What was he he doing? What if he rolled off the thing and cracked his little head? Oh gods, Sevilin would kill her and he would scream and it would be really really bad. "Wait! You can't move yet, you have nothing on down there!" She shook her head and tossed the cloth over her shoulder, then reached down and flipped the baby onto his back, pressing a hand lightly on his stomach to hold him in that position. "I need rope to tie you down, don't I? Or runes, though I don't think that would be a good idea. It would hold you in place..." Yes that was definitely an option. She was falling into that easily frustrated mindset and finally she set her shoulders and determined that she would get the diaper on the baby and he wouldn't roll off before she could manage it either. Thus she started trying to get the diaper on him once again. How was this silly thing supposed to work anyway? Blowing out a breath she suddenly got an idea. She laid the cloth out next to him and then glanced at him. "Roll." The baby would roll onto the cloth, she'd pull it up like covers, he'd be covered and she'd somehow secure it, shove him in his pants and drop him off with his father. Yes, she had a plan now!

Malik got the picnic basket set up, everything going right. and back upstairs thought real fast. he was not going out unarmed..before hearing Zahara say 'Roll.' Well..what was that about...a look in, and a chuckle, he couldn't help it.
"Having a little trouble there, Zahara? Want me to get Piper?"

A little protesting noise as she flipped him back over, but it soon dissolved into a giggle as her hand on his stomach was a ticklish feeling, seeing as she was trying to hold him down but not squish him. More kicking from him and he grabbed hold to her wrist, making some nondescript noises as if he was telling her to let go. Hey he liked his newfound abilities of movement...even if he got next to nowhere and he merely giggled at her again. See, this is why I miss you. Then he merely looked at her and blinked like she was stupid at her command with a noise to match. Though another noise and a look of purple eyes over to Malik as he walked in. Hey it's you! Hi. Noise.
He insisted to go get armed and she'd let him, meanwhile she was busy listing things off too Keely as the girl took notes on things that were needed to be done, that is when she wasn't in the nursery. Babysitting was now the girl's priority. Though she looked up some towards upstairs, even though she really couldn't see anything, as she felt a little brush of amusement from Malik. Hm...

"What's the matter? You were so excited to do it a minute ago..." Then he made that noise, the noise that meant someone else was around and she about died of embarassment when Malik of all people popped up. Turning she kept one hand on the baby's stomach to keep him from rolling and smiled at Malik. "No actually I'd rather you didn't get Piper. Kariel was demonstrating his attempt to begin movement which I'm sure as you know is a great thing to a little elf." Then she had an idea. "Actually Malik I could use your help. After all I'm sure you've changed Malikhai before so you should be an old pro at this. I know how much infants need to be changed." she had a pretty good idea that Malik had never even been near a changing table with a baby on it. Piper did everything for that baby. A raise of an eyebrow before she turned back and shook her head. "This cannot be that hard...show me what you can do Malik."

Malik smirked lightly nad walked over, idly taking the cloth off Zahara's shoulder. Yeah, Malik never changed Malikhai, Piper did that. but that didn't mean Malik didn't siphon off the process so he could if he had to. After all, Piper couldn't be there all the time, Fianna's rules.
So...little feet picked up in one hand, cloth slide under him with the other. front side bent up and around his legs, aroudn the waist, flaps under him, the back sides brought forward, pair of safety pins, and voila, instant Diaper. Course Piper prolly did a much better job, but his method worked.
"Anything else, Zahara?"
Trying really hard not to laugh.

Again tugging at her wrist as she held him down again and of course the moment she didn't want him to roll around he did want to. Wasn't that just the way? Though Zykariel made grabby hands for Zahara, seeing as Malik more or less had to brush her hand off of him to show her what to do. And he squirmed the whole time, and even more when he was finished. Aw, he had been enjoying the no diaper fun. Why'd you have to go do that. And where's daddy anyway? I know you're not him, you're a different but I don't know how exactly. And of course since he wasn't being help down...roll once or twice. Hey it was fun and he was trying to be mobile.

