"I prefer to think of it as a daring exchange of witticisms." Kai said sulkily before turning to look at Bryan. "What the hell was that?" He asked.
"Did you figure out how to work it?" Brooklyn asked, looking at Bryan and brushing some of the hair that had gone wild in the wind out of his eyes. "Was that you?"
Kai looked down at his disk thoughtfully, if what Brooklyn had said then Bryan had figured out how to work his disk. Apparently it can be done he thought as he continued to try and figure out why Dranzer's plumage was so different to that of a normal birds.
He shivered slightly, wishing that they could be in a place in Biovolt where the heating system actually worked. He squinted as he saw the similarity between what he saw and what he wanted.
Fire? Dranzer's a phoenix? He thought in wonderment, feeling the disk become warmer at the thought.

Kai blinked at the unexpected question. "Is there a way I'm meant to feel?" He asked. "I'm a bit pissed off that the other me got to be rescued and I got left behind but apart from that I don't know what I'm meant to be feeling."
He bit his lip as he tried to think of a way to explain it. "It'd be like me asking you how it feels to not be split in two. It's just something that happened."

Rei sighed as he left the kitchens having told the soldier in command to expect Taki. He hoped that Taki would actually turn up- it might get him out of whatever Kia was planning. Taki working in the kitchens might annoy him but it could save his life.
Maybe it would have been better if Kia had died He thought before making a snap decision and turning toward the indoor training courts, He needed something to take his mind off life in general.

Taki rolled his eyes. "I meant can you tell that there's another part of you wandering around but obviously it just feels that same as before."
He looked down at Kai and smirked. "Well, apart from the surgery and what not."
He frowned. "Oh, and there's another tiny thing about being 'split' that you might want to know about. Well, more need to know than want."

Bryan shrugged. "Well, it wasn't me, Brooklyn , that would have been Falborg's doing," he said, motioning to the disc in his hand. He looked back and shrugged.
"I don't know what i did, just kind of called it out."
Kia nodded. "Well, i guess we've got the first step figured out."
Bryan looked over Brooklyn and smirked. He closed his eyes, concentrating on the sacred spirit in his hand, asking it to send a strong gust over Brooklyn's way. He opened his eyes and laughed when it worked.
Kia raised an eyebrow at the progress and looked over at Tala who was scrutinizing his disc.
So, what? Just concentrate and ask him to do something?
He shrugged and closed his eyes.
Well, come on then Wolborg, if you're really my 'dog' then you should know me by now. Do something for me, anything, please?
He snapped his eyes open and looked up when something cold hit his cheek. He blinked. "Why is it snowing on me?"
He looked at the others. "Why is it only snowing on me? Wolborg!"
He could have sworn he heard a dog-like chuckle.
Kia put her face in her hands. "Oh God, why did i let them have these things?" she muttered.

Kai smirked at Tala. "Nice." He commented, reaching his hand out to catch some of the snow. He withdrew his arm and watched in fascination as the snow melted.
He looked down at Dranzer and raised an eyebrow. How come you can;t do something like that? he inquired.
In answer, Dranzer's disk turned red hot, burning Kai's hand and making him yell in surprise, dropping the disk on the ground.
He shook his hand, trying to cool the burning. "That's why." He muttered darkly, glaring at Dranzer's disk. "I can tell we're going to get on swimmingly" he said as he bent down to scoop up the disk.
No sooner had he picked it up, his hand felt warmer than it had before, he looked down at it and saw flames leaping around it. Kai cursed and glared down at Dranzer, grateful, at least, that it wasn't burning this time.
He sighed as he felt a certain smugness emanating from the disk.
Figures I'd get a smart a** spirit. he thought ruefully, ignoring the way Dranzer's heat flared in his hand in indignation. It's true
Brooklyn glared at Bryan reproachfully as he straightened his clothes from the wind. He looked down at Zeus and smiled, feeling the calm that just looking at the disk produced washing over him. Show me? he asked.
He felt his feet become cold and looked down, expecting something icy like Tala, instead he found a dark black cloud surrounding his feet. He gave a yelp of surprise and fear as the numbing cloud began to climb up his legs.
"Bryan!"

"What?" Kai asked suspiciously. "From that look on your face I'm really not going to like it, am I?"

Rei sighed in relief as he reached the training arena and heard the familiar sounds of people exerting themselves to their limit.
It's been faaar too long since I've been here. He thought as he began to jog, intending to do a few laps around the room before he figured out what else he should do.

