wow, you guys got so much done! Sorry for disapearing there, I didn't have any time to connect to the internet this weekend, so I guess I missed out on a bunch of stuff. Being busy sucks.
Well, I really like the banner with just the one picture of the computer and wine, but I do agree there is a lot of white space...perhaps add a gradiant behind it, or a plant, or something. I don't really like the version with both pictures, it looks kind of crowded to me.

I can give the banner with the computer and wine a background, gradiant you said? Let me work on that when I get hoem from school tomorrow, before I got to BSF.
If I added, say, a plant or a book(shelf) or something, where would you like that to go?

Lillian Ashe I can give the banner with the computer and wine a background, gradiant you said? Let me work on that when I get hoem from school tomorrow, before I got to BSF. If I added, say, a plant or a book(shelf) or something, where would you like that to go? well, I was thinking a spider plant or something (I love slider plants, used to have alot of them) behind the computer and wine glass, to get a touch of green in, and maybe extend the picture outwards a bit. If gradiant, maybe a blue or a green, depending on what looks best with the picture. If you don't have enough time, the banner as it was is also fine.

Alright, I voted in the Booth, and I posted a picture of me in my column's post. Also, as for the question of little discription to use after my columns title, I think the "a girl's guide to geekdom" subtitle works well.

I have done another edit of my column, formating the top with a picture and catching some stray commas. It should be mostly done, although I will probably look over it again when I add the banner to it.

Rushifa: I'm seeing what the banner would look like with a plant behind it. I'll show you once my computer decided to quit acting quite so screwy.

I'm technically working on a research paper, but checking Gaia is keeping me sane.

I'm technically working on a research paper, but checking Gaia is keeping me sane. You may be on and off, but I have to get off, maybe for good. Honestly, my mom is actually threatening to bad me off Gaia. If the issue isn't published by the times I get home tomorrow, I will probably be able to finish up this cursed thing. If the issue is published, well, you'll just have to go with one of the ones already given. Sorry.

Don't worry about it, I'm fine with using the one with simply the wine and computer. If I have time tonight, I might be able to wip something up myself, so don't even worry about it!

Problem: Tomorrow, I will be just about all booked from 5am-9pm. I'll have a short amount of time between 4:30pm and 6, maybe. This is... well, I live in Arkansas. @.@ Don't ask me to translate those times.
Basically, I'll drop in, and if all of the below isn't done, I'll try and do it, then leave more instrucitons, and we'll try to get it done. Has anyone else here handled the draft before? It's not that bad.
-@Scarlet gonk I know, I know! Sorry... Hm. Well, what would you like to do? I'll pm some suggestions. Sooner or later.
-More neighborhood Watch (no ads this go around).
-Break tie in 2nd Runner Up (Tie breaker, quick vote, all available staffie choose here and now between "On Nothing" and Of Statues and Men) My choice being "On Nothing". Once that's done, I'll insert the 2nd Runner Up.
-Staff Spotlight on Deab: I think this should be done later. We already have a 3 post issue here, so we'll feature Deab's comic later as a treat.
-Once Rushifa's new banner is done and approved, replace the default one I have in the draft, please. EDIT: Actually, we can change the banner even after the issue is published. No prob.

EDIT: Actually, we can change the banner even after the issue is published. No prob. I vote for "Of Statues and Men". It's so hard to choose between them this time, they're all so good! I'll look around for more Neighborhood Watch stuff in a few hours. Edit1: scratch that "few hours" s**t, I'm doing it now! I will update this post with my reports in a few minutes. Edit2: Well, here they are: Neighborhood Watch February saw many plot and non-plot developments for our lovely Gaia community. Firstly, the much anticipated Trail of Ian finally came to an end, and our favorite clerk was declared innocent! However, the rejoicing was short-lived, and no sooner had Ian stepped out of the courtroom, then he was unceremoniously shot down by the Sniper! Valentine's Day brought a number of exciting events to Gaia. First off, there was an enticing flurry of valentines and kisses (which yours truly sadly missed out on gonk ), followed by a storyline update, which gave us a touching exchange between the recovering (well, so far) Ian and a saddened Sasha. The Gaia Anniversary Ball 2k6 also occurred, featuring many cameos by various NPC, and a few easily acquired items. Gaia users this month were also presented with the onset of Gaia Channels, a unique add-on to the new layout which allows for a personalized front page. We were also treated to new hair styles in the Salon, and new items in the Stores. (thinks that's it...)

Alright, so here are the tie breaker votes so far:
arrow "On Nothing" arrow Of Statues and Men
stare Need more votes.
Deab, do you have a title for the BtB section? If not, I'll use the default title I stole created, The Best of the Best. Also, I edited one small thing. Where you mention my stolen title, I capitalized it as such, since the pieces were "deemed," or named the "Best of the Best."
If anyone has any quarrels, just tell me. ninja
Note To Self -Letters to the following: Names I am sure of Bane is on Fire! The rebel prince ~ Lebki Laverne Terres ~ Bookie *Hawthorne Names I am unsure of *Luna Einricht Asta Chantrea Orra Lea Fealith S. M. Sargent Marvin Ghey
* Also gets money ~ Might get money

I really enjoyed both pieces, so if no one else votes, feel free to discount mine and go with "Oh Nothing." Oh, and I updated my earlier post with my reports for the Watch. Edit: Ok, here is my version my banner. I'm ok with it, although I do think it could be better...this is just what I could do with the image. If it doesn't look as good as the others, we can just keep with the simplier one we're currently using for it...

A tad strange, in my opinion, and there's still quite a bit of white, empty space. The same, basically, but with the plant on another side. And, finally, using your plant-picture. The first two plants are pretty rough around the edges, and there's just a tad of cleaning up I could do for all of the potential banners. And Serieve? Luna Einricht, I believe, is Slightfoxing S. M. Sargent is Sergeant Sargent Asta Chantrea Orra is asta_orra Lea Fealith is, in fact, Lea Fealith. Author of Weight, right? And Marvin Ghey is teh magical niece
