(My Rival Battle Begins)

"I wouldn't count on that you worthless piece of trash," Riche sneered. pen knew he hated being called Riche especially by her. "Its Master Richelieu Edwards, you scum of Gaia." He slowly took out his rapier and the anger only grew in his eyes.



However Pen stood as if this wasn't anything knew to her and didn't even go for her katars. She took out a piece of wheat and placed it in her mouth and tried to talk the vampire down.

"Now why are you being so formal with me? I thought we were buddies." Pen had no emotion in her voice but seemed a bit depressed and tired. She took off her coat and cocked her hip. The katars clanged inside the coat when the hit the ground, as this time Pen would rely on her mother's sword.

"We were never on the same level to be even considered that." He stood their with his sword drawn in front of him and waited for Pen to unsheath her weapon.

Pen smirked and sighed, "Now I know you think differently, Riche." She more or less casually walked up to him not even laying a hand on the sword's hilt. The wheat swished around in the air as Pen could see he was getting nervous as she approached. "Now why are you here?"

Luciano looked over at Shade, "Hm. Bloodsuckers are getting lazy these days. . They hate hard work." he walked away before she could say anything and he started to look around for Faolan and Ryn.
"Ryn? Faolan? Where are you two?" he said in a high whisper, looking from door to door.

"Foolish, The Darkness was right, your judgment is clouded by emotions and your idiotic preconceptions" She said, removing her teeth and a pair of false ears.

"See something familiar luciano? I am a light elf, I thought you of all people would notice that" She said.

"Truly a bevy of negative feelings, this man is, Shade, his shameful aura glows bright enough to light the whole castle" Said The Blacklight with a smile, waving his hands and unlocking all of the cells.

Skotti dropped in from the roof, into the Throne room, pulling out his revolvers.

"Why won't you die like the rest!" Riche yelled. The collected professor disappeared as Riche the angst ridden teen came into the moonlight. He continued to lunge, jab and perry but the elf evaded with the ease of a leaf falling to the ground.

"Because you aren't tiring to kill me." Pen answered now with sword drawn. The sword looked old and was a little worn. Chips were evident on the blade and it looked like it was in need of a polishing job. Pen however countered every attack however never tried to hurt the vampire.

"What do you mean by that!" Riche came down hard this time and pushed Pen back. "I have been training all this time to prove myself. Killing you will do just that!"

Pen squinted from the forced and the anger in front of her. What made him think he had to prove himself. He was smart and Pen thought he was a rather strapping young lad to say in the least. What did he need to prove?

Pen threw him off and decided to go on the offensive. She swiped across his chest and the shallow cut began to bleed. Riche charged back this time being able to make a gouge in Pen's shoulder. Pen's sword fell as her arm couldn't hold it up from the pain.

"Now I have you! Penelope you will fall for I'm the better race!" He came forward aiming for Pen's heart. The elf looked up and just crouched there as the point came closer.

An old feeling and memory came back to Riche. He was in the library when a voice called to him from the other end of the bookshelf. He was not alone in that mountain of knowledge, he was being beckoned by another. A surge of usefulness grew in his chest; he was accepted by another.

"Be your own person," it cooed, "my Riche...."

Riche fell to the ground as Pen stood beside his unconscious self. She had waited for the last moment before dodging and slamming him in the ground with a pile driver. She looked rather forlorn about her opponent. Long ago she had offered friendship and his kind took that away from him. He grew by their standards and he gone on to prove himself to them.

"A flock will jump off a cliff, the black sheep however will be saved from that madness." Pen muttered as she gave a moment to let this sink in.

The radio crackled and a familiar voice came across the air. Pen sighed and picked up her old friend. Seeing their was a small structure nearby, a shed it would seem Pen moved the vampire out of the open.

"Tried, but I'll be joining The Blinding soon in the boiler room. Just need to get this weight off my back." Pen piggy backed Riche to the shed and placed him away from the windows. She stood up again and gave another sigh, "Be who you want to be Riche, not what they want." Pen then bent down and gave a peck on Riche's cheek before leaving the shed. She gave a glance back then proceeded to her mission.

"I'm alright, can't say the same for him." Pen said blankly into the radio and reopened the vent. She slid down hoping that would the hardest thing she would have to do today.

Skotti looked around the throne room to see nobody there. "Still playing pirate I see, Darkness..." Said the shadow, sitting upon the throne.

"Oh jeez, shadow, I almost shot you, why aren't you distracting the sentries?" Asked skotti.

"Change of plans, Darkness" said the shadow, drawing his sword.

"What are you doing?" Asked Skotti

"Taking back the glory of the vampires! You and your gang... your pathetic little bunch of Dark Elves, nothing more than a filthy organization lead by an old traitor!" The Shadow lunged as skotti dodged the ninja's attack.

"I don't want to fight you, shadow... but if you have turned I will end you" said skotti, drawing his pistol.

Skotti tossed his jacket aside and tied his headband around his head.

"Look at you, stuck in the past! that headband, that rifle, but you are no longer the darkness, Demon sniper of the blackheart unit, You are as your gang calls you, Skotti Gallows... nothing more!"

Skotti took a few shots at the shadow, but to no avail, the shadow deflected his bullets and tossed some kunai at skotti. Once agian, to no avail, skotti shot the knives out of the air. Skotti threw his revolver aside and got into his CQC stance, "Come on then!".
