"Hm..." Ky thought to himself as he scratched his chin. "My guess is that he's staying low to protect his underside. That would make sense. And hanging on would avoid Sting's bottom stinger and reduce the strength behind his foreleg attacks..." Meanwhile, Sting struggled to pry his annoying opponent from his torso with his two stingers, though with the Ledian's four arms holding tightly, it was useless. "If I could just get him to back off..."
"Ha! You look stumped, kid!" the boy laughed, apparently waiting for Ky's next move.
"Crenu always managed to find ways to have me back off. Maybe if I act like him," Ky thought, bringing out his best Crenu-impersonating smirk. "Far from it," Ky said confidently. "I'm just looking at how to take advantage of your mistake. Sting, Aerial Ace! If he won't let go, slam him into a tree!"
Falling for Ky's bluff, the Rocket Recruit flinched, immediately calling for a retreat. "Ledian, get back here!" he ordered, wanting to not take any extra damage from such a strong attack. Sensing the urgency in its trainer's voice, the Ledian let go quickly, flying with as much speed as he could away from the Beedrill. Sting, meanwhile, just hovered around confused as his opponent left him. Aerial Ace? What was that?
"Sting! Pursuit!" Ky called out right afterward, smiling like an overjoyed kid after just pulling a prank. That worked out far better than he had planned. He felt a bit dirty lying like that, but... these guys deserved it.
Hearing a move he actually knew how to do, Sting pursued his opponent while it continued to speed away. Sting used a bit of his energy to boost his speed while a purplish dark aura gathered on the tip of his right foreleg's stinger. Then, in one quick aerial maneuver, Sting took advantage of the Ledian's back being turned, diving low and under the bug just as the Ledian turned back around to meet the attack. Then, with one last blast upwards, Sting caught his opponent off guard with an energy-focused right uppercut digging deep into the bug's jaw. The Ledian screeched from the impact as he tumbled up into the air.
Realizing Ky's trick, the Rocket trainer was no longer calm. "You dare play dirty with me?! This isn't done yet! Ledian, Comet Punch!" the boy called into the air. No longer calm itself, the Ledian quickly dove down, giving the Beedrill little time to defend against what was a flurry of powerful punches. Starting with its lowest two fists, it gave two punches to Sting's gut, connecting to a fast one-two with its upper fists to Sting's face, and finishing with one last gut-shot from the top-right.
Holding one foreleg to his chest, Sting fought to regain his breath, eying his opponent carefully. This bug definitely had some fight in it.

Robin couldn't believe her ears, this girl was going to help her out? This was one of the first times anyone had ever offered to help her find Luffy. Most people just yelled at her to put him in a pokeball or to send him away. Robin couldn't help it she sniffled a little and almost felt like crying. It was stupid but it seemed like ever since she had started this journey things in her life were just getting better and better. Unable to really help herself, or think about what she was doing Robin gave a happy cry and threw her arms around M.A. giving her a good impression of an Ursaring hug startling Raz from his perch on her head. "Thank you so much! No one has ever offered to help me find Luffy before!" She practically bawled on the poor other girls shoulder. After a second she realized what exactly she was doing and froze for a second before jumping away her face a bright cherry red. "Erk! Sorry! So sorry for grabbing you like that!" She cried before dashing off leaving a confused Raz and Brook behind.
The two abandoned pokemon gave each other a helpless look, why were they surrounded by such crazy people? First Luffy had run off to do whatever, now there trainer had some sort of crying fit before running away. It didn't seem like there trainer was gone for long, the grand total of two minutes, before she came slinking back.
"Sorry about that. I don't know what came over me." She muttered looked extremely embarrassed.

