A blink at his son. "Where are your boots?" He usually wore his own under his pirate play ones that used to be Sevilin's own, but sometimes he didn't. Whatever the boy felt like at that time. "No damsels huh? Well...hope you didn't eat too much treasure...might weigh you down and then you'd have to walk around all funny." A look back to Zahara. "Don't worry about it, I'm sure I can handle it on my own."
"But you own lots of stuff." How much more was there to honestly own? Of course in his eyes, daddy was the be all and end all of such things and so on and so forth. Though he took on that cute little thinking look he has acquired from his mother and then nodded. "Trade is good." There, now he felt he knew what he was talking about and was involved. "Can I watch?"
"No you can't." Because the keyword in that sentence was Malvolence and they both had the agreement that the boy didn't need to be exposed to that thing. Though yes there were times where Malik had convinced her it was alright. But she was still reserved about it from time to time...even if it did get her a pout from him and a little frown...which only got him tickled to make him laugh. Though it seemed the little problem was dissolved seeing as Arthur had slunk off.
Of course in response to tickling, he squirmed and tried to grab his mother's hands but when that didn't prove good it was time to reach for daddy to save him.

"In the nursery. I kicked them off when we started playing, Daddy. Want me to get them and put 'em back on?" He was ready to do whatever daddy wanted him to do. He giggled and patted his tummy then shook his head. "I don't htink so 'cause you wouldn't be able to carry me either." Of course it would be an awful lot of cookies he would have to eat before Sevilin wouldn't be able to lift him. In his eyes his daddy was the strongest, smartest, everything-est there was, in layman's terms, his daddy was the best.
Zahara shrugged, "I'm sure I can do it, I'd just like to know what it entails. Besides you want some time to spend with your son and I can handle runes. You taught me well." A tap of her nails and quick scan of figures before she shut the books in front her and stretched. Sevilin's appearance meant he had either finished early or it was dinnertime. Her stomach was telling her it was about that time. "I'll get them." She stood up and walked upstairs and grabbed Zykariel's boots and socks, shaking her head lightly. That boy and socks, he kicked htem off the moment he could much to Nym's delight. She nabbed his little cloak where it was slung over a child sized chair. Coming back she set the boots down on the ground, his socks inside and sat down with his cloak draped over her lap. It was about time for them to go home anyway. Dinner to be made and the child to get settled for the evening.

"There's much more to the world than you've seen yet, my son. even I haven't traversed the entire Underdark."
though a look to Piper at her immediate no, and a small chuckle.
"In time, Malikhai, we'll let you learn more about Malvolence. but it's not something you are ready for. I was much, much older than you when I first laid my hands on it, and I wasn't prepared either. the results are very dangerous."
Before picking him up from mom and holding him in his lap. Had to save him from the tickling fiend.

"Long as you eat dinner." Not having to worry about his shoes seeing as Zahara had offered to go get those and had duely come back with the articles. Thus Zykariel was set down on the edge of the table and Sevilin picked up his socks and shoes, going about putting them back on the boy. Seemed it was that about to pack up and go. Thus picking him up again and setting him on the floor then. "Tell Malikhai goodbye."
Of course now being free from tickling, he could concentrate. He wasn't sure if dad was telling the truth, but he wouldn't of lied. "If you say so." Thus settling down in his lap then, holding onto his shirt and a little nod. "I can wait then." Yes he was a very compliant child wasn't he? Well unless he threw a tantrum. "Will I be old enough tomorrow?"
Piper merely gave a smile. It was just so nice to watch them sometimes of course followed by a light chuckle. "Maybe in a few years, sweetheart." Her look turned to Zahara a moment though, yes it was those preparing to leave motions that were familiar.

Zykariel going through his independent streak immediately protested. "I wanna do it!" Reaching his little hand down and pulling on his socks and shoes then allowing him to tie them because he couldn't quite do that yet. He looked up at his father with that pouting look but sighed. "Bye bye Malikhai. Don't worry, I'll come back tomorror. We always do." An emphatic nod to that and he started walking towards the door.
Zahara picked up those books, to give them a deeper scrutiny this evening and went about packing them into her bag that she usually had with her, looping it over her shoulder and standing as well, draping the boy's cloak over his shoulders and then spinning him so she could fasten it. "Well Piper, I guess I'll see you later."

She frowned. "War? Shouldn't I be helping or something?" Vauge recolections of being half elf in her sleep clogged mind.
"Romeo and Juliet? Isn't that the one where the guy's a pansy?"
The boat came to the shores of the Purian Penisula, where it was apparent the war was upon them already. People were rushing everywhere in a healthy mix of hustle and bustle and assoted commotion. "Tools, weapons, it matters not to me anymore what I am. I only care what I can do. That is my obligation as an elf."
"Are you prepared to fight?"

