Tobias scoffed and clasped his brother on the back, all while shaking his head.
"What's a couple of rouges off? Good for Algren's reputation if they spread word of his might all over, eh brother?" Algren gave a half hearted smile, a frown creeping at the edges of his mouth. He looked up at Bane.
"Thank you for the report Bane." Uttered Algren slowly, his mind full of a hundred thoughts. "However, I will like to have a meeting with you in private this evening. My chambers, at the hour of ten." Algren turned and allowed his brother to lead him into then castle. Once Algren was departed, Gefton moved, this thin body almost lost in algren's spiraling robes.
"How interesting you know all this." Bemused Gefton, his voice almost giddy as he circled Bane. "You who left first from the battle should know this?" A chuckled issued from between the old man's lips. "I find that oddly...Well...Disturbing." The weary eyes narrowed and Gefton stopped smiling. "Your a good warrior and a valuable ally Bane but I don't trust you anymore than I would a demon. I'll be watching you." And with that the old man turned and began his decent down the mighty stairs, the wind tearing at his robes as he went.

Bane gave the brothers the same jaunty little bow he always gave, despite the situation. He was more pleased than any of the others, since he knew what was to come before they did and could therefore 'selectively'give his reports. Of course, Gefton, in all his wisdom, choose more appropriate words and actions in Bane's presence.
"Indeed we are all only so valuable to the new Emperor. I will continue to serve Algren as I did his predecessor. I and my 'associates' strive to serve the leader of this land as best we can."
Bane bowed juantily to Gefton as well, practically taunting him and thowing his own suspicions back in the man's face. He looked up at Gefton departed and murmured for only him to hear...
"Long live the Emperor."

The sun began peaking over the horizon, turning the sky a light pink, signs of the rain that had come and the storms that would be arriving. Blaise woke up with a sudden breath having forgotten where she was. Once the memories returned she pushed herself up slowly, still feeling a little sore. Kaden was still asleep beside her, breathing softly.
She could see Booker sitting just outside the door, gazing into the trees aimlessly. Standing, Blaise made her way ofver to him and he looked up as he saw her move.
"Everything's in order, Ma'am." he whispered. She nodded and stepped out to get a little peek at the sky. She hadn't seen such a pretty sunrise in a long time.

Azmaria's eyes opened as thw stillness of the room was broken.
"Morning..." She said, rubbing her eyes lazily. She shakily got to her feet and yawned as she stood up,"Should I got get come water for us to wash up with?"
It took her a while to wake up, but after a few minutes she was as bright and cheery as ever. Satella woke up after her.
"Azmaria, go back to sleep. It is too early to be running about..."

Blaise heard the others beginning to wake up and looked back into the room.
"No, I'll get it." Blaise offered, "Satella's right, you should rest."
Taking the large container Booker had used the night before she walked into the surrounding forest for a spring of water.
Kaden was beginning to wake up as well but was still very tired. He rubbed his face and sat up. "Whas goin on, hmm?"
Loque was still resting but awake. He didn't even seemed fazed by the hours he had to stay up on watch.

"Oh, Booker, how long were you up?" Azmaria asked in a motherly manner,"Why don't you nap for a bit until Blaise comes back with the water?"
Chrono and Rosette were the only two fast asleep, and boy were they fast asleep. Chrono was resting peacefully enough, eve had his hands folded together, but Rosette had lost all composure and was even drooling on Chrono's shoulder.

"Only from midnight." Booker answered like it wasn't a problem, "It was a short shift, I'll be fine."
"We should make some breakfast and get going. I'll do it, "Kaden offered, "Unless someone else would rather."
It didn't take long for Blaise to find the small spring and fill up the container with water. She was sure to be cautious all the while and keep an eye out for any movement that was anything besides what fit into the forest. She returned back to the settlement they had called home for that night within a couple minutes. Upon seeing Rosette and Chrono she smiled.
"Should we wake them or leave them alone?"

"Let zhem sleep, we will 'ave a chance to eat our fill. Rosette vould devour most of whatever we 'ave brought vith us in a single sitting."Satella said passively.
"Besides, it's so cute!" Azmaria added. She was referring to the fact they were still holding hands in their sleep. Not the fact that Rosette was soaking her beloved's shoulder.
Satella was already looking through their belongings for food.
"Vhat do ve 'ave?"

