Before the Medic student could respond, a large hand would cover her mouth as her partner thrust himself forward "Shut yer jabber box ya mouthy s**t! This is far from over!" The boy barked, gritting his teeth as he glared at the much smaller child.
As if to prove his point the flames would wash over Zeus without leaving a scratch, the Hitmonchan giving a confident smirk as he looked over his gloves.
Maribelle on the other hand would twirl about in the wake of a certain Quagsire's cascading Watergun, an umbrella held between her hands as she giggled. This time around both Pokemon had failed spectacularly in their assault. Maybe they only had luck with counters?
"Shut this little runt up Zeus! We've brought down the lighting now bring on the shower!" The Strike Student barked, at last dropping his hand from his partner's mouth.
Gasping for breath the girl would promptly kick her partner right in the kneecap "What are ya trying to do ya big ape!? SUFFOCATE ME!?" She hollered, for once her voice carrying well above her partner's barking. Before he could possibly reply the girl let out a sigh "Maribelle, Helping Hand. This doof needs all the aid he can get."
Putting away the umbrella, the girl's Chansey would smile warmly. Reaching into her pouch again she would next pull out a small pink and white baton. Swinging it a few times loosely, the Pokemon would thrust it into the air and say ">Rah<" Once more using the most quiet, gentle tone any cheer had ever contained.
Yet again this seemed enough for Zeus though, the Hitmonchan taking off and quickly picking up speed once again. Rather then aiming for the Lampent this time he'd rocket straight for Salacia. Elbow ducked in, eye on target, the Hitmonchan would thrust his fist forward...but in the single motion what should have been one punch would become three...and as the right fist went back the left would come forward and repeat the process. Ducking and weaving around his target Zeus would loose a hailstorm of blows, all of them directed at the Quagsire. It was a move that relied on neither power nor accuracy, sacrificing it all for pure speed. Under such a tremendous number of blows one couldn't help but hit...that was the key to Comet Punch!

((Work post~))
She watched on at the spectacle, she knew that Hitmonchan was on the most minimal health possible, but they'd failed to finish it... Balanced on the edge of life and death, one blow too hard could finish it, one blow too soft wasn't enough...
And now they'd changed tactics, instead going for the Quagsire...
If counters had worked before... "Shower's cancelled!"
"Burnout? Astonish!"
[As you wish!] The Lampent turned, and then suddenly vanished!
And Zeus would strike, again and again; but to Victoria and the boy's surprise, Solacia wouldn't even need to dodge. she wouldn't even feel it.
There was a shadow looking over her, looking and protecting her, getting in the way of the punches, and finally, when the barrage was over, the shadow rose up, spindly and alive, with two glowing orbs of eyes and a jagged shadowy mouth.
Fighting moves had no effect on ghosts, as a fire lot within the shadows mouth.
[What's the matter? Out of steam?] and then he launched himself, mouth open he rushed to consume the Hitmonchan, looking I Astonish it in the most terrifying way possible!
((Edit: Woot!))

One counter-attack, and then ......the threat in front of her face vanishes as it would seem that against all reason ....Salacia would attack again. The pain of the attempt would burn through out her muscles, but it didn't stop her ....as the water spew out ...towards her intended target. Her eyes were narrowed and she looked quite dangerous at that moment ....as she would use her move once more ....the watergun missing as the Hitmonchan was dropped from in front of her, but her attack was aimed at another at that moment.
It would swirl as it came at the Chansey ....a spew of water with enough force to literally push her opponent into the ground if they weren't lucky or paying much attention. It matter very little to her then ...which was which ...as she made her attack plain and very well pointed as the water splashes towards her unintended victim as the Quaqsire smiles.
Victoria would almost roll her eyes as she saw the attack that the Lampent had used. A counter-attack with head heat wave might have made the biggest differences in that moment, but there was nothing that she could do as she watches as her pokemon continues her rampage without her command. This time it was to exhaustion as she continued her rain of attacks ....as the pokmeon's tail thump the ground once before the water spew forth.
"I tolda you didn't I?"
"NOw, it's two on one, if you love ....your pokemon ....or at least respect your partner, you might want to call it off. Otherwise, we will kill her, so do you want to take or deal from before?"
"We need information, and you .....will be out of the tournament completely if we managed to kill one of them."
The girl would declares lightly with a smile.

