that girl really did come and talk to Sere. She needed to get used to talking to people, not pokemon.

Robin listened to M.A. with a smile on her face. "Yup if you have your Nakama on your side you can do anything!" Grinning to herself she couldn't help but feel a bit giddy at the fact that M.A. didn't make fun of her for the speech. Breaking her out of her giddy state was the cute blonde guy from before and his scary Mightyena. Jumping a bit in surprise at his voice and his big scary pokemon Robin started at him for a moment before giggling slightly nervous her eyes darting between the big dog and the cute blonde. "Umm heh, yeah we are looking for my Aipom. " She paused for a second trying to get some control over herself, not only was there a huge dog but this guy wanted to help her look for her wayward Aipom. "Um sure, of course you can help me look for Luffy, oh that's his name sorry..." Kind of embarrassed Robin rubbed the back of her neck and looked away.
Luffy was munching on a watermelon a few seconds before Daemyn and Tora burst into the street he was in. Eyes going wide Luffy jumped up and spat out a bunch of seeds from the melon right at his demon attackers! Letting out a loud screech he dashed away making a loud mess of sounds. Running down the street and knocking over a lot of other things, most of them trashcans. There was no way that he was going to be caught by those scary demons!

Kasiya jumped back in surprise, her hand digging deep in her pocket for her PokeDex as her Larvitar's body glowed brightly. However, instead of changing shape and growling larger, the light dimmed, and started blinking, pulsing like the beacon from a lighthouse. All at once the light stopped, and Ada looked up at her trainer and whimpered before sitting down in the sand. She was utterly exhausted, and stopping her own evolution just now hadn't been without effort. Tears were welled up in the corners of the Larvitar's eyes and she began to cry loudly.
Kasiya was speechless at such a sight - none of her Pokemon had ever shown hesitation towards evolution before - but after a moment she realized it was just like Ada to not want to evolve. "Shh, it's okay," she said, smiling at her Pokemon. Kasiya plopped herself down cross-legged in the sand beside Adamantine and scooped her up (or more appropriately, dragged her) into her lap. "Don't cry, sweetie," she said gently. "You don't have to evolve if you don't want to... and you know something else? I'll love you no matter what." Instead of calming down though, Ada cried harder, burying her face in Kasiya's stomach. Kasiya chuckled, holding her Pokemon close.
It was then that she noticed the Mudkip girl was watching her and she giggled sheepishly and waved. Before long, though, Ada had cried herself to sleep and with some relief Kasiya recalled the Larvitar, wondering how much longer the Rock-type wanted to be treated like a baby. Kasiya stood up and brushed the sand from her legs before picking up her backpack and heading over towards the girl. The Mudkip seemed friendly enough, and by the way he was looking at her gave Kasiya the impression that he wanted her there. "Hi there!" she said cheerfully, sitting down under one of the trees that the girl was not hiding behind. "Hope I'm not intruding but this seemed like such a nice spot! Oh, and I just love your Mudkip! He's so adorable!" For now she decided against introducing Levi, and instead looked to the Oddish. "Your Oddish is cute too," she added, not wanting to offend the little plant.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan chuckled and looked down at Mightyena, sitting patiently by his side. He'd never realized that he could be so intimidating. Mightyena gave a bit of a toothy grin, obviously enjoying having that kind of power over others. "Don't worry about him, he's very well behaved," Jaeshan said nervously, suddenly wondering if this was such a good idea. It was very late and with the party happening tomorrow he'd wanted to get a good rest. But then again, he wouldn't be able to sleep if he knew a trainer was missing her Pokemon.
He looked around again, wondering just how hard it would be to find an Aipom. He obviously didn't know Luffy, because if he did it probably would have been somewhat of a deterrent. Deciding to keep Mightyena with him, he reached for a Pokeball and released Butterfree. After giving her instructions, he showed her the Aipom entry in his PokeDex so she'd know what she was looking for, and she flew off. "So, should we start looking on foot?" he asked, looking from Robin to M.A. "Oh, and by the way, my name's Jaeshan," he added, holding out a hand for them to shake.