Before she really knew what was going on, she found herself crushed under Robin's monstrous hug. Woah! .. Strong! M.A. thought breathlessly, feeling like her life was being squeezed away. She suddenly could emphasize with a Pokemon being wrapped by a Seviper.
"Yeah... it's... no problem," M.A. wheezed, patting Robin's back feebly. She was crying? What? No one had ever helped her find Luffy before? Why ever not? (On second thought, 'before' insinuated that Luffy had wandered off on his little adventures quite a few times in the past, which M.A. mused about in a detached manner).
Once Robin let go, M.A. felt herself re-inflate back to human status, although she still felt like a dazed rag-doll. The abruptness, the absurdity of it all had her frozen to the spot, and she could only blink as Robin disappeared like a lighting bolt. "Ah -- it's okay," she called out in the night, unmoving and taking in oh-so-lovely breaths of cool night air.
Soon, an abashed Robin came back into view. At the moment, she reminded M.A. of a guilty little puppy that had come back to its owner after soiling the carpet.
M.A. was still frozen to the spot now, blankly looking at Robin. Finally, her mind caught up with all that had happened (for dear M.A. has a rather slow reaction).
She broke down into complete laughter. "Oh -- gee -- you're funny!" M.A. gasped, once again lacking some oxygen. She had never met anyone so... what was the word? Spastic! When she calmed down a bit, it was her turn to apologize. "Sorry for that," she said, wiping her eyes a little. "You just remind me of some anime character!"
A broad, sunny smile plastered itself on M.A.'s lips. "Well, wanna start looking now? From what I hear of Luffy, it seems the longer we leave him alone the more trouble he'll find."
Daemyn nudged her thigh. My, he was getting so tall! He hardly reached her calves not that long before. "Oh, right. Did you have anything with his scent on it, maybe?"

Blinking a few times in confusion at M.A.'s laughter Robin stared for a second before she smiled hesitantly. "You watch anime to?" Most people made fun of her or called her a geek for watching cartoons and reading comics. It was cool to see meet someone else who shared her interests, although M.A. seemed a bit more adjusted into society.
Feeling a lot better about herself Robin shared her own sunny grin and nodded. "Yeah Luffy is a handful. He gets bored easily and wonders off and he gets lost really easily." She rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment. "Ok lets see if we can't find my wayward Aipom." Robin grinned. "If you hear people yelling and lots of loud sounds then thats probably him."
Looking up at Raz who was buzzing around she smiled up at him. "Raz do you think you could use your Foresight and fly around to see if you can find Luffy?"
The small Yanma nodded his head and after a second his eyes glowed and he took off into the night sky to see if he could spot him from above.
"If you do see him please come find us!" Robin called out to Raz who did a small flip to show he heard her.
Scooping Brook up into her arms again, Robin nodded at M.A., Daemyn, Tora and Ulani. "How about we all take the ground route?" She asked. She was a little weary of Daemyn but that might be due to her small fear of big dogs. Which was also why she was trying to ignore the huge Mightyena that was with the blonde boy who was kinda cute.

"Saturday morning cartoons," M.A. winked. Those had to be an nostalgic part of her childhood.
M.A. checked out her Pokedex as Raz took for the skies, hoping this wasn't rude; she'd seen other trainers doing this before. "I've never seen a Yanma in real life before," she breathed as the Pokedex read its name aloud, not caring whether Robin heard her thoughts or not. Oh, that one was definitely a bug, she thought with a light shiver that could have came from the night breeze. If she didn't have her natural aversion to Bug-types, though, she would have find him quite cute.
"Alright you two, you're on," M.A. grinned, patting her two land-born Pokemons' heads. Daemyn glanced at Tora with a growl -- the game was on! Simultaneously they began to drink in the night air, an eye on each other; Tora was practically bustling with energy from all the food she ate, twitching with the competitive desire to win. Daemyn merely wanted her to lose.
The Houndour could only smell a saltiness that stung his nose a bit with its sharp clarity and the distinct smell of M.A. and that other red-head girl, but apparently Tora smelt (or was pretending to smell) something and began to run off. Indignant, Daemyn rushed up from behind, catching up -- the two disappeared northwards.
"Great," M.A. sighed, scratching her noggin a little as she began to walk in the direction her Pokemon had chased each other towards -- she didn't know if the direction was even right, but they had to start somewhere anyways. "Now we've got three trouble-makers loose in this city... I'm sure they'll report back if they find Luffy though," M.A. said. In her mind, she added a little prayer that they wouldn't come back with Luffy stretched between them like a tug-of-war battle.
Meanwhile, off in the short distance, Daemyn and Tora stopped their mad dash -- mostly because it was difficult to even try to smell anything when they were battling out who was faster. The two padded side by side edgily, glancing at each other every once in a while as they looked for that monkey.