Blaise set the container of water down for anyone to use then went to booker who was still sitting outside the door.
"You are relieved of duity now, Booker. You may come in with the rest of us now."
He stood and nodded, "Yes, Ma'am. Thank you Lieutenant."
"You can call me Blaise now, Booker." she said, though with formality, "I am in your debt, afterall." Then she looked over to Loque, "That goes for you as well."
"If you would not mind it, Blaise, I still wish to call you Lieutenant." Loque replied.
"Do as you wish."
Booker looked to Loque who gave him a smile and a nod to say well done. Booker came in and sat next to his comrade though didn't say anything more. He didn't have to, Loque could see he was happy with himself and Loque of him.

"One of these must have food in it..." Azmaria said as she searched with Satella,"I really don't think we should go wandering off to hunt for something..."
"I think zhe elves should do zhat. Is zhat not vhat zhey came for? To help?" Satella suggested,"At zhe moment, I am zhe most capable of protecting zhe others against most threats. Especially vith those two fast asleep..."

Loque looked to Booker who shrugged. They both directed their gazes at Blaise who gave the same response but a small nod afterwards.
"We'll go." Loque said standing up, "I'm not sure how fortunate we will be, I am not intelligable about these woods, but we will try."
Booker stood as well and pulled his quiver from the corner, slinging it over his shoulder. His eyes strayed to Azmaria for a brief moment then he looked away shyly. Loque saw this but didn't say anything, he would ask later. The two left with no more words spoken.

"Good luck!" Azmaria called to the two as they left,"Satella, that was rather rude, they aren't servants."
"But zhey know of the job zhey must do. I do my part, as do all of ve, and for zhem it goes beyond watching for vhat goes bump in zhe night. Do not worry, I am sure you little elf boy friend vill be just fine."
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh ho ho, you do not see zhe vay he looks at you? My dear, such a niave little girl..." Satella teased. Azmaria gave her a sour look and folded her arms.
'He doesn't look at me oddly! Why should he?"
"Other zhan you unique, luminous beauty and zhe fact you gave him his own flying lesson? Among many things..."Satella continued, thoroughly enjoying herself.

The thin, black wolf watched from the tall grass allowing a smile to curl the edges of his lupin snout. Von snorted as he looked over the assorment of figures that scurred about the house. None smelled like anything spectacular. Granted one was obviously a mage of great power but how many mages had Von killed before? Enough.
The yellow eyes blinked and Von weighed his options. Strike now? Maybe. Use the Tomb? The wolf looked down at the book clenched in his jaws. No! Only as a last resort the wolf told himself. That was a magic he did not want to use. The wolf crept back into the shadows and in a moment, Von in human form emerged but now he was dressed in tattered robes. A walking stick was held tight in his hand and a large hat covered his face. The strange white bandages still were wrapped around the left half of his face and arms though. Von patted the book that was now hidden in his robes and shivered. Von flexed his jaw and after a moment began walking very upright and deliberatly up to the house. He stopped several yards away and after a moment asked, in a quiet voice.
"Excuse me, but could you spare some water for a traveler?"

Those awake perked up at the sound of another's voice. Satella's hearty laughter soon died off. Azmaria leapt from her seat with the bucket. but was stopped as the strangely accented woman put out a hand to stop her.
"Vait here..." She said, standing up. She opened the door cautionly, but met Von was a gracious smile.
"Hello zhere, stranger." She said kindly,"I'm sorry to say that vhile I can grant you some vater, you may not come in. My daughter is quite sick zhe moment, and I vould hate for another to get as sick as she."

Blaise's senses spiked as the stranger came about. She wasn't trusting of anyone at this point. She bent low to Kaden and whispered something inaudiable to him.
"Go find Booker and Loque."
Kaden nodded and came out behind Satella, ready to follow her up on her story. "I'm going to see if I can find anything else for your daughter to eat, she needs to keep her energy up." he said casually, "We wouldn't want her getting worse."
He gave a brief glance at the cloudy sky before dissapearing into the forest. Blaise kept an unseen eye on the stranger all the while.
