Dude, the short version is this: I've had this idea in my head for the past *counts fingers* like, 7 or 8 months. I've been trying to write the story that it's inspired for just as long. It refuses to let me be until I finish it which is hard because I have failed to finish a story of its length at any time in my life.
I may very well go insane because of it.
Hell, Gaia isn't the only thing I've been putting on the back burner either: Pokemon Pearl/Diamond and various PS2 titles have been suffering as well. crying
