I don't think I ever introduced myself. So, yeah. I'm Dave. Currently in the Navy, stationed in Japan. Trying to get my tournament pokemon set up so I can enter into my Division's tournament on the boat whenever it goes on.

Hi!
I'm Kana, and have been playing Pokemon since Red version.
My goal is to find some folks to battle, trade, and such with regularly on X/Y.
This guild looked like an awesome way to accomplish that, so I joined.
A bit about me: I'm 24, in a master's program, and I play pokemon to give my brain a break from reading.
I'm glad to be here biggrin

Hi all,
I've recently gotten back into playing Pokemon... Or As I prefer to call it "Pokermaanz". I started way back in red and blue and still have active saves on my cartridges with a usable gameboy and link cable (bring it on).
We had a fad sweep through my office which tweaked my min-maxing urges and I got hooked again. With all the new (well new to me) features like "breeding" and "more than 151 pokemon" I have a lot of catch up to do, but I am doing that fast. I'm playing through Pt, HG, SS, B, W, B2, W2, X and Y at present. Mostly focusing on X & Y. At the moment I am learing breeding and trying to wrap my head around egg moves and combos and getting high IV pokmon as such I am hunting ditto safaris.

Its difficult enough trying to make them like enough to breed alone.

At the moment I am learing breeding and trying to wrap my head around egg moves and combos and getting high IV pokmon as such I am hunting ditto safaris. I do have a guide back from Gen 4 (Diamond & Pearl) which gives the basics of breeding here, although outdated by 2 generations of information. Breeding for egg moves is much more simple now then it has ever been, as back in Gen 4 only males could pass on egg moves thus making breeding chains quite complex but now with females also being able to pass down egg moves as well, obtaining any egg move combination is possible. If you have any questions, on egg moves or breeding in general, feel free to ask. There are plenty of experienced Pokemon breeders about. With that being said, welcome aboard. pirate Trunksmad I decided its best not bother with it. Its difficult enough trying to make them like enough to breed alone. There are a number of things that actually influence the compatibility of two Pokemon, (and really aren't that difficult at all if you know what to look for). A quick break down for you (whether you choose to use it or not):
“The two prefer to play with other Pokemon than each other”. These Pokemon are NOT COMPATIBLE. It could be one or both of the parents cannot breed, they could be from different egg groups, be a genderless Pokemon (which can only breed with Ditto) or they could be the same gender.
“The two don’t seem to like each other much”. The Pokemon are COMPATIBLE, but are different species and have the same Trainer IDs. Expect these Pokemon to take a long time to breed.
“The two seem to get along”. The Pokemon are COMPATIBLE. The two Pokemon are the same species (and evolutionary level) and have the same Trainer ID or they are different Pokemon with different Trainer IDs. These Pokemon will breed faster.
“The two seem to get along very well” The Pokemon are COMPATIBLE. The pair of Pokemon are the same species (and evolutionary level) with different Trainer IDs. This Pokemon combination will breed the fastest.
So... to sum it up, if your Pokemon aren't exactly breeding at the pace you would prefer, try trading for a Pokemon strictly for breeding purposes (especially Dittos). And if your able to get your hands on a Japanese (or other foreign) Ditto, you may even stumble upon the Masuda method and breed yourself a shiny. pirate

I'm experimenting with Eevees right now (sooo many different types now). So I am going to try to get synchronoise onto the eevee and then match it with jolly and from there IVs... And I should have the hang of it. Will shout if it bends my brain too much.

It can however automatically obtain the ability when it evolves into Espeon or Umbreon. The only abilities regular ol' Eevee can have are Run Away, Adaptability and Anticipation (in which Anticipation is it's Hidden ability that will lead into other hidden abilities when it evolves).
A crude breakdown for you: Eevee with Run Away or Adaptability -> Espeon with Synchronize. Eevee with Run Away or Adaptability -> Umbreon with Synchronize. Eevee with Anticipation -> Espeon with Magic Bounce. Eevee with Anticipation -> Umbreon with Inner Focus.

No no, I was referring to the egg move syncroNOISE (psychic 120 power), which I should be able to breed of a loudred. wink

Though (my honest opinion) synchronoise is a terrible move choice as the move only targets (and damages) Pokemon that share a type with the user (Espeon can only hit Psychic-types, Jolteon can only hit Electric-types, it is completely useless on Umbreon due to the Dark type's immunity to Psychic, etc). With that being said, the only Eevelution who could possibly use it would be Vaporeon as an alternative to Shadow Ball for use against rival bulky waters, and even then, it opens Vaporeon up to being forced out by Slowbro/Slowking and Starmie even more so. Once again, that's just my two cents for whatever it's worth. pirate
