Kestrel sensed Hikaru's uneasiness about this topic of conversation.
"So, um..." she said quietly, casting around in her mind for something else to talk about. "Hikaru, have you read any good books lately?"
Kestrel loved reading, so books were always a subject she liked to talk with others about.
