I feel left out I only play one instrument and that is trombone. And you are all better than me i know it, learned to read music freshman year. Now I am a sophomore and next year can try to run for a section leader or at least squad leader. And looking forward to the first year I can play the competition, and it is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I play trombone, and I have been for the past nine years, and I will till I die. Although apparently, I'm not good enough to be section leader of Low Brass.

Only one, and proud to say it's the TROMBONE baby. ;]

{Although I'm currently learning how to play the piano and hoping to learn how to play tuba later on this year.}

Good for you, (good for you) Good for me ,(good for me) All I want (all I want) Is Slide Grease!

I play Baritone for Concert Band and Marching Band but I'm thinking of switching to Tuba for concert band... -shiver-
And as far as jazz band goes I may play trombone if I can learn all I need to in time.
But if I can't then I can play trumpet for the first year and try trombone the next. D:

i only play the trombone as well i attempted to learn how to play the french horn but i was haveing to learn how to read treble clef and the mouth piece is so much smaller. it was difficult and sadly i just gave up after a while. the trombone is much cooler any way wink

It's hard, but very fun. (Some call your first band camp the most painful fun you'll ever have...and I kinda have to agree...) It's worth it in the end, especially when you're an upperclassman and get to help the rookies. ^_^

Also, ARE THERE ANY EUPHONISTS HERE? I play euphonium, marching baritone, and valve trombone for symphonic, marching, and jazz bands, respectively. Baritones are too abrupt and harsh sounding for inside, in my opinion. Euphonia have a rounder, fuller, and mellower sound, and I play them over baritones at every chance I get...

I think you are my female counter part!

I play the same instruments, for the same bands. And yes the Baritones are a pain, but at least you don't have a marching Euphonium, they weigh about 11 pounds more, unless they are the convertible style I am seeing more and more in college bands I watch (They sit on your shoulder like contras, but of course are smaller, and our brass instructor claims they are wimpy)