"Not to mention your Chansey has no offensive attacks capable of hitting my Lampent." Jasmine added in.
"Even if by any miracle you can beat my partner's Quagsire, you wouldn't be able to beat him."
She had no idea on Victoria's thoughts at the counter-attack, she'd chosen the weaker move hoping to attack the Hitmonchan without death being a likely cause, and happily so it seemed avoiding any fatal injury...
She looked back to Victoria though there, there was a flaw in asking the girl to give up... then back to the girl with the Chansey once more, "As a medic, I understand we don't normally give up a fight..."
"But consider this more like regrouping until you have a chance to fight us again sometime."

The scratch would cut deep into skin and fur ....as a three claw deep long gash would appear on her side as the pokemon would scream in pain. She would quickly retreat backwards as she gave off a sound of a monkey ....and her tail would curl quickly over her back .....as she turns ...seemingly away.
Though ...it was only a ploy as she would slash it out quickly towards him ....water gripping it as it would come forward towards the Totodile's face as she uses Aqua Tail.

First and foremost as Victoria finished her speech, and before Jasmine had even begun her words the boy would begin to growl. Teeth grinding, heart pounding, the vein on his head throbbed more prominently then a Primeape as he stomped his right foot against the ground. When Jasmine was done speaking his anger would boil over; but before he could shout his retort a hand would clamp over his mouth.
Giving him a sideways glance, the Medic girl would be the one whom chose to reply, and as she did the boy would recall his Hitmonchan. "I would first like to state that, for the record..." The girl began calmly, looking over in the direction of Jasmine "...that everything you just said was a complete waste of breath and time oh exalted Queen of the Obvious" She stated, rolling her eyes slightly and in the same motion carrying her gaze to Victoria.
"As for you..." The girl said, recalling her Chansey "I know when I'm beat...but for a Tactic's student you're not very smart are you?" She remarked, arching a brow as she patted her partner's shoulder "Always have an exit strategy."
The moment the girl said this the boy clenched his fist, a bright glow exuding from the student's gloved right hand. Muscles bulged, his shirt ripping as his body noticeably enlarged as a result, veins throbbing as his strength increased. Roaring like a beast the young man would strike the ground, a thick cloud of dust following the impact.
When the air cleared all that would remain was a crater, and a few glittering coins. Footsteps could be heard faintly in the distance, but without knowing exactly which way they'd gone it was unlikely at best the girl's would ever catch up to their prey.
[Burnout & Salacia Earned: 192 + 106 EXP each!]

Victoria was left with her mouth hanging open as the boy literally pulled the hulk on them. Slamming his fist into the ground, the dust would clear with him having vanished and she sighed openly at the end results. She wouldn't have thought that such a thing was possible, but she wasn't going to utter a sound about this display of skill with that disappearance trick.
"Got me on that one."
Though she would give Jasmine a look that could curdle milk.
"You know we need to work on which stance we are planning on together. Either we are going to be the bad guys or the good guys, and right now, good guys aren't going to get us anything."
The girl would say almost as a snap. SHe hated to see that their prey go away, but that whole, you can surrender thing wasn't what she wanted. A Chansey ....gave a lot of experience, Victoria had had no plan of letting her off the hook. The deal was for the pokemon's life, not for her to surrender ....which they had taken as far as Victoria was concern as their right to flee.
She had to keep herself from grounding her teeth at such a thing.
There was a reason for them both to be here, and it wasn't to braid flowers in their opponent's hair. The girl would start to walk again, afterall, the had decided to break cover anyway, and Victoria knew things tend to be better when they were walked and talked anyway ....as she gathered up the gold as she moved. They would need to split it in half more than likely.