"That whole, um, splitting process?" Taki started, "Yer, well, it has side effects. If you don't get back with your other half, your going to be dead by the time you're thirty or so," he said softly.
He looked over at Kai, waiting for his reaction.

Bryan stood up abruptly. "Brooklyn! What did you do?" he asked looking down at the dark cloud, worriedly. "Tell him to stop or i'm setting falborg on him!"
Kia was already standing, looking over at the two with worry as well. Tala blinked and went to help Brooklyn but was stopped. He looked down and saw his large dog staring up at him, although he was now garbed in his icy armouring. Tala raised an eyebrow. The sacred spirit raised his eyebrows back and and sat down next to it's master, watching the dark cloud creep higher.
"Don't give me that look, i was only trying to help," Tala muttered. Wolborg glanced at him side ways and gave a dissaproving growl.

"Bryan!" Brooklyn called again, feeling tears of panic begin to form in the corners of his eyes. He looked down at the disk in his hands, all good feelings about the sheer power it contained gone.
Stop it he thought desperately at it, trying to will the ever rising black cloud away from himself. Please just stop it
He tried to throw the disk away from himself but couldn't, he was holding it too tightly. He shut his eyes, trying to ignore the ever higher creeping coldness that was enveloping him.
When it reached his shoulders the cloud halted, as if rethinking something. It then dispersed as quickly as it had come, leaving Brooklyn to collapse in a shivering heap of fear on the ground.

Kai bit his lip, digesting the information. "...Oh..." He said quietly, nodding to try and lessen the effect the news had on him. "...are you sure?" Kai asked, looking at Taki, trying to hide every trace of fear from his expression. He'd shown enough of that since he'd gotten here.

Taki took one look at him before smiling sadly. "Yes, hence why we're going to get you back to your real body."
He shook his head before smirking and wrapping his arm around the other's neck, pulling him closer and messing up his hair. "Although this is going to be fun pissing of the two of you in the mean time."

"Brooklyn!" Bryan exclaimed before dropping down beside the orange haired teen and pulling him into a tight hug. He rocked him back and forth slighlty, stroking his hair whil glaring up at Kia.
"What was that?" He demanded. Kia shook her head and backed away.
"I..I don't know. I don't know what these things are capable of, sacred spirits aren't my area!"
Tala walked closer, wolborg walking past him and licking Brookln's cheek. He narrowed his icy eyes at Kia. "But you gave it to him, it's your fault in a way. Didn't you read anything about in that 'research'?!"
Kia stared back steadily. "Technically he took it, i just had it in my hand, but i honestly didn't want that to happen. I just said i don't know about these spirits, if anything i thought he would be the same as wolborg there," she sighed and looked away, "Obviously not. I am sorry though,
she added in barely a whisper, "I'm only trying to help, i'm only trying to do what i've always been taught to do."
"Well, obviously that isn't a good enough excuse," Bryan snapped, holding brooklyn tighter.
((*throws peanut at Kia* sucked in! oh i do love her though...just not at the moment... oh! and what's you favourite element?))

Taki snickered. "Thankyou."
He thought for a moment and looked over at Kai. "Well, technically, that's not you and so, um...yer..." He said before clearing his throat, not really wanting to continue down that train of thought.

Bryan kept his hold on Brooklyn.
Kia shook her head. "I don't know. Unless that's a sacred spirit that's in leguw with Black Dranzer."
She looked over at Brooklyn truely sorry. "Sorry Brooklyn, i never knew what type of spirit would choose you all. I guess it's lucky the others are well, kinder."
Tala nodded and Wolborg growled his agreement.
"Well, changing the subject slightly, anyone know why mines out and the rest want to stay in their discs?"
Wolborg looked over at him indignantly. Kia shook her head and sighed. "I guess because you already knew him."

Brooklyn sighed in relief as the last of the coldness from Zeus' demonstration left his body. He looked over at the beast's disk and shuddered. He looked at Kia and attempted a smile.
Kai looked at Wolborg and smirked, recognising Tala's wolf-like dog under the ice. "Do you remember me?" He asked, crouching down to Wolborg's level.
Brooklyn watched Kai for a second before returning his gaze to Zeus' disk. He closed his eyes, trying to ignore the irresistible pull that it had on him. What had happened had been scary as hell but it had left a strange taste in his mouth.
The taste of power
And Brooklyn couldn't look away from that.