"Nah, the other guys got it under control."
A slight smirk.
"No, that's Hamlet. Romeo and Juliet is the star crossed lovers thing."
Of course after Sevilin and Zahara left, a slight grin to Piper.
"Did I miss hear that comment, or did Arthur refer to Zahara as Amael?"
Orcs collided with Elves, and even with thier forces torn open by Tarathiel's former crew, they still outnumbered the elves by a signifigant number. and they cut down with deadly precision. they were organized, and any weakness in the defenders was quickly found and expoilted to the best of thier skill. battlecries and deathscreams mingled in the air as blood spilled all over the ground.

Of course he gave a little sigh and that slightly upset pouty tone that children often got when it meant play was coming to an end and he waved to his friend. "Bye Zykariel." Of coruse with his friend's departure, it was time to turn his attention fully on his every loving parents and tilting his head in the right way to keep the feathers of his hat out of his father's face, daddy didn't appreciate being whacked in the face with brightly colored plumes.
Sevilin merely rolled his eyes and shook his head, letting Zykariel do his own thing. That notorious independant streak...sometimes it made you want to hit your head against the wall. Then waiting for the boys to say goodbye before taking his son by the hand, heading out with him and Zahara. "Tomorrow D'vinns." Ah yes, back to the wonderful privacy of his own little keep. Much loved.
Piper gave a little nod. "Till then Zahara." And promptly went about picking up her half of the spread out papers and books and what not since Malik had hold of Malikhai for the time being. Of course taking a moment to tuck her hair behind her ear, it had a tendency to fall of its own accord these days. But a smile and a look to Malik. "Not A'mael, but Mela...not exactly the smae, but close enough. Though I don't think she knows that that means 'love'. Then again I really don't try to pry into that little relationship triangle." She had just taken the smart route and had shut up about it...didn't agree...but still she didn't say anything. "Please don't tell me you intend to torture him with it or some such thing."

"why not? could be fun."
A slight chuckle, holding his son on his lap. though a glance at his boy, and then one to Piper.
"Magic."
That's all he had to say. of course the idea was to be able to ask about things without pressuring or building up thier childs expectations of getting something. Malikhai did have a tendency to throw tantrums, adn rather long, nasty ones, when he really wanted something he wasn't allowed to have.
the basic question was two part. had he shown any, and was it a good thing to teach him. and then of course, what kind.

Zykariel chattered to his father the whole way home about what he and Malikhai had done that day, swinging his hand as they walked along in the Underdark. He enjoyed these times with Daddy. Mother always rode her horse so she was home long before they were and that was okay with him. She liked to have dinner started by the time they got home. Maybe she was making chicken nuggets for him tonight. That would be yummy. "Daddy? How come you have to work?"
Zahara was indeed riding Faete home, then settling him in the stable she'd coerced Sevilin to build for her and into the house, working on the boys' dinner. She enjoyed these quiet moments alone where she could have some time to just think. She'd often thought about writing things in a journal at times like these but journals were found and read and the sorts of thoughts tumbling weren't things she wanted the entirety of the plane to know. She shoved the chicken into the stove to allow it to cook and sat down at the table, sighing indulging in the relaxation she felt she needed. Sometimes things were terribly simple, weren't they?

"Because that's a fight just better not getting tangled up in? Remember last time we meddled in such affairs, and it ended in broken noses and arguments and so on and so forth? Have to learn from these mistakes. Besides, you torture him enough as it is." Next thing you'd know he'd have Malikhai sparring against the elf and making Arthur throw the 'matches' just to boost the toddler's ego. Though her attention again focused on her husband and thier son as she leaned against the edge of the table on her hip and crossed her arms, giving it a moment of thought. Yes, magic, that had been a subject of late, after all he was elven and elves did start their formal learning early...besides discovered and uncontrolled magic was just a bad thing. And yes, he had the makings of magic in him...probably got most of it from Malik. Talking over the boy's head with such short cut sentences. "Yes, I suppose so. But just little things right now." Especially since the two toddlers had an influence on each other and it was no secret that Zykariel's own tantrums or crying had a tendency to cause glass to break. Malik, always wanting to make sure he was doing for that boy what was best and that included making him as self aware of what he could do and be. It was cute.
Yes, holding his son by one hand, petting Nym who had taken residence on his shoulder again with the other as he listened to the boy go on and on and on about the day's events. While that may of been annoying to some parents, it wasn't to him. Hell, he never had a true childhood and one could say that he was vicariously having one through his son. Thus the chatter was welcome.
"Well, I have to work so we can buy things to live with." Sure Malik would probably give them anything he needed, but he liked to earn his keep, not be treated like the dog who got treated well for bringing in the paper and warding off the burglars. "And for cookies." Because cookies was always answer number two to any toddler like question. And by this point in that traditional walk home he picked the boy up so he could take his normal strides and thus get home at a decent time.

