"Hm" Jay said in response with a nod as he began to shed his cloak and reveal a pasty white, trim upper body. He tossed the cloak aside, finding it better to eliminate anything that could get cought on or distract him during battle. His staff was being held firmly in his right hand, perpendicular to the ground. He would look to his opponent as he removed the mask, saying "On gaurd..."

"Yes" Jay said with a nod. Of course, it was his opponent that requested the duel, so Jay gave him the right to the first attack. He stood back, both hand now gripping the staff in the middle, having it parralel to the ground. This would be a most amusing fight indeed.

When he saw the man charging at him, Jay instantly too his defensive stance, still holding his pole the same way. He waited patiently for his opponent to come, then watched as the pole approached his midsection. Jay did a wide sidestep, then leaned back some to avoid the hit to the skull. His eyes stayed primarily on the man's body now as he quickly slid both hands down a few inches apart from one another and led his attack with a body shot with the left side of his pole.

Jay would be focused on the man's eyes as he felt the knee suddenly come up and catch him in the side. It was sure to leave a bruise, but it was nothing to worry about. Not wasting a moments time, he used the evident height advantage to lean to the side and bring his pole up, sending a jab to the man's neck reigion.

Jay would watch him tumble backwards and smile, saying. Before he arose, he quickly jumped back a few feet just incase of a surprise attack on the ground. "Yes. This is quite fun" He watched the bold lunge, and he had enough space cleared between the two of them to run forward and jump,holding the staff down to protect the groin area as he attempted to land on his opponents staff. If his opponent was strong, he could wind up his leg and send a devistating kick to the jaw area. If his opponent was weak, what would most likely happen would be that the pole would sink down into the sand, getting cough and the forward force would cause the man to possibly trip or be caught off gaurd.

Jay kept his staff low to gaurd against an attack to the groin area, but when he saw that the area wasn't an intended target, and realised that his leg would be at risk if he didn't do something to defend, he would quickly switch the staff to the hand that was closest to his leg and press the staff aganst his leg, so that an attack there would merely hit the staff, causing it to press against his leg hard (due to the force of the attack itself. "Aye. She looks just like her mother..." He landed and quickly got back into a protected defensive stance, since he was mere inches away from his opponent at this point.

"Yes, she is" A small smirk came over his face as he just barely managed to block the shot to the temple. He then released his staff at about the same time his opponent did, mimicing his motions by sending a body-shot punch to the kidney's. He was struck with his opponents punch, winded for a brief second before explaining "We wanted to make sure this one lived. We wanted to make sure it had a future"

"Tradgety hurts us all deeply, but that's the beautiful thing about life" He said with a grin as the fist he threw returned to the pole "Experiencing tradgety reminds us that we're alive. It's important to not only have those kinds of experiences, but having the strength to overcome them" And with that, Jay took both hands on the end of his staff and turned his body some, building up both force and momentum. With a giant swing, he aimed a well timed strike towards the man's kneecap.
