Ryou tensed as Khalid left, and looked utterly terrified for a moment as he faced both Kira and Luci. This fleeting look of terror was gone quickly, replaced with a blank mask of apathy. He turned to the fridge and looked around for something to eat, pulling out a package of bacon, deciding that this would have to do. Atem, who had just gone back to sleep, grumbled and complained when the phone began to ring. He stirred feebly and blinked in the dim light of the early morning, but didn't attempt to get up to answer the phone.

Ember grumbled and answered the phone "What?"
"Guesswho's home?" kawi smiled
"KAWI!!" ember yelled bouncing out of bed she ran out the door,down the hall,into yugi's apprment and tackles kawi.
Luci desided to test how long ryou could keep that mask on. Her loomed over ryou in the creppy sort of way.
Kira was curently lost to the world. She was leaning on the wall watching her son.

Atem sat up in some alarm when Ember just bolted out of the house. He heard her shout out Kawi's name, though, so assumed that it was good news. He got up more slowly than Ember, deciding to dress before following her to Yugi's apartment. Yugi squeaked when Ember burst into the apartment and immediately tackled Kawi. "Be careful with her!" He protested playfully. "I don't want her shipped back to the hospital so soon!" Ryou stiffened again as Luci hovered over him, but tried to act calm as he got a pan and went to the stove. His hands were shaking somewhat as he turned on the heat and struggled to open the package of bacon. He gave up, frustrated, and began to rummage for scissors. He kept his head bowed and his eyes on his work to avoid looking anywhere near the demon.

Luci leaned down his breath blowing soft on ryou's neck.
Looking up kira seemed to snap out of it. Walking over she put a gentle hand on ryou's shoulder "Why don't you go play with kai...I'll cook..." she offered
Ember dident seem to hear yugi. She started crying and hugging kawi "I was so worried!"

Ryou flinched away from Kira's touch, retrieving the scissors. "You've been away. You need to be with him more than me." He stated simply, hacking away the plastic wrapping and pulling out a few strips of bacon before plopping them down on the pan. With Kira near it was easier to ignore the demon, but Ryou still shuddered as he felt Luci's breath tickle the back of his neck. Yugi decided that as long as Ember wasn't squeezing Kawi too hard, it would be fine. He edged around the pair to get to the phone.

Kira smiled as kai noticed. he giggled at the sound "foo!" kira smiled "yes it's food."
"You know in some countrys they eat ther weak children." luci stated. Kira shuttered slightly and held her son close to her.
Kawi patted ember "there there lets find you chocolate"
"No thanks I already threw up whatever I had eaten last" ember said.

The phone rang, making Ryou jump, and he looked towards the wall extension in the kitchen. He had started towards it when it abruptly stopped ringing. With a shrug, Ryou decided that Khalid had picked up elsewhere. "Well we don't follow that custom." He told Luci, turning his attention back to the food. "Ryou?" Yugi asked hopefully when someone picked up on the other end. He frowned slightly. "Oh, sorry Khalid. Hey, I just wanted to tell you two the good news. Kawi is back from the hospital!" Khalid laughed mildly from the living room, where he had been when the phone had rung. "Yeah? Well, I've got better news. Kira is back from the dead." Yugi froze, his eyes widening. "She... is? Well... wow... Seriously?" He asked, not sure if he should believe Khalid or not. Khalid confirmed this, but Yugi still shook his head. "I don't believe you. Put her on, if she's really there." "I don't understand why you don't trust me, Yugi. I wouldn't lie about something like this. But just for your uncertainty, I won't put her on. You'll have to come over and see her for yourself if you want to confirm my story. You lazy bum." Khalid added cheerfully before promptly hanging up the phone.

Luci laughed "It's too bad. You really should. Gets rid of unnessesary meat bags running around."
"..My son is not a meat bag..." kira said softly.
Luci laughed "Want me to prove you wrong?"
Kira held her son close "no..."

Khalid entered the kitchen, looking to Ryou. "Yugi just called. Kawi got out of the hospital. I told them about Kira, and they may come down to see if I was telling the truth." He blinked at Luci. "Oh, dear. I must have forgotten to mention that you are here. What a shock it will be for them if they do decide to come." Ryou got a plate down and put the first cooked strips of bacon onto it. "I thought I said we weren't going to tell them?" He turned just in time to have Khalid hovering over him, eying the food with some disgust. "What, you don't like it?" "No, nothing. But what you decide isn't how it has to be, Ryou." Khalid said, taking a hold of the boy's elbow and leading him away from the stove. Yugi hung up the phone slowly, then looked to Kawi and Ember. "That was Khalid. He says that Kira's back."

"Poo!" Kira blinked. She hadent heard that from kai before. Kai reached twards his father "poooo" Kira gently took ahold of ryou stoping him for a moment "What is he meaning?"
"Aw come on kid say it right! Say s**t! s**t!" luci said.
Kawi and ember both blinked "Really?" ember said. "lets go see!"
"not in your nightgown"
"uhh..yea im going to get changed..." ember said. she walked back to find atem dressed "Guess what? kawi's out of the hospital and kiras alive!"

Ryou's eyes flashed angrily as he looked towards Luci. "He's just a kid. He doesn't need to hear language like that, much less use it. Refrain from cursing in my son's presence." He said coldly, as he went over to Kira and took Kai from her. "They... what?" Atem blinked, stunned. "I mean, that's great. Is it true?"

Luci laughed. He liked seeing ryou angery. "Aw now everybody needs to learn to curse. Like ********!" luci smirked "******** I know im missing a few."
"Stop it." Kira said not looking at him.
Luci smirked. He grabed kira by the hair lifting her up a few inches to his eyes level "You were saying?"
"S-Stop it!" kira said squirming a bit "Dont swear infront of him..."
"I guess so. Where going to find out" ember said and started to get dressed.

"Let go of her!" Ryou snapped, pushing away the arm Khalid had put around his waist to stop him from advancing forward. He had just gotten Kira back; he wasn't about to let this demon push her around.
"Ah." Atem nodded. "I'm going to go see Kawi. I suppose you'll come and meet us and then we'll leave."

Ryou hesitated, knowing that Luci couldn't be meaning that in a kindly manner. "Yes. Just... don't throw her or anything."