Burnout EXP: 309/400
Jasmine look on through the cloud at wherever their former prey would have been, and exhaled slowly.
The girl had pointed it out first, then Victoria did as well, as she kept quiet, and stepped forward, only to place her good hand on Burnout's dome.
She didn't reply to her at first, looking to the Lampent, "You did an excellent job, Burnout, thank you."
And then, only then, as Burnout would nod and take the cue to return to his invisibility once more, Jasmine would follow after Victoria. "You're right."
A little silence, and then, "We need to decide how we play this I mean, and I can't play 'bad cop'. I don't blame the other trainers for this, but I don't want me being timid to stop me from getting what we came for."
"Tell me how you want to play this... and I'll take your lead."
"You keep the money." She declared, "Remember, I don't care about this prize."

Victoria would pocket the money quickly. Though she knew that she should just shut her mouth and not look a gift Pidove in the beak ...she couldn't help herself in saying this.
"You know, you might actually want this prize. How do you know, that the one whom you are hunting for ....might be willing to give them up easily considering what they are worth? Better, yet, what is your plan if you find the guy? Beg him for them back, battle him, or is the entire ....break them out and run your scheme.
Because, either way ....you never know what item, amount, or thing you might need.
I wouldn't be so sure you have everything you need right now."
Victoria would tell Jasmine.
"I Wouldn't turn anything down ....though I will thank you for the gold anyway."
The girl was dead serious. A pokemon worth that amount, if it was her, she wouldn't give it up easily. And if she had to choose of what to do to get it back ...she would look for the most malcontent member of that pyramid and pull that brick out from under that person.
Money might come into play, but then again, it couldn't. Yet in the end, what would it hurt ...nothing, and she knew it.

Jasmine considered, for a second at least, her crutch filling the gaps it took in time for her to ever reply to anything.
"I know that I'm going to need to make it clear to the shop owner... that much at least."
"I won't do anything until after he's acknowledged it was wrong for him to take the deal, and I'll try to offer the TM back..."
"When that more than likely fails, I'll need to get him back by force likely..." She sighed, a little unsure, but it felt like the only thing possible after the initial plea.
"If I need something out of the prize... I'll ask you to let me have it if it's vital."
"But 298 coins? I doubt that will be enough to make any difference just now, so I'll let you keep anything that won't help just yet, it's only fair since I'm asking a lot of you."

"Waaawhoooo!" A masculine voice called from high above the girl's, this one followed by a girlish scream of fright. They were standing by what looked a bit like a canal at this point, and as a large section of tree slid by spraying them with water it was pretty clear they'd ended up near the log flume. The last 'car' in the man-made train would contain two figures, both male. One was grinning broadly, no doubt the source of the cheer; his counterpart on the other hand was horking over the side...the scream then.
"Let's do that again!....oh look! Trainers!" The first of the boy's cheered, practically leaping out of the ride "Think they're students?" He asked, looking to his companion. Standing at 5'4 the boy was tan with blue hair and bluer eyes, his body showing signs of developing muscle. Wearing floral shorts, an unbuttoned shirt, and water shoes looked like he belonged on a beach rather then in a carnival."Oh thank heavens..." His companion groaned over the side of the ride, taking a moment to regain the strength in his limbs before rising. Contrary to the appearance of his partner, this boy was dressed rather finely. Wearing pale gray-brown trousers, polished shoes, a stripped white shirt topped by gray-brown vest and red velvet tie, the boy stood at 5'1 and looked for all the world like a miniature business-man from a few centuries prior. His gray-brown hair was cropped short, the bangs just touching his brows and the back just touching his neck. On his nose sat a small pair of old spectacles, from which he looked through to stare at Victoria and Jasmine analytically. "If they are students they certainly can't be top quality. We'll need more then them to make the grade" He stated firmly, casting a side glance at his partner.
Oddly enough the child would proceed to pull an abacus from under his arm "They don't look like they'll be much for prize money...according to my calculations they shouldn't have any more then....MFFPG!?" Much like there previous opponents one would be cut off by the others hand clamping over their mouth."Save the calculations for later Jeevesy! Lets get this battle rolling!" The blue haired boy exclaimed, clearly caring nothing for the wants of his opponents "Lets give em a good show Leap!" The boy called out, tossing a net ball from his belt into the air."I've told you my name isn't....oh very well" The more dapper lad sighed, straightening his tie before taking a Luxary Ball off his belt "Be prepared Percival!" It certainly looked like the opponents they'd meet from here on out would all have an equally flashy appearance, Jasmine would look up just in time to yank her cloak around her from the spray.
She might not have had any more casts, but she certainly didn't want to get anything on her wet, and certainly not let Burnout get hit being invisible, which made it hard to know where to cover for one thing!
When her sopping wet cape would droop back down, she looked at the two boys before him, cool and carefree and calculating...
But that brought up a point in itself she mentally noted... the carnival WAS running, the rides certainly at least... although that one she'd leave until later.
For now, she looked to Victoria, there was no point in delaying this.
"If a battle's what you want, we'll oblige... but I'd like to know, if we're not worth much to you in money... if you'll maybe bet information instead!"
A rush of flames in mid-air appeared, and there the Lampent would apparate with a shimmer, eyes set forward on them both.
It was a bad match up... a water type and a fire type, similar to theirs...
But unlike their group, they had at least an advantage.
One Jasmine could see as well...

