She looked up at him for a long time, turning over and over in her head what to say and how to say it. Finally, she sighed, weakly, mumbling, in a soft, unsteady voice,
"He hurt my brother and sister."

Saber stared at her for a moment, wondering who she meant. "He?" Her voice flittered through his mind for a moment, his eyes shifting from her face to her shoulder that bared the painful scar. It would make sense since she was rather upset. Saber swallowed. So the guy had come back...but why? "Are they okay? Where were they attacked?"

She nodded, slowly, chewing her bottom lip and continued, unsteadily,
"The . . . . the cemetary. Canit, she's okay, but Suru . . . Suru had o go to the hospital, for . . . . for ten stitches, and three fractured ribs."

Saber lightly rubbed her shoulders then hugged her close. "I'm sorry they were attacked...but they both have many who care about them. They'll be alright." He lifted her chin, kissing her lips gently. "But none of this was your fault. You nor your siblings knew he was here." He nuzzled her neck in comfort, wishing he could cheer her up in some way. "Would you like to just take a walk with me? Clear your head and such. Maybe I could take you by my new place."

She nodded, slowly, sniffling, curling in closer.
"You have to make me a promise first. A serious promise. And you can't break it."
She hugged him tighter, knowing how hard it would be for him to promise her what she wanted. But he had to. He simply had to . . .

Saber held onto her, not answering at first. A serious promise.... Could he agree? Her sister and brother had just been hurt. He wanted to kill the guy for that...and for all the other things he'd done to Opheliah in the past. But if a promise was what she wanted then he would make it. He loved her too much not to. "I...okay...but what is it that I must promise?"

She took a deep breath, leaning into his ear, holding close, still, and murmured, softly,
"You have to promise me that you won't fight him. Or try. Ever. Promise me."

Saber blinked then shut his eyes for a moment. He wanted to promise her he wouldn't...but it didn't seem fair. "But...why not? Especially after all he's done. He can't be allowed to just get away with it. What if he attacks again? Or if he finds you and hurts you? Am I supposed to just sit back and watch?" He took a deep breath, not wanting this to escalate into an arguement. "I'm just concerned with your safety as well as you siblings. If you want, I won't go out looking for him...but if he finds me or you or whatever then I'm not going to hesitiate to defend and fight."

She nodded, slowly, after having turned it over in her head a moment. Finally, she murmured,
"All right, a comprimise. If you must, defend, but nonly if he tries to hurt us. Do not go after him without an imminent threat. Please?"
She looked up at him again, chewing her bottom lip anxiously.

"And if he goes after me." Saber nodded in agreement though he knew it'd be tough to do nothing if he happened to see the guy walking down the street or something. "And now that our agreement's been made, how about we go for a walk. Showing you my new place is still an offer."

She beamed, softly, slowly, nodding. Before standing and stretching, she leaned in, kissing him softly on the mouth, murmuring,
"I love you, Saber."

Saber smiled and kissed her back, letting his lips linger on hers for a moment. "I love you too, Opheliah." He kissed her once more then took her hand to lead her away to his place.

She shut and locked the door as they slipped out, hen clasped his hand tightly, following him out and away.

Lacuna shifted in the bed and yawned, rolling over only to find her lovely Suru. She smiled and kissed him on the cheek, Suru was a heavy sleeper, so it couldn't possibly hurt.
