Thanksgiving is also my favorite holiday. If he can't make it up then. I have to wait for Christmas.

UNCG (where I'm at now) gives Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. UNC-A (where I did my undergraduate work) was the same way.

Enjoy your mini vacation Mermaid! Congrats to Brody on the job update!
As for the thanksgiving thing, all colleges and unis vary.
I'm needing to set up a physical checkup for my doc, I realized I haven't had one in years!

A card? heh what would you send me one for? *hugs*
I'm hoping if I go for this physical, I can somehow work it out so both my husband and I can go to the tobacco cessation classes together. That and I'm going to try to see if maybe they could link my migraines to my wisdom teeth, I haven't had the money to get them taken out. sweatdrop
Is Frank going to come up to see you or you to Frank for the holidays? I think that's going to be so nice!

lunashock I'm needing to set up a physical checkup for my doc, I realized I haven't had one in years! *twitch* I hate physicals. But then again I doubt anyone's fond of strange women/men checking out their personals. And getting your blood drawn. That's no fun either. And peeing in those little cups isn't exactly dignified. xd

*chuckles* When I was preggo I had the hardest time peeing in cups!! I swear it was like som Jim Carrey/Ben Stiller comedy stuff.
I figure it couldn't be any worse than the GYN.

I would send one because uh...I want to...I'm making a list of people who would accept cards from me. redface

And ride bikes. *gulp* I haven't been to the GYN yet...how bad is it? I heard from my mom that's it's really bad, but I could use other opinions. My grandma apparently hated it so much she hasn't been to a doctor in about 10 years. I'm due for a physical myself, actually...lucky me...mom forgot. wink

It's not too terribly bad, I went today. You're going to be nervous and worried, but to me, that's how I would want it. I just don't see myself comfy while I'm getting probed!! They also have the highest malpractice. Most of the time it's over in like 10 minutes, so I really don't think it's too bad.
It's almost like a sisterhood where once you go, you know ho much it sucks and can instantly relate to anyone on that level! xd

The worst part was have a pap when I still had scar tissue that hadn't stretched out from when I had my son. They didn't seem to understand how much it hurt.

My doctor is kinda creepy. And she has very cold hands. Over in ten minutes? Feh, my neighbor took me to an appointment because I had to babysit her daughter while she went in, and she was in that room for at least 40 minutes! Not the waiting room, mind you, she had been called in! The funny thing was, I didn't know it was a GYN's office until after the appointment. I hadn't seen the sign on the way in. Even the number of pregnant women that went in didn't tip me off. xp

40 minutes?? maybe they just had her wait back there. Here they don't call you back until they are going to do what they need to do.
It's really simple. Sometimes they do a breast exam which unless they find something odd, it's quick. They check your ovaries with fingers, they use the speculum to get the pap on the outside and inside of the cervix. She asked if I needed an STD test, which I declined, so that would be another one they would do. sweatdrop It's pretty quick, they usually walk you through each step of what they are doing.
Something I learned from Tommy that it's a lot of psychology that he's had to use in the hospital, is how they word things. They don't say spread your legs, but rather pull your knees apart which is less personal.
It'll be okay Ella! And Kasumi is right, it's quicker to get in the morning.