"I was talking about compounding the money for a sizeable chunk, and there is no promise I would be willing to share the prize later on."
The girl would declares sharply to Jasmine, and then she would roll her eyes again at that statement about ....whom was getting more out of this.
"You keep forgetting ...I need you here for a chance at the prize. I don't see how ...."
Victoria was cut off in mid-sentences as it would seem that they weren't alone. She would literally roll her eyes. She would have thought one of them was cute if their mouth had open and revealed their ignorance.
What was that said about a book and it's cover.
She wouldn't even need to clip the pokeball ....as Salacia would walk up behind her. The pokemon had followed simply because she had no where else to go, other than that .....she probably would have headed back on her own ...as she saw the water and her eyes started to shine.
Salacia saw something worth fighting for ....as she saw that one of the opponents was water while the other was fire.
Victoria would just sigh lightly.
"Is this a shadow match, water and fire, vs. water and fire?"
The girl would smile lightly.
"Considering there is no medic between you....a lost here might be the end for your group. If I was you, I would slink away with your tail between your legs quickly."
"My estimation is .....a lost cost more for you than it does for us."
Victoria would tell the boy with the glasses.

"Uh oh...ya shouldn't have said that!" The taller of the two boy's exclaimed, immediately shoving an index finger in each ear, a tad dramatically leaning away from his partner.
At the same instant a scowl would appear on the the more dapper of the two trainers, at the same time a gleam appearing in his eyes. "Such concerns are sole property of the unprepared. While a 'medic' as you called them is handy, even a qualified practitioner cannot save a Pokemon from death so easily. In regards of the relatively low potential of fainting, matched with odds of deterioration of our Pokemon's health, such things are easily negated by use of the proper items" The boy stated clearly adjusting his glasses once he was finished "A good merchant always comes prepared."
The blue haired boy would abruptly cough then cheered "Long story short. Victory outweighs defeat!" With that said the trainer would clap his hands together and shout "Now let's get this battle started! Go for it Leap! DIVE DIVE DIVE!"
Hearing his Trainer's command, the Poliwhirl would immediately race off towards the log flume ride. His slicked feet surprisingly quick, the Water-Type only had one thing to say as he leaped into the air ">Wuuuuwhoooo! CANNONBALL!!!<"
"Quite..." The dapper lad said, already rubbing his brow at the antics of his partner "Percival, Confusion Ray on the Quagsire please" He stated, gesturing to his opponents similarly amphibious Pokemon.
Twitching an ear the Ninetales would open his mouth as if to yawn, but as he did a black-purple sphere would form between his jaws. Once released the orb would begin to spiral, rising and falling haphazardly as it zig-zagged to it's target. It seemed the attack's method of travel was as confusing as it's result!