Seeing M.A. interested in Raz Robin grinned. She was very proud of him, she had gotten third place with him in the Bug Catching Contest. "I caught him in the Bug Catching Contest we got in third place. He's the first pokemon I ever caught." Ok so maybe she was bragging a bit but still she was proud of him. Sure Yanma's weren't the most powerful pokemon but Robin had a feeling Razputin would surprise them all. Thinking about her Yanma she thought that maybe she should get him a little avatar goggle and hat combo, or maybe a little backpack to hold his berry.
Walking next to M.A. as they started to follow her pokemon. In her arms Brook squirmed a bit, as much as he loved being next to his trainers nice chest he wanted to walk around. This way he could protect the pretty lady trainers, ok so maybe he just wanted to be near the new girls pretty legs.
Sighing Robin struggled to hold him for a moment longer but gave up and set him down. "Ok fine." She pouted slightly. "So how long have you been a trainer M.A.? You seem much more experienced then me."
Luffy was running around the town. Sure he was sort of headed towards where the loud sound was. Ok he was completely lost, that didn't mean that he knew that he was lost or really cared. Instead he had found a fruit cart that hadn't been locked up and there was some left overs. So he was happily munching on an apple, and by munching it meant that he was just eating them whole.
Flying through the air Razputin was flying around happily. The cool night air felt very good on his thin wings and there was so much fun stuff to fly around and do cool flips around. Ok so maybe he should look for Luffy a bit harder but this was just so much fun. If he did happen to see him he would head back.

Ky was impressed with the Ledian's swift combo, especially after taking such a menacing blow from Sting. "Sting, Harden again!" he called out. He hoped raising Sting's defenses would prevent the Ledian from latching on again; Tackle did decent damage before, but now it wouldn't. If all went well, this would limit his opponent to just Comet Punch, which Sting could take advantage of predicting. In the air, Sting's exoskeleton shined once again as his energy focused to Harden it.
"Lex! You can't just keep on the defensive! If that brat keeps using Harden, you won't be able to even dent his Beedrill!" the girl shouted in supportive anger. "And forget the bet! Winning's more important now!"
"I know that!" Lex shouted back, running his hand through his black hair in frustration. "But I'm not taking back that bet! Ledian, Tackle again!" Eying the Beedrill, Lex's Ledian dove at full speed, ramming its shoulder hard into Sting's torso, sending the bee flying backwards.
Even though Sting's outer skin was harder than before, the Tackles felt very similar in power. They weren't strong, but he couldn't take too many of them now after the series of Comet Punches from before. Looking back, Sting wished Ky would stop being defensive as well. His first strike hit so cleanly, he just knew another one of those would be enough to bring him to win this. Luckily, Ky read his mind.
"Use Pursuit again Sting!" Ky ordered, feeling it was time to start the offensive. He had no idea what "bet" this guy was talking about, but if he was going to keep using weak moves, Ky was going to end this. Happy to obey, Sting buzzed stright back to his opponent, making a right-armed motion to jab the same spot he aimed for before, right into the ladybug's neck. Fearing this, the Ledian reacted to block with his top two arms, only to be jabbed in the side by Sting's sudden left hook, the same purplish aura gathered at the stinger's tip. The Ledian recoiled in pain as the stinger punctured just below his right wing, leading to a noticeable wobble in the bug's flight. Having taken two bad puncture wounds, the ledybug Pokemon was not looking good.
"Don't worry Ledian, I was saving this move just in case! Use Reflect!" he called out, having a slightly worried tone to his voice. Without hesitation, the Ledian flew back a bit with all four of his arms shoved outwards. A shiny but transparent wall appeared right in front of the bug, hovering as it hovered in the air.
Ky slapped his hand to his forehead, wishing he had put on more of an offense before. Even with Sting's strength, getting through that barrier was going to be a pain...
"Classic battle of the bugs," Tracy yawned from the side.

