Sirius Silverstar My sisters are going through some sort of "J-Pop" phase, which entails watching Japanese dramas, giggling over boy bands, and obsessing over hot celebrity guys. So basically the regular teenage girl phase...just with a Japanese flavor. I've seen a lot of girls go through that, luckily I don't think it ever lasts all that long.

I think it went from the Spice Girls first album to the Backstreet Boys first album. And even then, it wasn't something I really talked about. It was more of a guilty pleasure. And yet... my mom still buys me every Backstreet Boys album that comes out. She probably just says she got them for me to annoy me. I KNOW she listens to them.

Nobody calls me a "disillusioned Asian girl who over-identifies with her white oppressors" when I say I like Tom Hanks and Ben Folds. 4laugh Since they started by watching YouTube videos of a Japanese celebrity [Yamapi], in trying to research him and find more videos, other Japanese celebrity names were dropped in articles and interviews and whatnot, making it easier to get into the whole J-Pop thing. But a cute guy is a cute guy, regardless of where he's from. x] This is Cyriistar's current crush, Ryo Nishikido:  This is Rad's current crush, Jin Akanishi:  And I don't have one, but this is my favorite picture from my sister's collection - Masunobu Ando, aka crazy killing machine from Battle Royale. He looks like an Asian version of Ben Folds. And like Ben Folds, he is in his 30's. 4laugh heart  ... and Ben Folds in comparison: [ x] I think all four girls in this family have given up on finding a nice handsome Vietnamese boy to bring home. It's hard to find one who speaks English, or doesn't have his standards set to "ridiculously hot skinny Asian girl". Plus, I've already found a nice man. ♥
