Recalling the dragon back into his Pokeball for the time being, Chloe headed back in the direction of town, hoping to get a room at the Pokecenter for the night. After a bit of searching, Chloe spotted the familiar building, smiling at the sight. It wasn't hard to determine the local Pokecenter from the other buildings in town.
After a brief conversation with the resident Nurse Joy, Chloe found herself tucked away in bed, after releasing Entreri, Saku, and Alkaid from their Pokeballs, since they were relatively small enough to fit in the room without causing any trouble. While Entreri fought tooth and nail to stay away from the ever-curious duo of Shelgon and Swablu, the three soon fell asleep from exhaustion after a brief chase.

The next day found Chloe exiting the Pokecenter, Entreri following reluctantly behind her as the two left the glass double doors behind. Chloe had opted to return the rest of her party to their Pokeballs fror the time being, wanting to spend a bit of time with the begrudging Sneasel. Entreri wanted nothing to do with this "quality time" and instead spent his time following along silently, not heeding Chloe's questions on what he'd like to do. He watched Mauville silently, intelligent eyes noting every detail, but not caring to comment on anything.
Chloe eventually sighed, resigned as to getting the Sneasel's opinion on anything, making her way back to the shore of the small lake south of Mauville. She spotted a familiar trainer, and grinned.
"Hey, Sasha!" she waved.

"Oh, yeah, I have to say grats on passing the exam, how was it?" Chloe asked. She wasn't sure how hard the Joy exam would have been, but she had a feeling you had to know your stuff in order to get the nomination.
Chloe smiled slightly at Sasha's last statement, curiosity piqued. "What's up?" she asked, "Something wrong?"

Chloe blinked, once, twice, the statement taking a bit to sink in. "Uh..." she sheepishly grinned, unsure as to what to say. Now Entreri was getting a big kick out of her situation of course, and was snickering a bit as Chloe tried to come up with what to say. She moved to poke him with the tip of her boot, but the agile ice type skittered out of the way, easily avoiding the assault as he continued to laugh, chuckling to himself as he took refuge in a nearby oak tree, clawing his way to the top, before perching on a branch above, toothy grin from ear to ear, looking quite like a certain Cheshire cat from a certain old story.
Chloe stuck her tongue out at the wayward Sneasel, before turning her attention back to the situation at hand. "Uh, well, I'm not quite sure what to say," she admitted with a small smile. "I'm flattered I suppose, since I don't really consider myself that special, especially not special enough to earn anyone's affection." It was true, the closest relationship she had ever had was with Israfel back in Blackthorn, but he had just been solely a friend, and the two had spent more time getting in trouble with Claire than anything else.
"But..." Chloe continued, taking a gulp, "I don't... I don't really think I'm too interested in getting in any relationships with anyone," she admitted reluctantly. "I have the bad habit of having past acquaintances becoming enemies," she tried to chuckle, but it came out more of a choke as the memory of Israfel popped back into mind.
"I hope you'll understand," she murmured, forcing another smile, and wishing she had a rock to throw at Entreri, who was still laughing quietly at his trainer.
"And don't feel bad about it," Chloe smiled, wiping the tear that had appeared in Sasha's eye the moment before her confession. "I... I just don't think I'm cut out for a relationship," she scratched her head sheepishly.