Keegan closed his eyes and sighed as the hot water from the shower beat down on his back and shoulders. After all that walking it sure felt good to just relax. From just down the hallway Keegan could hear his Pokemon mulling about - after all this was the very same Pokemon Center that he'd had all his belongings stolen from not so long ago, and his Pokemon made excellent bodyguards. The memory of that day was still fresh in his mind and he smiled. Sure, at the time it hadn't been very funny, but now now he could look back and laugh. At the time it had seemed like the worst day of his life but in retrospect it had been the day which followed that one that now held the tile of 'worst day ever'.
He turned off the shower with some reluctance, but he was clean and refreshed and there was nothing much to be gained by wasting water. He grabbed a towel and dried himself off before wrapping it around his waist and heading back out into the changing room. He looked around for his bag and Pokemon, and sighed angrily when he realized it was nowhere in sight. Tapping his fingers against his hip he cast a glare towards Loki, who was coiled up in the corner and peeking at him from between his coils. Keegan could swear he heard the Arbok snickering at him, and he shook his head. "Not funny, you guys," he told them impatiently. Helios and Themis had been lying up on one of the benches against the wall, watching the scene unfold with some amusement. Althena was leaning up against a wall with her arms crossed, no readable expression on her face whatsoever. Tierra and Artemis were still in their Pokeballs, namely because he wanted the Swellow to get a bit more rest, and Tierra was probably still annoyed at him for waking her up earlier. That and he very much doubted the showers to be a friendly place for a Golem.
"Okay guys, seriously. Hand it over," he said, now glaring specifically at Loki. The Arbok raised his head, eyes wide with the best look of innocence he could muster. When he realized that Keegan wasn't buying it, he hissed, sticking his forked tongue out at the redhead. Keegan stomped over to the cobra (which was kind of difficult to do seeing as the floor was wet). Sure enough, the Arbok was concealing Keegan's things within his coils, and with a growl the trainer retrieved them. "Some bodyguards you guys turned out to be," he grumbled, snatching up his backpack and stalking off to get dressed, trying to ignore the laughter echoing behind him. ===== Sparkle was finally able to pull herself to her feet, stray static clinging to her body and continuing to hamper her movements. Miharu frowned at this, wishing there was something she could do. As she glanced at Sakura and her Espeon, she knew Sparkle probably couldn't win this. "Try to use your Thundershock!" she said, trying to keep the quiver out of her voice. She couldn't help it though, as regret for accepting the sisters' challenge was slowly creeping into her stomach.
The Flaaffy let out a weak cry and sent a blast of bluish electricity at the Espeon, which Miharu fully expected to be evaded. The paralysis, however, was still working in their favor and the psychic type found itself unable to move. When Miharu asked for another attack, however, the Flaaffy couldn't move, her tail glowing weakly even as Sakura commanded her Espeon to use Confusion. The psychic energy surrounded the young Flaaffy and she was lifted into the air, flailing helplessly. With a flick of its tail, the Espeon tossed its opponent to the ground where she lay, unable to get up. Miharu let out a sigh and recalled her. She had been half-expecting to see Sakura back off and one of the other sisters take her place, but it didn't happen. "Send out your next Pokemon," she called.
Miharu nodded and reached for the Park Ball containing Petunia without even thinking about it. The Pinsir materialized in front of her, snapping her pincers in anticipation. "Petunia, Seismic Toss," Miharu said, although her voice wasn't very firm or confident. The beetle let out a slight growl before charging at the paralyzed Espeon and snatching it up in her horns. Petunia began to turn in circles, swinging the helpless Espeon around and around before heaving it back to the ground. The psychic type landed with a heavy thud but found it still had the stamina to get back up again. Miharu felt a bit of confidence return to her now that she had a healthy Pokemon on the battlefield, but she was still very wary of the other four sisters and the Pokemon that lie in wait.

"Wow! Nice job," M.A. said, although she honestly had no idea what the Bug Catching Contest was. It sounded impressive nevertheless.
She smiled thoughtfully at the little squirming Hoppip, taking a second too long to answer Robin's question. "Really?" she laughed; this time she was the one to be surprised. "I left home.. maybe three weeks ago, I'm not sure. It feels like a long time, but it hasn't," she said musingly; that day she left home with a little Houndour darting about just barely in her peripheral vision seemed so long ago. Look how big Daemyn had grown! And now she even had two more companions that grew bigger and bigger in her heart everyday, whether they knew it or not.
"And I'm not really experienced at all," she added sheepishly. "The most I knew about Pokemon before I left was what I saw on TV and what happened in the Contest Arena back home... So I'm pretty bad with all the technical stuff. Though I know the common sense things, like water's good against fire, ya know?"
"How about you? Where are you from?"
Meanwhile, Tora abruptly stopped in her tracks. Vague smell of the monkey she had food-battled with! With more food! Coming their direction, to the west maybe five minutes away if they ran top speed. Daemyn looked at his companion somewhat confusedly; he couldn't smell anything distinct from this mess of aromas from the city. He did hear some things, like a trash can lid clattering or a baby's crying in some house, but he couldn't know if that was that Aipom or not.
Once again, Tora was the first one to dash off in this new direction, through an open-ended alleyway, leaving Daemyn to chase after her. They left no trace of changing directions for M.A. and Robin in their haste -- after all, this was a competition here!

