Syngey *Looking over to Aykon she smiled warmly*Do you think I could get another glass of that great water of yours when you get a chance? Sure! *Aykon drops a few ice cubes into the glass with a ^clank^ and then approaches the large barrell in near the back door of the bar and fulls the spigot to pour some more water into the glass.*
*Once the glass is full, he approaches Synge and sits the glass in front of her.*There ya go! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rhodes ((Sorry the posts have been slow from me this week been busy with school work but I free most of the weekend. woot!!)) ((Doesn't it suck that the weekend is when I seem to have the least amount of time to post! Oh well, we will make the story move slowly* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ksi Ksi looks over at Aykon when he makes his comment, and then simply smiles and shrugs. Taking another drink of his orange juice, he returns his attention to Synge as she speaks.
*Sparing no time, he grabs the glass from Ksi, adds more ice cubes and fills it back up with orange juice, sitting it in front of his friend*
*At this, Aykon goes to a stool behind the bar and waits, listening to some chat and also watching for when customers needed service.*

*Nikki remains silent for the most part as she watches the others. After a while she picks up a napkin from the bar and begins folding and unfolding it in various ways.*

*Something off in the distance catches the corner of her eye and immediately her head darts in that direction. It was a falcon, she stood up shaking her head. "No way.. they couldn't have. Please don't let that be.."It was too late it had to be from them. The falcon circled around once before making and descent and landing in front of her. It was a relatively large bird with vibrant yellow predatory eyes, beautiful dull brown and auborn feathers. Rhodes knew the bird very well, it was the messanger bird for the Ventrue Clan.*
"Artyk"
*The bird cocked it's head to the side in recognition, quite happy to see her. He dropped a letter at her feet before clicking his beak at her. She offered her arm and he landed on it happily. The vampire rubbed her hand down his back and lightly kissed his beak.*
"Thanks Artyk, you should get going I'm sure your mate Hestya misses you."
*The pair meet eyes, coming to an understanding about their departure from one another. Artyk let out a low squak as he spread his wings and flew away. Now she could read the letter, not like she wanted to though. The Clan wasn't know for sending pleasant "how are you" letters, the red wax seal cracked open as her hand slid through the envelope. She withdrew the piece of parchment and read over it's black cursive writing, it took her a few minutes to grasp what it was saying, reread it and then dump the only other contents of the envelope to the ground. A silver bullet thudded on the grass as Rhodes fully burst into tears while falling back against the tree.*

*As Aykon stood at the bar, he suddenly felt a sharp pain...someone was hurting...someone he was close to... he was sure it was Rhodes. He waved a hand to his patrons in a manner that would request his leave from actions.*
*He approached Nikki as she folded napkins and nodded to her lightly*
Nikki...please take care of the people for a bit...I need to check on something.
*Not really waiting for a reply, Aykon headed out into the noon sun and disappeared from the entrance of the tavern. Nikki could tell that when he had spoken that it was something very important.*
*Aykon followed this pain until he found Rhodes crying on the ground, the letter next to her. He quickly dropped to where she was and hugged her. His voice was soothing but concerned*
Rhodes...what's wrong...what happened?

*Nikki raises her eyebrow in question, but nods. If Aykon was leaving like that she knew it had to be something that required his attention. She watches him walk out of the tavern, then turns her gaze back to the others in the room. Her gaze passes over Heather asleep on the couch, Ksi and Synge at the bar in their conversation, and the others at their various positions. She finishes folding the napkin and gets up, heading behind the bar. She sets a small paper bird on a shelf behind the bar, and takes a seat on the stool there.*

Following the read header a smaller black almost illegiable text follows. Aykon being as kind as he was would skim to the last line of the letter before the Clan's Seal. "because of your lack of regard for the ways of the Ventrue, we Elders find that you are forever banished and if you were to return for any reason you would be executed in a most hideous manner. This punishment is light considering your heresies to the Clan, but for all the work you have done for us you are not going to be hunted down and burned alive. Being expelled from the Clan is a fate worse then death and the Elders have included a little something to ease the pain, you should know what to do with it."*Rhodes sobbs continued, she would tell him the rest of the letter later when she had regained her composuer. If he were to look at the ground by their feet he would see the silver bullet glistening in the sun.*

It is true that strong will is necessary in my line of work, in more ways than one. You know, in order to manipulate reality and all, heh. Yes, there’s no doubt that it can be overwhelming though. I do the best I can, but there are times when I worry quite a bit. Even now, I know that my greatest foe is beyond my limits. This is something I often struggle with. I just have to have faith that the lord will see us through this. As for my angelic half, it’s a pretty literal statement. My father is a seraphim angel, you see. Heh, he feel in love with a human woman, who was my mother. Then he bestowed upon her a blessing that is now the man you see before you. Having said this, he shrugs, preferring to remain humble. Besides, it was a literal blessing, as angels don’t actually have sexual organs. Not naturally at least. Thinking about his parents, a feeling of nostalgia comes over him, and he smiles.

Ksi seems distracted for a moment, as with a look of concern he watches Aykon leave the room. However, after a few seconds, he looks back to Synge.
Ah, well, up until I came of age, my life was just like any normal person's, living in the modern world. Well, for the most part anyway. However, I wouldn’t go back to that way of life, as it always felt like something was missing. My life has great meaning now, and I take reverence in this.
He takes a drink of his juice once again, and admires Nikki’s origami as Synge mentions it. He nods to Nikki in agreement with Synge.

*Her cheeks flush slightly yet again as she didn't think anyone had been watching her and they had. She looks over at the bird, and back to Synge and Ksi.*
"My mentor taught me. He said that one who can learn the patience to turn something ordinary into something beautiful can do great things, thus his lesson in oragami.... They usually turn out better if made from a paper instead of a napkin."

Aykon *Aykon holds the sobbing Rhodes without a word. It was times like this that he needed to be quiet while she was crying. He held her tightly to his shoulder and gently ran his fingers through her hair in hopes it would soothe her.*

Aykon *Aykon nodded and just watched you as you talked. He produced the letter and bullet but instead of placing them in your hand, he held your hand and then let his fingers glide up your arm to where he was holding you from behind. Seeing you so unsure, he felt the least he could do is try to steady you.*Of course...I will be withy you until you push me away...but I should note that I don't let go easily. Don't be so unsure of yourself...I am here to steady you... *He gently placed his arms over your shoulders, across your breast and to where he was semi-hugging you and semi steadying you. "I much rather have you here.." *Even as she said it, she wasn't absolutely sure what she wanted, the only thing she remotely seemed sure of was that she enjoyed Aykon comforting her. When she was having a bad time she always had to deal with it alone and be the strong one but with Aykon she didn't have to be like that and that in itself was a relief.*"And I would never push you away."