She was less than amused and had to resist from hitting him, which she really wanted to do. But her voice was sugary sweet when she replied, "Thank you Malik. I appreciate that." Then rushing forward to catch the baby before he popped right onto the floor. A shake of her head. "No I think that'll do it." Then a smirk of her own. "Unless you'd like to nurse him too?" A pointed look to his chest. Flat, so no milk supply. Wasn't likely he could do that. "But since I don't think you can, I think we're set." Of course knowing him he'd probably pull out something necromantic that would make his chest grow and voila he'd have instant boobs....which she did not want to see. She did intend to pull off that diaper once Malik left and learn how to do it. She'd watched, even though he'd done it fast...had to learn sometime right? "Don't you have a wife and child of your own to see to or bother?"

Then a slight chuckle as he walked out, and picked up Malvolence and strapped it to his hip, and came downstairs, taking Malikhai from Piper and handing her the basket.

And he was being kept from rolling again but then he was picked up at the same time too. Okay that worked. Thus hands latched to the fabric of her top, letting his free hand flail a little because it facinated him on some level, looking all around with his big purple eyes and giving a giggle, reaching up to tuf at Zahara's hair then.
She blinked. "Shouldn't you be carrying this and me that?" Giving a little chuckle, seeing as it was all in fun...Malik loved to hold his son apparently and did it whenever he got the chance. Funny...she could see that little tifts of 'it's my turn now'...it was just funny to think about wasn't it? Giving a shrug before starting out. "What was?"
He nuzzled his face into his father as he was plucked from his mother, common place getting comfortable gesture. After all, when you were too little to lift your own head you wanted to nuzzle things into comfort for yourself. A little bit of wriggling, blinking at the world around him with a look that said 'oh just wait till I'm mobile'.

She grinned down at him for a moment and then debated on whether she should pull his diaper off and redo it, then decided that probably wouldn't be the best of ideas since she still didn't know how to do it for sure. A shift of him lightly and his tugging made her think that he might be hungry. But first he needed pants, didn't he? So she plopped him back down gently and got him dressed appropriately then picked him up again. "Are you hungry Kariel? I can handle that one." Thus sitting down and pulling off her top, guiding him to the source he needed for food.

WHat no bottle? Fine with me. Hey he was more than happy for a free meal, even if her starting to ween off of a compeltely liquid diet. After all, he was indeed starting to get teeth at about this point which meant chewing, along with tugging, had become yet another of his favorite activites, right up there with that attempt at crawling and such. Of course that all in mind he only nursed but for so long before he was done, or just more interested in something else in the room or different food. Point was he was happy she was there, evidenced by the way that he kept making sure he had a hand on her all the time.

A small smile, and leading them outside, keeping his son braced agasint his chest and grinning lightly over at Piper.
"Lakeside work for you?"
That's where he started heading. anyplace with even less threats was good. and untampered and uninfested water was always a plus.

"Oh, that explains the little jolt of amusement for you...though I do hope you didn't torture her about it...after all it isn't that easy at first." Though practice made perfect, right? Of course. Parents helped to because demonstration was a wonderful learning tool. Yay for parents. "You know it works for me, I love that lake." Walking in stride with him out to said lakeside and perching on thier proclaimed favorite, for various reasons, little rock outcropping there. Though yes...a rather paranoid watchful look around...after all, Malikhai was a bite sized snack out here. "And why is she with Zykariel anyway?"
Of course this was new and thus caused big silvery eyes to want to look around, of course he was still in that tracking phase but with the walking it made it easier for him to get a look at more than one thing for ten seconds. Oh look at this...it's all new...and of course to him it wasn't dark, seeing as he had his father's vision skills. This was not like inside...let's just grip at clothing some nad wrigging in daddy's hold and a noise or two.

She let him suck though she did wince a few times when he yanked and bit. She knew he had teeth but now she knew in an entirely different way. A very intimate way she never really wanted to find out about. He was a rather exuberant baby, wasn't he? "You're probably still hungry aren't you?" But he wanted solid food now. She set him down on the ground to let him play at going mobile and retied her top then let him play for a bit. That's what he wanted anyway and this would let him roll without danger. Then she'd take him down and get him some banana or something.

Hello floor, I'm very familiar with you. Zykariel sat there a moment before a bit of squirming got him scooting across the floor some before he plopped forward on his tummy, though didn't seem worse for wear. Thank the carpet in the room for that. Okay, we can do this body, we can do this. Making motions to pull his knees under himself, his rear up in the air from the uneven levels before he pushed his hands under himself. Okay, we're up off the floor...now squirm. Of course which resulted in some sort of crawling motion from him and a giggle. Forward motion!
