Well...you can get by watching three of them. For the complete story, you watch them all. But you need to at least watch:

A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

In that order.

Yes, but I would ask first. Most people will be cool with it.

They are actually chronological....

ANH is Episode 4
TESB is Episode 5
ROTJ is Episode 6
The Force Awakens is Episode 7

You don't have to watch 1, 2, 3 to be where you need to be for Force Awakens.
