"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," Karmen said, still holding onto Zack's arm to keep him from going.

Zack snarled. "Impossible."
((Sorry for the one-liners, but in a conversation it's unavoidable.))

((I don't mind.))
"Fine," Karmen said. Then she opened the door to a nearby cabin and pulled Zack inside. She closed the door after the two were in there. "All right. Here's the truth. My friend and I were shooting at the employee because...," she started but stopped. "Damn. This is gonna be harder than I thought..." she said, mostly to herself.

Zack raised an eyebrow but did not speak. They were in a small cabin, unused at the moment, and the lights were out. Brought wrong thoughts to the mind.
Zack did not reply, only waited for the truth. In the dark, his expression would matter little.

Karmen just realized that it was dark in there. She went over to the light switch and flipped it on. "Okay. That's better. Now let's see..." she said.
Karmen took a deep breath. Then she began, "The employee is named Travis. And... he's a werewolf. And his dark werewolf side had taken over his good human side for several years now. But Natsumi, the other girl you saw, made a prototype drug that can suppress the wolf hormones in a werewolf. So she shot darts filled with that drug at him. I shot at him as well, to distract him from the darts. Since he's a werewolf, he didn't get hurt, but he did get hit with a dart. So now his human side is in control. That's why Travis and Natsumi are being friendly with each other now."

Zack's expression was unreadable, like he wanted it to be. "Right," he responded, though in his head he was thinking of all the books and movies he'd ever read or watched, and how something like this happens - but the person isn't believed.
Karmen could have watched those movies, read those books, and just be too pumped full of drama.
But, oddly enough, Zack felt as if he believed her. Even if he didn't show it.

Karmen couldn't tell if the guy believed him or not. He probably didn't. Not many would. "Doubt you believe me, but hey, you wanted the truth," she said to him.

Just then, Austin and Heather walked by, laughing and chatting, having a good time on their way to the pool.
Heather.
Without another thought, Zack opened the door and walked through, stopping in front of them. "You two might want to avoid swimming at the moment," he told them.
Both sent confused stares his way.
"I mean," Zack restated, impatiently, "that it wouldn't be a good idea. Almost sunset. We should, ah... it gets cold at sunset."
Austin looked at Zack quizzically, but accepted the lie for now. Heather also looked at Zack strange, but turned and walked back to their neighboring cabins in which each could change.
Neighboring cabins, as in, one for Heather and one for Zack and Austin to bunk in.

Karmen stepped out of the cabin and began to walk down the hallway. There was no point in her staying in that cabin anymore.

Reina was wondering how many other humans now knew about the real deal with the ship they were now aboard. She didn't thin any of them would believe her if she tried to tell them, but then again they might. She looked out on the water and figured that the sun was going down soon anyway and they'd figure it out.

((Zack knows about the hunt... sort of. Travis and Natsumi - dancing still.))
After some time, Austin finished changing into his regular clothes. Heather had stopped waiting for him after the first ten minutes, so now he was alone.
Austin wandered into the dining hall, and sat down for dinner. He sent a text message over his cellular phone to Heather and Zack, telling both that he was going to eat.
~
Zack received the message and, after some thought, decided that he wouldn't mind 'chowing,' either. He made his way back into the dining hall, and sat across from Austin.
~
Heather received the message, but did not look at it. Instead, she was upstairs admiring the sunset. Its brilliant, glorified rays of orange, yellow, red, and every color in between stood out magnificently against the sky of light and dark blues, purples and indigos, violets and yellows, and even a small speck of green at some point.
Heather would say, for the rest of her life, however long that may be, that it was the most beautiful sunset she had ever seen.
