Jury's picked, and its decent. We got cornholed on a couple of the jurors, but not too badly. Judge Arkon is a fair main, but he's being considered for a seat on the Supreme Court. He isn't taking ANY risky decisions.

*murmurs* So it's political. That always a good way to ******** up an easy case. *Luke takes a swig of his beer.*
*squints and thinks* You know, as long as there's never been any police records of child abuse, domestic abuse by the mother, or any documentation of an affair.... it shouldn't be hard to get the jury to swing your way. Especially since it's a woman and two kids. I mean, that'd get any normal family man or preschool teacher on your side.

One would think. But don't underestimate the power of a fully bankrolled law firm. They've already filed seven hundred and twenty three motions against this case, and opening statements are in in two days.

*breathes* s**t. Well, good luck, man. *Luke is still in disbelief about him having what could be called a dream case. He looked young, too.* I think it's incredible that you're prosecuting this case. How did you get this? Do you work for the DA?

Me? No. I work at a private firm. I know the DA, though. Jack was my mentor while I was in school. I'm doing this case Pro Bono. We both knew that Jack wouldn't be able to handle it. Not with the crew hired for defense.

Yeah. Even a DA needs some help every now and then, you know? Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Jack's work. The man prosecutes like he's possessed. If he ever goes to a private firm, he'll be unstopable.
