-Mykal No. Tyranids only have Warp Field for thier invurnerable, it's only available to thier psykers, and it only grants a 6+ invulnerable save.

Reddemon Dark Lore Seraphine-Exalted Dark Lore Have any of you read print 4 of the Chaos codex?(latest print) It may only be out here in the UK at the moment but Doom Sirens have become disgusting... Now they allow the bearer to strike first regardless of weapons or ablities or cover:S arrggh I10 powerfists!!! and whats more they can be put on dreadnaughts... *shudder* This is not true, the powerfist rule overrides the doom siren, therefor, powerfist still strikes at I1. (check on the front page of the codex, it tells you which print it is.) Trust me i've checked with managers in the region and with head office, The Doom siren ignores the I1 for powerfists, as it clearly states 'Strikes first regardless of weapons or inititive' *from Codex Chaos Space marines 4th printing* Is the front picture of two Black legion Chaos space Marines? Lets settle this its not on the cover... read the inside first page, on it it has credits etc, then it says first printing or second printing etc. Mine has 4th printing.

If in doubt, download the FAQ from the GW site that clarifies such trivial matters.

I've been reading the rules, and I've found a few ways to make a beardy but balanced army list.

Or you can be just like me, and not worship anybody and take like 2 or 3 vey skills My view on this differs. Although you might beat anything with diversity, you wont beat everything with it! If I take 4 completely shooty anti infantry squads, and you take 3 shooty anti infantry squad and 1 shooty anti tank squad, you will do the same as me, apart from one of your squads not doing what its supposed to. Thereby losing usefulness and making a higher probabillity of me winning. Although its a basic example, this also applies to 40k units. Take for example a khorne army. Although a complete shooting space marines army will stand quite a good chance, a space marine army with some assault units will be allot less useful. 40k is about exploting the niche of each unit and making sure your opponent cant. This being said, a diverse army will nearly never win against a specialised army, but there are certain armies a specialised army will never win against (ph34r my berserkers! - I think not, fear a tank squadron! - o noes!). -Seph

So why is the most forgiving army to play Space Marines, who are the consummate jacks of all trades in 40k? They can asssault, they can shoot, they can rapid deploy, or they can stand and fight. Specialization crams you into a rock-paper-scissors mold, where you are good against some armies and other armies will destroy you with ease. Generalization keeps your effectiveness against multiple army types, and that's why you see so many "take-all-comers" lists. Certainly, if I wanted to kit out an anti-horde Chaos list, I could take Iron Warriors and field a bunch of squads with heavy bolters, and have a bunch of ordnance in Defilers and a Basilisk, but that list would get destroyed in a tourney by an Armored Company or Godzilla 'Nid list, which you may run into. It's why Obliterators and Fire-Knife Crisis suits are so popular. They're generalists, able to knock out tanks, or deal with heavy infantry, or shoot hordes as needed. Taking three troops that are anti-infantry and one that has an anti-tank gun isn't stupid, it's smart, so that when your dedicated anti-tank guns are all dead, you aren't screwed.
