I'm still confused. o.O

Basically i think its +5-15 on whatever your hit was going to be. So if you land a special it will always hit at least 5.

But I've hit 0s with the special before! gonk

Then the special was probably blocked.

It's a ******** Dust Devil! It can't block s**t! scream

Its special attack, "Saradomin's Lightning," adds 5-17 extra magic-based damage to the standard melee attack and raises the maximum inflicted damage by 1-2. The special attack appears to round up. For example, if the hit is calculated as a 32.61 then it will register as a 33. Players receive magic experience for using this special. Essentially, the special deals two attacks: the melee attack that the player would normally have hit without the special, and an extra magical attack that can deal 5-20 damage. However, both attacks can miss."
