Tybalt attempted a smile at Amrita and nodded.
"Yeah, I think Red's definitely earned it."
Maybe she'd even like the little bit company that their emblems offered? It was certainly better than leaving her alone like this. Alone... Wasn't there someway they could bring her remains back to Amityville...? Why did they have to leave her here by herself?
"I'm sure we'll find Whisper, Mei, and the others." He spoke to both Bul and Natalia, tightening his own grip on Natalia's hand; offering what little encouragement he could.

Natalia's and Amrita's approach couldn't be any more timely. One had been a teammate with Mei, and probably one of the few people who could help him find her if she was still around. The other had requested the very thing he could not find the words to ask.
"I... thank you.." he replied to Tybalt with a faint smile. "I really hope we do- no, no I know that we will somehow." Narrowing his eyes he lifted his hand and did what he could to summon his emblem. He'd usually kept it pre-summoned in a pocket but seeing as he lacked anything resembling clothing he had to make due with a new one.
The small disc shimmered for a moment before he set it beside Tybalt's atop the remains.

West's smile faded as the chunk he had loosened joined the first two. The demon looked down at his hand, loosening his fingers and sighing. For a moment, he had almost felt better. Without a word he stood there, staring silently at the dent he had left in Red's stony remains.

"Thank you..." She said softly, returning the attempted smile. "She...She really did..." The ghoul agreed, finally wrestling up the courage to untangle her arms from Remi's and to carefully get to her backwards feet. Poor Remi would find that he wasn't about to be completely let go though, as she grasped his hand like he was her lifeline, just assuming he would follow her as she slowly moved towards the remains. What was left of Red's skull was given a quiet look, before her pin joined Tybalt and Bul's. The latter received another attempt at a smile, but it was brief; she was still hurting, and that was unlikely to go away any time soon. "We'll find our friends, Bul." She assured him quietly, the determination in her voice was there, shining faintly through the sadness.

"Yeah." She replied optimistically, looking to both Bul and Tybalt, and then to Amrita as she came through as quiet as usual. Even if the chances seemed slim, Natalia wouldn't give up. Mei and LW were her best friends, and whoever else perished with them were friends or acquaintances at the very least!
And Whisper...well...She just wouldn't give up on any of them.
"Thank you." The monster whispered to Tybalt, and then to Red in a lower tone. Placing the newly summoned pin beside the others, Natalia stood erect and slipped her free hand into Bul's, the bit of plate she had gathered from their professor in between the hold.

Sin felt sick inside and outside her body throbbed painfully, Alcie...it couldn't be, so quickly. She saw Julian and moved towards him but then the blinding light...and Red. Sin's eyes widened at the sight, the skull, the horror of it all. What new trick was this? She refused to believe that Red could really be gone, Red was...well she was Red.
She moved over to Julian and set her hand on his shoulder.
"She's not really gone...Alcie is probably in a pumpkin patch right now...safe...and...and Red."
She bit her lip trying to figure out what happened, what to say, how to get Julian to snap out of it.
"You don't really believe she's gone? Professor Red loved to mess with us, she's probably laughing her a** off right now...this is just a test, just a stupid test. You'll see...come on we'll...we'll take her back to school and...and the Headmistress will know what to do, she'll fix this..."
She had to, she had to fix this, because if their professor ha really just died infront of them, then what hope was there? Why were they learning anything at all? If they would all just be slaughtered like this, or turned into weapons, or worse...if Red hadn't survived, how could any of them?
"Come on.." Sin moved towards the massive horns and frowned, it seemed somehow wrong to...break them...but they couldn't take the whole skull in one piece.

Shehk hadn't gotten very high up before she'd paused in her climbing, looking over to the group who stood next to the remains and what they were doing. She stopped, climbing back down to join them, patting a hand on Tybalt and Bul's shoulders. "Mind if I bandwagon with you two?" she asked. Shehk had only given her emblem to one person. And that person was..Jack, she didn't even know where they were at the moment, it was a slightly frightening though.
Shehk fussed through her pockets to find a copy of her own emblem as well, setting it on the now forming pile. "We should leave as many as possible..if they'll offer any sort of solace.." she agreed with the black dog's statement. It felt weird, talking about someone who had passed like that.
She nodded at Amrita as well before she looked back to the rocky face she'd been climbing. For a moment she seemed to think about returning to her task with it, but soon all she found she could was stare at the scene in front of her, a single tear running down her cheek. It wasn't supposed to be this way, it wasn't supposed to be this way, it wasn't supposed to be this way.....

Remi did not know what to do, so he looked out over the remains of the battle field... and patted Amrita on the head a few times. He felt the same way she did... he was sure they all did. They just all expressed it in different ways. The kitsune wa the type to bottle such emotions... and release them later. All the same though, he just couldn't leave the ghoul. Let alone move. Looking up he noticed that a few others were placing pins on top of the remains. Scrunching up his face, he used what little power (Why was this harder than before?!) to summon his own pin to add to the pile. "Hey y-" He began to call out a moment before he was cut off with a yelp. Remi once again almost lost his balance.. only keeping it barely. He was going to call out to Tybalt, and ask if the boil would put his pin on the pile... but it seemed a particular Vetala had a different idea, and he wasn't about to complain. Too lazy to, really. In his free hand he gripped his own pin, and placed it down gently next to Tybalt, Bul's, Whisper's, Shehk's, and Amrita's. Turning, he gave a nod to Bul, Whisper, Shehk, and Tybalt as well, having enver met them it felt like he needed to at least greet them. Placing his free hand on Amritas head, he ruffled at her hair a little. "Im sure everyone is safe and sound..." Captain optimism, Ahoy!

