The reason why banning guns will never succeed is because only law-abiding people will not have them. Criminals would get them illegally and crime would skyrocket, since they'd know nobody else would have guns.
A guy asks you to answer him. If you tell the truth, he will gut you. If you lie, he will decapitate you. If you say he will decapitate you, he can do neither. If he were to do as you said, you'd be telling the truth, and he'd have to gut you instead, but if he guts you, you'd be lying, so he'd have to decapitate you.
1337 was genius in its time. It was original purpose was for software pirates in chat rooms that were monitored by trigger word sensors. For example: The word " hacks " would trigger a sensor and that chat would be logged or something and the people busted. However, " h4x " was not registered as a trigger word, and they could use that instead and go without notice.
