If it was there, it was just a speck of Lin, she couldn't see what Haradhel saw. She blinked in the general area a few times, tilted her head and blinked again. No, she couldn't see it at all and shrugged.

"It's too far away."

"Ah, I had forgot," Haradhel murmured. "You haven't got the eyes of the elves ... and it is quite a few miles away. The Old City is at the base of the mountain, located on an island ... because of the spring here, the elves built on the mountain rather than rebuilding on the island. It makes sense in other manners as well, though. It's defences are far more sound, from a military point of view it's perfect."

"Oh....." Lin murmured as she looked out into the desert.

She would suppose so, from here you could see everything, well almost anyhow. Since everyone who trained was up here then they could see if there was trouble and be able to stop it.

"Though you can see a lot from here... if there was a lot to see..."

"There is if you have elves' eyes," Haradhel smiled sadly. "There's so much that you're missing out on ... I wish I could show you somehow. Perhaps when you've grown you can go out with Prince Daeron on some of his trips, he likes to travel a lot."

"Well I won't be grown for a long while and I'm waiting to grow big enough so I can go sailing," Lin replied back with a smile.

She wasn't sure if they still would but since he was still here, she was sure he was still waiting for her to grow up.

"Sailing?" Haradhel repeated curiously as they reached the top of the mountain stairs. "That's interesting. Where did you get that idea from?"

She hadn't heard anyone talk of sailing before, nor had she ever heard of other lands that could be sailed to.

Celebor was glad to see that they were finished with the stairs, and, spotting the spring just ahead on a little side-path, he darted forward and stuck his head into the little pool it created. Once he was sufficiently cooled off, he cupped some water into his hands and drank deeply, then trickled it down his chest and back.

"Earendil," Lin replied back softly, "He was talking about sailing, but I can't go anywhere until I'm big and well learned, but I need to get big first."

She nodded, she couldn't wait even though she didn't see any oceans around, in fact she has never seen an ocean before now that she thought about it.

Refreshed now, Celebor ran back and grabbed Haradhel's hand again, grinning up at her.

"Can we go see the stuff now?" he asked eagerly. "I wanna see all the people training and I wanna do some training, too!"

And he wanted to show off his katas, and see if she would let him try a weapon, like she had offered to Lin!

Haradhel laughed at Celebor. "Of course we can," she told him with a grin. "Just stay close, I don't want any accidents."

To Lin, she nodded thoughtfully.

"I had no idea that Prince Earendil was interested in sailing at all, or traveling for that matter," she commented curiously. "But then, we don't really talk a whole lot ... usually we just spar together."

Come to think of it, he was likely up there at the moment as well.

"Well... we were kind of talking about it, and I wanted to go sailing too, but I have to be bigger. So maybe when I'm bigger we could try that," Lin replied softly.

She wasn't sure if anyone was suppose to know that, since she had a feeling it wasn't something he talked about that often.

"Well, it sounds like something he might enjoy," Haradhel nodded thoughtfully, "though I have to admit I'm a little surprised ... he shows no inclination to leave the castle at all ..."

"Well... we I first came, we were talking about how it would be neat if Earendil visited me, but I don't think Luthien was thrilled about the idea," Lin admitted.

She would really like to show Earendil around, but it meant that a long time would pass here if he came with her.

Haradhel nodded. "Aye, well, I can see why. Prince Earendil is Lady Luthien's ... well, I suppose he's her favourite in a way ... Princess Tinuviel of course is special to her as well, though Prince Ruel has laid a special claim on her. But Prince Earendil ... keeps her sane, I suppose. He dotes on her, and I don't know if she could do without him, despite his age."

She wondered exactly how much she should say.

"But Ruel does that too, I mean... when he's not working," Lin couldn't imagine it but she supposed it a way it made sense, "But then again Daeron isn't around much. At least if anyone left back home, Mommy has a lot of other people and Daddy works with her all the time."

And there were always new siblings and grand children, so she supposed that made sense.

"Would that mean she would be very upset if he decided to go exploring?"