She squealed as her master commanded another Crunch. This was going to end it, that was for sure! She opened her mouth and once more flew straight at her target. Again, echoes of a pair of fangs appeared in the air and clamped themselves right onto Banette. Kilik punched up into the sky and laughed. "That's it!"
Oh that hurt, and that hurt bad. The puppet shivered from the shock of the attack and let out a muffled scream into the air. Even Mazarin wasn't laughing. He lowered his head and recalled his favorite, clipping the ball to his belt. Honestly, this had to be the first time a frown was ever on his face when he wasn't being yelled at. Suddenly, he burst into that goofy toothy grin that he was well known for and snatched up a Great Ball from his belt. "Alright, let's see how you handle this!"
Kilik braced himself for something big. He'd never actually battled Mazarin with his own party. His hands tensed and his body froze up. That was, of course, until he saw what came out of the ball. His face dropped and his eyebrow raised. In front of him was what appeared to be a red rock dotted with white holes. He patted around for his PokeDex but it seemed to be up in his room. He'd never seen anything like that before. Even Flygon tilted her head, completely puzzled by her new opponent.
"Check it," Mazarin smirked, running his thumb over his nose. "This is my big gun!" Yellow tentacles began to squirm out of four of the holes, along with one with eyes poking out of another. It blinked and grumbled quietly. Seems it had just been sleeping. "Shuckle, let's do this! Kilik's got nothin' on us!"
Without his PokeDex, Kilik was entirely unaware of what exactly a 'Shuckle' was. What type was it? What could it do? What was it's specialty? He gulped. It didn't look imposing, but looks were always deceiving. He would definitely have to be careful.

Giggling a bit giddily at M.A.'s praise Robin couldn't help the fact that her spirits rose. She was proud of her accomplishment, sure she didn't get first like the green haired girl with her Pinsir but she was still very proud. Despite how glad she was of getting a good score she would have just been happy and just as proud of her Yanma winning or not. She was very proud of all of her pokemon and wouldn't stand anyone putting them down, even if she was facing down an enraged Salamance she would stand by her pokemon.
Coming down from her little cloud of joy Robin blinked a few times at M.A.'s statement quite confused for a second before grinning. "It doesn't matter what you know or not but how much you believe in the spirit of your pokemon. If you believe that they can win and you know their spirit is strong then there is nothing you can't do. At least that's what Luffy and I believe. I know him and I will take on the world with the rest of our Nakama because we made a promise to each other!" Inside her she felt her passion burn high at her little speech. Ok sure it had been pretty geeky and she probably got this from all the anime and cartoons she watched but still it never failed to inspire her.
As Luffy munched away on various fruits his ears twitched on top of his head. Turning around to look back he stared into the dark lamp lit streets, he was hearing something and he wasn't quite sure what it was. Ears twitching on top of his head he finally pinpointed the direction the strange sound was coming from. Sitting on the cart he used his tail to grab fruit from it and shovel it into his mouth as he watched that direction ready to bolt in case it was the demon.

