Foetus In Fetu I wish someone else here watched Doctor Who, lol. I feel like I could post all the spoilers I want and none of you would even care. Anyway. I'm happy because I finished my exams for the week, and there's a new episode of Doctor Who tomorrow. Forecast says awesomeness and cliffhanger resolution (and inevitably as it's the second in a three-parter, a new cliffhanger). Tell me what it is about again. Maybe I will watch it.

So, in the series you watch, there are three seasons? Another question...Is Rose the first episode?

Rose is the first episode of "New" Who. There's actually something like thirty seasons total -- "Old" Who had something like a forty year run. But yeah, we're on the third season of "New" Who.
It's basically a lighthearted sci-fi/fantasy adventure. The basic premise is -- the Doctor is a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. He travels around in a vehicle called the Time And Relative Dimension in Space, or TARDIS (which has a chameleon circuit that automatically makes it blend in with its surroundings... except that it got broken while he was in 1960s England and has been stuck in Police Box mode ever since). He takes companions along for the ride. They have adventures. Fun, pseudoscience and hilarity ensue.
It's a big thing in Britain.
EDIT: My personal favourite episodes are The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace and Blink. Just really well-written episodes.
Also, you'll probably find that most Americans have really hokey and inauthentic accents. Think of it as karma for all the bad portrayals of British accents on American television, lol.

Uh Wow....attacking manicans, garbage cans that eat people, cheesy special effects...What a cheesy poor-constructed pilot that was.

It's been a while since I watched Rose. neutral
But I'll agree that there are episodes which are a bit hokey. And not that great. So that's probably a valid assessment.

I'll watch another one later but...My expectations aren't too high. There were some parts that were funny though...I don't really care for Rose..And the Doctor is ok. I dislike the mom.

Mmm, to be fair if it's not to your taste then it's not to your taste -- but if you watch another episode, make it The Empty Child. It's really the best episode in the first series (in my opinion), and continuity's not that big a deal considering the show's basic premise is time travel.

24 -- yes; Prison Break -- yes; Lost -- yes; Bones -- only on digital (but I think it's a freeview channel); the others -- no.
I have no idea what the deal with SV is at the moment. New seasons used to start airing on E4 about a month after they started in America and then repeat on C4 about six months after that, but because the WB has changed to the CW and the CW doesn't have ties with broadcasting companies in the UK season six hasn't started airing here yet (that I know of) and I don't know whether it will or not. ITV2 showed seasons one and two recently, though, and they also show Supernatural.

clueless-in-the-forest Hidden Palms was absolutely crazy! eek heart I could have told you that from the commercials! JK. Foetus In Fetu Yeah, you just make crappy American remakes. [/bitter] That we do. We aren't creative enough to have our own ideas. We just redo all the old ones. And when we do have our own show, it is total crap. Take Hidden Palms for instance. (JK Clue!) All we have are crappy crappy reality shows. 3nodding