A short walk later the duo found themselves seated inside a very fancy restaurant somewhere close to the casino, and Keegan couldn't help but feel very underdressed and very out of place. Sheena, however, seemed to be used to this sort of thing, but Keegan assumed that being the daughter of the richest man in Hoenn had something to do with that. They'd ordered and were sipping sodas from some very fancy glasses while they waited for their food. Keegan stirred the ice cubes in his glass with a straw, trying anything to make the time go faster. He felt as though every critical eye in the place was on him and it made him feel very uncomfortable. He glanced across the table at Sheena, who was busy studying the drink menu despite the fact that she was too young to order from it. He drummed his fintertips on the table before clearing his throat. "So, what's it like?" he asked suddenly.
Sheena looked up from the menu and tilted her head curiously. "What's what like?"
Keegan hesitated a moment or two before he answered. "...you know. Being a rich person's kid. What's it like?"
Sheena blinked a few times and then laughed. "Well, I don't know. It's all right, I guess."
"It's gotta be more than just all right," Keegan said, folding his arms.
The girl nodded, and laughed again. "Well, for the most part it's pretty cool. My dad's always spoiled my sister and I," she said thoughtfully. Keegan nodded, trying to keep the sarcastic comments that flooded his mind to himself. "And as good and fun as that's always been, at the same time, sometimes I just want to be normal." She sighed and set the menu down on the table. A few moments later, their food arrived, and the two hungry friends exchanged smiles before digging in. ===== Petunia's quick strike was enough to finish the Espeon, and the slender Pokemon's legs trembled beneath it before they gave out completely. Sakura pouted a bit and recalled her Pokemon. "Good show," she said, wearing a broad smile and looking towards her sisters. "Who's next?" she asked.
"I am!" announced Komay, stepping forward. She was already holding up a Pokeball. "Although my Pokemon will be way too hot for your Pinsir to handle!" With those words, she tossed the sphere onto the ground, revealing a healthy-looking Flareon.
Miharu frowned and looked at Petunia. She didn't want to doubt the Stagbeetle, but she was at a definite disadvantage now. Not only that, but the Flareon seemed to be a lot more experienced than Sakura's Espeon. It was obvious by the offensive stance that Petunia took that she wasn't about to back down. The green-haired girl smiled, and nodded. "Well, if that's how you feel about it, then give it your best. Give it a taste of your Vicegrip!" Petunia let out a growl and charged forward - this was what she was born to do!

M.A. had watched curiously at the handsome blonde boy as he stepped forward, leaving Robin to answer the question -- it did refer to her Pokemon, after all. Looked like a nice, cute guy -- must be one, in his offer to help two strangers -- although he did look a bit uncomfortable. Definitely very kind though, she thought again as he had his pretty Beautifly-like Pokemon set off (though she still felt a twinge of adversion to it, as it was a bug after all). Did she mention he was cute?
"Oh! Hello, I'm M.A." she said, breaking her strange silence with a shaky laugh and taking his hand for a brief moment. "Nice to meet cha. And this is Robin," she said with a smile.
Meanwhile... The torrent of seeds hardly affected the tough-skinned rolling ball that was Tora, but it hit Daemyn square in the eyes. Not to mention the seeds that ricocheted off Tora's wildly spinning body that added insult to injury. And if one gets hit in the eyes with wet little black seeds, one may assume that the unfortunate he or she may not be the happiest fellow there is. With a roar of anger, Daemyn collided into the fruit stand before skidding his legs in the correct direction, after Luffy. Tora had gotten rather dizzy at the time and was confused by all the noise -- she crashed and wrecked the entire fruit stand.
Thus a furious Daemyn and a Tora with apple sauce and a water melon hat commenced their chase of their "target."

Now that she new the layout of the city a little better--or at least how to get to the three key places she would need to know the most--, Kurine decided it was time for, yes, more training! She especially wanted to train with her Sentret more, so that he might grow to like her better. Having him couped up in his Poke Ball for so long probably wasn't helping, either.
Kurine walked along the route she was using to get around a couple more times, then turned and headed to the city's exit, soon walking along the path and moving over to the side so that she was wandering in tall grass yet again.
She still wasn't used to the feel of the tall blades of grass brushing against her skin, but forgot about it quickly enough as a Hoothoot hopped in front of her. Kurine glanced at the sky and saw that it was getting quite dark out, only a few rays of the sun left on the horizen. She unclipped a Poke Ball from her belt and pressed the button, tossing it into the air a bit as her Sentret appeared in the beam of red light, still looking quite unhappy.

When the girl sat down not far from her Serenity had to keep herself from looking at her as though she was some sort of weird alien type being. Insted she looked down at her mudkip. It was even more strange when she started talking to her. This girl who had just very much impressed her with her pokemon sat down...next to Sere.
"Hi." Was all the shy girl managed to get out. She hoped it was louder than the whisper it sounded like to her ears. Sere could feel the blush running to her cheaks.
George for one was happy to see the strong trainer start talking to Sere. He squiggled out of his trainers arms and hopped over to the new girl, poking her leg softly with his flipper, just to see what she would do. Soon Radish joined him, and the two pokemon bounced up and down to try and get the trainer to react. For her part Sere giggled at the silliness of her two pokemon, and wondered if they would grow out of that stage. She hoped not. She liked laughing, and she enjoyed having other things around that were as sill as she was.
"Thank you." She whispered again. "That's George." She said pointing to the mudkip. Serenity reached over and picked up the tiny plant, offering for the first time since it was caught it's own chance to nuzzle up to it's trainer. "This here is Radish."