Kai frowned before realisation dawned on him. "...Oh." He said again with about as much emphasis on the word as the last time he had said it. "That sucks."
~
Rei panted for breath as he walked off the sparring mat, pleasantly exhausted. He began to jog away, determined to run around the huge room at least once more before he collapsed in a little jelly heap of mush.
He grimaced as he felt his shirt sticking to his body, soaked in sweat. That can't look attractive he thought resignedly as he reached the halfway point of the room.

Taki shrugged. "Well, i guess it sucks for what's-his-name, it's not my body you have."
He grinned at Kai. "Look on the brightside, we'll get you back to your own body one day."
They reached a corner and Taki slowed down, peering around it and checking for any guards.

Wolborg looked over at Kai and tilted his head, taking in the other's appearence. He blinked, gave a dog-like grin and head butted Kai lightly. He fell back and rolled around the floor.
Tala shook his head and watched his dog-come-sacred spirit. He raised an eyebrow as he noticed the ground where wolborg was rolling around on was turning icy.
As if it isn't cold enough in here already.

Kai smirked at Wolborg's antics and straightened, looking up at Tala. "I guess that accounts for why he's so big" He said with a smirk.
He looked down at the ice on the ground and a thought occurred to him. He bent down again and touched a part that had been completely frosted over by Wolborg's antics. He used his newfound heat to melt the ice that he touched so when he removed his hand there was a perfect impression of his hand left in the ice.
Cool He thought approvingly, smirking at the irony of his thoughts. He smirked and looked at Wolborg, "I guess we don't really match that well do we?" He asked.

But this is my body Kai thought, frustrated that Taki wasn't understanding. As strange as the body he was in felt, it was his. He didn't want to go back to the other Kai.
Not if it meant that the him that had woken up after the procedure would be gone.
~
Rei mentally shrugged and completed his lap of the room, fighting for breath. He bent over and leant on his knees, trying to regain it and trying to keep his eyes open.
His entire body was telling him to fall asleep where he stood. He ignored that urge and forced himself to stand up straight and begin to make his way out of the room and toward his own room and the shower.

Taki raised an eyebrow as he looked aorund. "Good, no one here, for now. better make this quick,"How much do you want to bet someone will waltz out of one of those doors?
He began to walk down the corridor, still thinking before realising the silence around the two. He looked over at Kai.
"You didn't die on me did you?"

Tala nodded. "i guess that would explain it."
Wolborg sat up and looked down at what Kai was doing. He sniffed at the impression of the hand and the water floating around in it. He looked up at Kai and raised his eyebrows. And if he was human he would have been smirking.
Tala's eyes widened as he realised what wolborg was about to do.
"Hey! Wolborg don-!"
There was another gust of wind, snow included this time. When, it stopped, Kia looked up and blinked. "Um, is he going to be ok in there?"
Wolborg sat looking smug at the ice walls he built around Kai.
Tala was rubbing the bridge of his nose. "He has fire, i'm sure he'll get out. Wolborg is too playful for his own good."

The ice around Kai melted quickly, leaving a large puddle on the ground and a very wet very pissed off Kai.
He glared at Wolborg heatedly before turning to Tala. "Control that menace of yours." He said angrily, shaking his head to get rid of the moisture on it.
Brooklyn ignored Kai and Tala and continued to stare at Zeus' disk, remembering the power that had emanated from it as he held it. The fear that he had felt when Zeus had shown him what he was capable of had been tinged with the pure power he could wield while holding the spirit's disk.

"Like I'm going to die in your arms" Kai retorted. "That's hardly a romantic end for the hero now, is it?" He looked around at the hall they were walking through, interested.
That was until he remembered that all of the hallways looked the same.

Tala raised an eyebrow at Kai and placed his hand on his hips. "Oh right, you think i made him do that? The animal's got a mind of his own."
Wolborg nodded in agreement. Kia sighed at them all. And now we're fighting each other. Hurry up Taki, i don't feel like sitting in here anymore.
Bryan, in the meantime, was watching Brooklyn still worried. "Brooklyn?"

Brooklyn blinked and shook himself free of the strong lust for power that came over him every time he saw Zeus' disk. "Mm?" He asked, looking around at Bryan and giving him a small smile.
Kai sighed and sat down, choosing to ignore Tala. He didn't want to fight. Everything was still to weird for him to even think about fighting with Tala.

"Me, of course." Kai said with a smirk. "Out of you and me, I'm the better looking one so I get to be the hero and you get to be the sidekick." He said matter of factly.