Sin watched as the others placed their emblems and frowned was she the only one who held out the hope that Red wasn't...couldn't really be...
Her fist tightened and she frowned as she heard a crunching sound and looked down horrified as the clump of ash she held. Jack damn-nit all! She stared down at the ash and felt her eyes stinging. With a deep breath she grappled her emotions back down and grabbed for another piece of the horn. She wasn't going to cry, crying wasn't going to bring Red back...and she doubted the Professor would have wanted them snotting all over her skull.

Sin moved to try again to break a piece off the massive horns, she considered laying down her pin, but...no it seemed like defeat. The tribute was moving, but Sin didn't want there to e a need for a tribute at all!

Sin yanked again at the massive horns trying to knock a piece free...and maybe relieve some of the ache and frustration that she felt inside. The sensation of anger and helplessness seemed to be growing instead of diminishing.

Sin struck the horn again, but this time she struck too hard and a soft cry escaped her as the piece beneath her fists crumbled away into ash. She stroked the jagged line where the piece had been and felt her memory fall back to a safer time.
It was before, before the first field trip, before maniac toys, or a dreaded island, or this terrible house...her first ever class with Professor Red.
She had been late, and overconfident, and spoiled to her core, and Red had set her down a notch by running them down like frightened rabbits. She had felt irritated then, but now she wanted to laugh. It was sad that just because her Professor might really be gone, she finally appreciated the lessons Red had taught her.
Sin hastily moved to brush away the wetness she felt along her cheek and moved to try again to take a piece of the horn.

The barrier was gone, but Xiu still didn't move, her attention slowly moving towards Note. She reached out slowly to pet at the familiar with her now-aching hand, her eyes filling with tears again. "...I just want to go home." She whispered. There was so much regret. If she had been stronger, braver, then maybe...
It was with a kind of horror that the baku turned to regard their classmates attacking Red's skull. At first, she didn't understand--how could they do that to her?! After all she did? And then..."...They want to bring her back." She spoke up suddenly, her eyes widening slightly, "Back home..."
And didn't Red deserve a proper burial back in Halloween? What made her the most upset was that some of the hunters made away with a piece of their professor--to them, she was merely a trophy--but it was different for the students of Halloween. Shakily, she rose back up to her feet, looking from Note to Vaith as she swallowing a lump in her throat. "Let's...let's go help bring Red back home."
Stumbling towards the skull, she chose a small spot away from where the other students stood. Kneeling down, she grabbed a small stone and slowly began to chip away at one of the pieces. With each strike, she apologized silently to their former-professor.
Unfortunately, it seemed as if she had hit too hard. The piece crumbled into ash right in front of her.

Staring at the broken piece, Xiu wondered if she should continue on. Perhaps it was best for her to give up, now? Let her rest in peace? However, as she thought that, a part of her mind demanded to know how Red could rest in peace in a place like this. What she deserved was to be back home, and if they couldn't bring her back whole, then...then all they could do was bring small parts of her back to Amityville.
Xiu began to chip away at the skull again, swallowing the lump that kept forming in her throat.

Even as the barrier finally dissipated and the last wretched trace of humans vanished, Toby did not seem inclined to move from her lone spot in the middle of the grounds, just standing there, her shaking horn agape, lone eye trained on the scene that unfolded. There were students crawling out from high and low to congregate around the body, some even going so far as to pull and strike at the sparse remains. What were they doing? Probably taking whatever they could back to Amityville, she figured. It was a noble gesture the falsicorn understood, if nothing else, yet the thought of emulating that left her feeling sicker than ever.
She couldn't do it. She hadn't earned it. She wasn't brave enough. She--
... What was that sound?
Her woeful thoughts were only interrupted by a noise she recognized: approaching paw steps of something a little smaller than her, accompanied by a dull, strained scraping of something dragged along for the ride. Before she even turned to look, she felt familiar fur brushing against her knees, and there was Iris, looking up at her from between her forelegs: winded, and a little charred, but intact. He'd even seemed to 'recollect' her spilt bag and carried it around his neck, though the fabric was licked by smolder and ash.
Never had the ghoul been more relieved to see her beloved scareon and even in sorrow, she wasted no time in rubbing her muzzle all over his face, taking in the feeling of his coat, the wetness of his nose, and the hidden tremors in his frame. He seemed just as eager to reciprocate, too, clearly more frightened than he was trying to let on from.. well, everything. Who wouldn't have been terrified, after all that?
Well... at the very least, they couldn't stand here in this spot forever, could they? Once their tender reuniting had come to pass, Iris seemed to be trying to coax her forward with soft headbutts on her ankles, and she... she knew already that he was right. They needed to go join the mass of other students she could see all too clearly, now. Shehk and Sammy were there, at the very least, and they... well, now, they were doing something a little different by the remains. At least they'd survived for certain, right? Small blessing, small blessings...
Jack, she didn't want to be near the remains. Every step felt weaker as she took it, but the quiet falsicorn still persisted, if only because of her smaller friend.