Keegan pondered Sheena's response to his questions as he enjoyed his pasta, very glad he'd chosen to order it. The sauce was very tasty and the noodles were cooked to the perfect consistency. Top it off with a snowy field of Parmesan cheese and it was heaven on a plate. However, Keegan reminded himself of where he was and he somehow managed to remember his table manners and not completely embarrass himself and Sheena in the process. As he twirled a bit of pasta on his fork he looked up at his dinner companion. Sheena had ordered something similar, although instead of a red sauce she'd gone with Alfredo. He couldn't help but think about the answers she'd given him, though.
There had been so many times that he'd thought that if his family had more money then things wouldn't be so rough. Sure, running a breeding facility was definitely a profitable business, but if trainers weren't commissioning Pokemon, there was no money to be made. Sheena excused herself and got up from the table, leaving Keegan to his own thoughts for a while. He was starting to think that there was more to Sheena than just a hyper, overbearing and incredibly annoying side. The redhead sighed, tapping his fork lightly against the table. He closed his eyes and wondered what Kasiya was up to at the moment, and he couldn't help but hope that she wasn't getting herself into trouble.
Sheena came back after a few minutes and they finished their meals in silence. Despite Keegan's insistence, the pink-haired girl paid the bill and left a generous tip for their server before they headed outside. There was still an hour or so of daylight left, and Keegan wasn't ready to turn in for the night, especially not so early. He turned to Sheena and shrugged. "So what now?" ===== "Dodge and counter with Ember!" Komay shouted quickly, upon seeing the Pinsir charging at her Pokemon. Flareon crouched low to the ground before darting off to the right, scarcely avoiding getting hit by Petunia and her deadly horns. It barked sharply and turned on a heel, opening its mouth and firing out a small burst of flames at the prone Pinsir. Petunia took a direct hit to her left side and she let out a loud screech of pain before she backpedaled.
Miharu winced at the sight of it, and knew that another attack like that would put Petunia down. "Try a Seismic Toss!" she called, her hand clutching Petunia's Park Ball tightly so she could return her in a pinch.
"You don't know when to quit!" Komay laughed, pointing at the beetle. "Flareon, give it another Ember!" The fiery Pokemon let out another bark and opened its mouth, sending more flames Petunia's way. The Pinsir was surprisingly fast, and crouched low before leaping up and over the Flareon. She landed deftly on the ground behind it and snatched it up with her clawed hands. Growling, Petunia swung the fox around with little effort before letting go. Now, Flareon weren't the most agile of the Eevee-evolution line, but it did manage to twist around in mid air and land on its feet to cushion its landing. It glared at Petunia, wanting to bring the Pinsir down oh-so badly.

"It's very nice to meet both of you," Kasiya nodded, acknowledging both the Pokemon as she was introduced. The Mudkip seemed to be quite brave and she was strongly reminded of another Mudkip who acted very similar. She reached down to pat the little mud fish, wondering if someday he would choose to evolve, or stay as is, just like Ada. After a moment or two, Kasiya looked up at the girl and smiled again. She seemed to be very shy and reserved and Kasiya couldn't help but wonder if maybe she was intruding.
"My name is Kasiya," she added after a few additional moments of silence, quickly banishing her previous thoughts. After all, in her travels Kasiya had found that not many people were as outgoing and friendly as she was, but that didn't mean there were still plenty of potential friends out there. She leaned back against the tree, holding her backpack in her lap. She could swear she felt the egg moving around vigorously even though it was safely tucked inside and swaddled by several layers of her clothing. Gee, I hope my stuff doesn't get burned... she thought, blinking slowly. She also felt one of her Pokeballs wiggling around and sure enough, Leviathan popped out of her Pokeball, obviously having tired of being confined for the moment. "Hello Levi," the trainer giggled as the Marshtomp plodded over to her and hugged her. With the girl being seated, Levi came up well past her shoulder, and Kasiya was sure she'd grown again.
It was then that she noticed the little blue Mudkip sitting nearby, and Levi waved at him rather enthusiastically. This caught Kasiya by surprise, as Levi had a tendency to hate males, be them humans or Pokemon. After a moment's thought Kasiya came to the conclusion that George got a free pass because they were of the same species line. "This is George and Radish," Kasiya said, pointing to the Mudkip and Oddish before smiling down at her own Pokemon. "This here is Leviathan, or Levi for short."

"I am Serenity." She said. She leaned back against the tree. She wasn't sure how to talk to Kasiya. There were things she wanted to ask, like how come the whole beach had been invaded, and how old her pokemon were. Before she got a chance though there was a little flash of light and a Marshtomp popped out of a pokeball. Serenity couldn't lie she was very interested in seeing it. It had been a long while since she'd seen a Marshtomp, and she was sure her George hadn't seen one at all.
George was excited. He recognized some of the markings on the pokemon and realized that this is what he would look like if he got older. When the Pokemon waved at him he bounced and waved back. Radish on the other hand, was curious. She figured that this is what George would look like later, but it made her want to know what she would grow up into. Radish snuggled in closer to her trainer.
"Hi Levi." Sere said after Kasiya had introduced her pokemon. She was excited to see that this other trainer had gotten hugs from her pokemon as well. It made it less strange that her pokemon sat up on her lap.
"So Kasiya...are you here for the lecture tomorrow too? Or just for the party?" Her voice was hesitant, but a bit louder than it had been when the girl first sat down next to her.
