A short man glided into the arena next. It seemed strange that two old guys just happened to be in the same spot. But the psion, it wasn't meerly a coincidence, he dreamed it, and so checked it out the next day. Then, just like that, he came here at the right time. His feet touched the ground and smiled, his ever color-changing eyes were covered by his large sunglasses.
His hand patted the Colt Pyython hidden in his coat. The other hand that held a short spear tightly slowly raised, the pointed part of the spear was pointed at the ceiling/sky. "Up there!" He yelled over at his opponent.

The old man was startled at the other man's yelling and pointing.
"Pup pear? WHAT?"
The old man shouted back, not understanding what the other one said, or really who he said it too, but he seemed to be looking at Dane, but from those glasses, the wizard couldn't tell.

This man couldn't hear. Could this be an advantage, Vincent thought to himself. It might be. Vincent just told himself that he'd find out the same way he always did. Without hardly any thought, the psion began to focus his psionic energies in front of him by waving his free hand, soon letting go of his spear allowing it the float next to him, so that he could further concentrate on the energies before him.

The old man watched the man wave his arms around and shrugged. But within the deep blue eyes of the old mage, his fire burned well and it recognized the psionic energies building around the man's arms. And so, with a simple movement of his staff, he also began to swirl and chant and dance around like a mad man shouting phrases of obsentities that wouldn't even be considering in the magic language, but it would create magic, but this magic even the old mage wouldn't know what would happen.

The psionic energy had made it's way out of Vencent's pores, invisible to the mundane human eye, but to others in a cool blue. Well, Mordikai thought it was cool. His opinion was enough for him. Still waving his arms, he was shocked at the old man's outburst of colorful words and setence enhancers, not too shocked, but the feeling was there.
"Let's see what he's got," Vincent thought to himself, as his sunglasses began to slide down his nose, probably due to the aid of telekinesis. The man would now see his rapid color changing eyes. Red, blue, purple, then black, and finally white. Vincent would try to make eye contact with his opponent. He would now attempt to enter the old man's mind. A simple message would be heard in his mind, "Let me enter you mind..." If there were any defences against psionics, they'd appear around now.

A spasm of magical energies resulted in a POW! of fluffy feathered pigs flying through the air towards Vincent.
"Wha-!? I didn't want this!"
The old mage sputtered his eyes darting around as the flapping, squacking pigs flew towards Vincent. Why? Hell if anyone knows.

Vincent was almost too busy trying to enter the old mage's mind to have noticed the pigs flying at him. But the sound of the magical eruption, the pigs themselves, and the fact that Vincent can sense magic in a sense as it's being casted was enough of an alert to turn his attention to pigs. "Feathers," Vincent muttered as he waved his hands, creating a psychic wall in front of the man. Soon, the pigs would crash into the wall as if it were being thrown into a brick wall.
The shield would hardly use up any energy, actually the wall could easily be converted into an attack. Vincent continued to concentrate his psionic energies.

"Well, sorry about that junior, I'm not sure what went wrong there..."
The old mage mumbled to himself over his movements and wordings before very abruptly thrusting his staff upwards and waving around in the air. From the swirls of the staff a magical pressense formed within the air resulting in an almost cartoony swirl of magic.
"...MY NAME IS DANE TAKIL! FEAR ME!"
And he crashed the staff to the ground resulting in a mighty thunder in the distance. Soon clouds began to darken overhead and then the rain began to fall.
"Wahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahaha!"
Flashy magics? Check. Sanity? Not present.

Vincent's arms continued to sway, the concentration of his psionic poweres were still in progress, and the invisible wall soon flowed back into the rest of the energies. This Dane's flashy looking magic wasn't scaring Vincent at all, but he found it weird that the mage had pig chickens in his arsenal.
Vincent tried entering his mind once again, trying to keep eye contact.

A few hours after what was quite possibly the most traumatizing morning ever, Trei manages to make his way back out into the arena proper. From his eyes, it seems that the lack of sleep and the waking up to a room covered in blood have, understandably, gotten to him.
With a groan, he falls back against the arena's southernmost wall, collapsing with a lackluster "umph" into the dust. To an outsider, it would look as if he had been shedding scarlet tears, as faint blood-lines still mar his face. To be honest, though, at this point he really doesn't care any more.
He just wants the images to stop running through the back of his mind...

A large tawny feline, looking like nothing more than a bobcat on its hind legs, wanders into the arena. He is wearing a grey trenchcoat over long pants and what looks like a blacksmith's vest. He tilts his head up and sniffs at the air.
"A good scent in the air tonight. A truly impressive atmosphere to this place, if a bit stagnant."
He keen nose catches a wiff of something else, the hint of blood. Fresh spilled and old at the same time, mixed in with the taste of life as well. Curious. Simple as stepping, the catman disappears and reappears close to the scents origin.
"Ho now, what's this? What do you be lad?"

Trei looks up... and see's that he's talking to a cat. Where's a white rabbit when you need one...
No sense in being rude, though... after all, there were rumors of much stranger fighters here. 'Course, if the cat thing was just in his imagination, he'd prolly look pretty dumb...
"Very tired, that's what I be." With a groan, the young man forces himself to stand, wobbling a little on sleep-deprived legs. With a c**k-eyed grin, he extends his right hand. "The Cheschire, I presume? I'm Trei..."

Contrary to what he was sure Trei expected, the bobcat grins back.
"Actually, yes, on occasion. Cheshire is more of a title in Wonderland these days, it goes to any of our kind with who demostrate deep philosophical thinking at the annual meets. Its nice to meet you Trei."
The large feline paces around the other man, scanning him from head to toe.
"You really are tired aren't you? And... different too. You're not used to this in the slightest. What's up?"

The young man arches an eyebrow at his new companion's question, and (understandably) a little voice in the back of his head wonders why he's getting into this discussion, with a talking cat-man-guy-thing of all people...
Still, here he stood. "I really wish I knew. Nightmares and blood..." In a very un-Trei-like action, the young man shudders, actually feeling the chill fingers of fear for once. However, he pushes it aside and turns his attention to another question; "What made you say "different"? Have we met before?"
