....well, I'm willing to concede that waffles are a very similar form of delicious to pancakes.
However, ever since that haunted waffle iron in '72, I've been a bit leery of 'em. gonk I think Agent Whitman still has a grid iron on his a**...

I think the ease of preparation of pancakes gives them an edge. That, and the increased propensity for surprise crunchy griddle bits.

Waffles are easier than pancakes, and there is no Hello Kitty Pancake Maker, whereas there IS a Hello Kitty Waffle Iron (someday it shall be mine!) and that trumps pancakes easily.