While Sheena had been hoping for a nice hot bath, the discovery of the lack of bathtubs meant that she had to settle for a shower. It was still nice to get cleaned up after walking all day long. The girl quickly showered and changed into fresh, clean clothes and combed out her hair before returning it to its normal, bouncy-pigtailed style. Surprisingly, though, she was the first one to head back out into the main lobby of the Pokemon Center, and she looked around for a moment or two before deciding to sit down and wait. She grabbed a magazine from the table and flipped through it, wondering what could be taking Keegan so long.
Keegan was still muttering something about respect even as he buckled his belt and slid his arms into the sleeves of his favourite overcoat. He'd long since returned his Pokemon to their Pokeballs, namely after Themis snatched up one of his socks and then turned it into a game of keep away. The 'game,' however, had been ended abruptly when Althena got a hold of the rogue garment and returned it to her trainer. The redhead then studied himself in the mirror, smiling a bit at the faded bruises he still wore from the fight (or rather well-deserved pummeling he'd given the kid who'd stolen all his stuff) the other day. He sighed and quickly ran a comb through his hair before deciding he was presentable to the public and heading out into the lobby to join Sheena. He was a little surprised to see that she was there first, as usually girls took a long time in the bathroom or shower or whatever, but he shrugged it off, recalling that he'd been 'delayed' by the antics of his Pokemon.
"So..." he said, attempting to be casual as he walked up to the pink-haired girl, "how about that dinner?" ===== Sakura raised an eyebrow at the sight of her Espeon being tossed around like a limp rag doll by the Pinsir, but she still encouraged the Pokemon to get back up. Paralysis still kept it from being able to move freely though and it eyed Petunia through half-closed eyes. "Your Pinsir's tough," Sakura called over to Miharu. "Where'd you get it?"
"Uh, I caught her yesterday at the Bug-Catching contest at the National Park," she replied, having been caught off-guard by the question. But she smiled - capturing Petunia had been one of the best calls she'd made lately. "She won me first place," she added, before pointing at the weakened Espeon. "Okay Petunia, we've got it now! Vicegrip, go!" she called. It made her feel good to have others comment on the strength of her Pokemon. As much as she doubted her own abilities as a trainer sometimes, she never really doubted those of her Pokemon.

A.J.'s eyes opened wide when he saw the rocks go shooting towards his Pinsir. To be honest he hadn't been expecting an attack like that, but he was very good at thinking on the fly. "Smash those rocks with Brick Break!" he shouted quickly. The Pinsir understood exactly what its trainer wanted it to do and it reacted quickly, thrusting out its clawed hands and shattering most of the larger rocks that came heading its way. A few still got through, as well as some of the debris, but the big beetle didn't give any hints that it had suffered at all. The sands continued to whirl around them, and the Pinsir shivered a bit. Ada stood strong, feeling nothing as the sand tore at her own rocky hide. A.J. nodded respectfully towards the Larvitar - he was now aware that he'd underestimated her, and her trainer as well. His Pinsir was hurting - the previous Screech had weakened it and the rocks that had gotten through with the last attack had scored some pretty good damage.
Kasiya was finding herself to be quite impressed by the Pinsir - she knew they were a fairly rare bug, found only in the Safari Zone in Kanto (well, she knew they also were native to Johto, but her knowledge of that region was small). A.J. seemed to have a good idea of what he was doing and it made Kasiya happy - she liked battling trainers who knew their stuff. She glanced down at Ada, who was still raring to go. "Ancientpower," Kasiya said, making her voice loud enough to be heard over the howling sandstorm. Ada let out a growl and thrust her hands into the air, causing more rocks to shoot up from the ground. Each of these was bathed in energy, looking like they'd been flung with the power of a Psychic attack. Ada then hurled the rocks at the Pinsir, who didn't see an attack like this coming. Each rock slammed into the Stagbeetle with staggering accuracy, the damage caused highlighted by the fact that Ada began to glow with power after the completion of her attack. Yes, her stats were boosted! Kasiya thought, smiling to herself. This would definitely work in her favor.
=-=-=-=-= The rap on the head had been enough to tell Mightyena to settled down, and the Dark-type sat back on his haunches, watching as the Phanpy and Houndour were next to head off in the search. Jaeshan, meanwhile, couldn't help but overhear the girls' conversation, and he stepped forward, still feeling a bit awkward. "You guys are looking for an Aipom?" he asked, scratching the back of his head a bit sheepishly. "I don't mean to intrude but I could lend a hand if you want." Mightyena looked up at his trainer in surprise - it was unlike his master to talk to people, let alone offer to help. He shook off the shock rather quickly though. If Jaeshan wanted to help these humans find the missing Pokemon then he would help as well. The canine's nose was sharp and he was an excellent tracker.
The blonde chuckled at his Pokemon and patted him on the head. "But then again if you don't need help I can always just go back to my hotel..." he trailed off, looking from one girl to the other. Mightyena let out a sigh - this was the Jaeshan he was used to.