It didn't take long for the orcs to realize they had fallen into a very serious trap. The number of elvish defenders showed a delaying tactic, coinciding with a drawing one. Though the defenders fell in great numbers rapidly, for eac elf slain, four or five orcs accompanied him. For each half elf slain, two or three orcs went to hell. The carnage was almost pointless.
Meilikki's slaves could not pass the oppurtunity to destory something, after such a long absence of any adventure. The elves of the Integrity could not alow dangers to pass onto the elves without trying to do something, so they to joined in the prepriations. But the most beneficial aspect of this battle was a little seen or known summoner.
The orcs were confident in their victory, very confident. Alas, all good things must come to an end. For when the elves seemed pressed to their limit, a very large (fifty feet tall, and about that long) dragon condensed from etharial pyreflies behind the orcish lines. It was a massive sight to behold. It swung its tail in an arc, taking out entire phalanxes with a single swoop of its tail. They were not all killed, for the force of the blow mostly knocked them aside. What really had to worry the orcs, was the breath weapon. Infront of the dragon's maw, a great ball of energy gathered. Then, with almost unbelievable speed, it was released onto the lines. The resulting explosion caused a crator to form where the cetral lines once were marching in their tight formations. It was rather bright, blinding almost everyone within fify feet of the explosion, but that was a passing moment. The battle continued, as two more explosive beams shot from the dragon. Beo tired after that, and simply lay ontop of phalanx, crushing them under his weight before returning to his unkown origins.
After Beo left, another creature replaced him. A much longer and slender looking serpent, who looked rather helpless without the sea. Than screached at the orcs, and swatted their lines with his tail. Anything greater than two lines thick was crushed first, followed by anything with less than that. This continued for some time, until he grew tired as well, and likewise vapourized.
Stoneshaper shoke the earth above the orcs, causing massive builders (mostly weakened by the explosion) to fall upon the army. He managed this from the comfort of Meilikki's house, watching the battle in a pool of water. He was exiled from Puria, so he did not see any reason to be present.
Fin pulled his cloak off his shoulders, and wraped it about himself to cover his armor. He followed Leaf until they reached the tertiary defence lines, where the most of the Purian army had gathered. "I am always ready to fight." His tone reflected that he definate thought the question beyond stupid. "Why is there a single black clad figure in the secondary post?" He asked as he noticed the obvious hole in the defences. It must be a mage. Who else could take on an army by himself.

"Cookies are good. Is that why Malikhai's Daddy works sometimes too? So he can get cookies for Khai?" Though he didn't see Malikhai's dad working as much as his did but he'd go by whatever Daddy said. He was used to being picked up at a certain point and just settled in his father's arms though the moment they came through the door he called out, "Zara, we're home."
Zahara chuckled softly and shook her head. Sevilin used to say it, and now Zykariel did. She tapped her fingers lightly on the counter where she was slicing veggies and called back, "In the kitchen." Her knife moved in quick, precise movements chopping down the vegetables until she dumped the cutting board into the pot and put it onto boil. "You boys hungry?" Stupid question maybe, but it was kind of nice to say sometimes.

"Yup, that's exactly right. Of course there's always other food, and clothes, and toys, and what not. But mostly cookies." Yes, go with the cookie thing always, though Sevilin had no idea what he was going to use when Zykariel grew out of the cookie phase. Stepping into the house, he set his son down and took off his cloak. "Go put up your playthings and wash your hands."
A little pat on the behind to get the boy going as he proceeded to the kitchen to see what indeed was going on. And of course waiting for the boy to be out of ear range before he said anything to Zahara. "Please don't tell me we're having chicken nuggets again. Or anything you can eat without a fork for that matter." Heh, child food...

Zykariel scampered up the stairs and kicked off his boots, tore off his socks and tossed them into the basket like he knew to do and pulled off his pirate items, storing them in his room. He really should have left them at Khai's since that's where they usually played but he'd forgotten in the rush of getting home. But now it was put away, it's right place so Daddy didn't get upset and he'd bring it back to Khai's tomorrow. Then into 'his' bathroom, which was just the bathroom in the hallway but he was the only one who used it and he pushed his little stool over to the sink then hopped up on it and began to wash his hands. After about ten minutes of playing in the soap bubbles he made, he picked up the towel and dried them really well then scampered back downstairs. "When's dinner, Zara? I'm hungry."
She raised an eyebrow at Sevilin and paused with the knife in her hand. "Well, we're having chicken, but not chicken nuggets." Hmm, she had been making a lot of child food lately to keep Zykariel happy, mostly finger foods and spaghetti. Perhaps it was time to spoil Sevilin a bit too. That was definitely a novel idea now wasn't it? "You can eat it with a fork if you want?" she lifted her hands to him in a shrug, since it was a little late to change it now and handed him plates and whatnot to set hte table with. "Well good. Because dinner's just about ready. Here, help your father set the table." He got handed hte napkins and forks because he was just too little to handle plates and glasses. Last thing she needed was her china broken.
