purplekitty Nope, and I probably wont for like ever cause of my seniority. I do have three days off though, weds-fri. So thats fine with me. xp Three days off a week sounds nice. I am off today, but sadly it's not by choice. The dental industry has been hit big time by the economy and our little lab is struggling to survive. I've been job searching all week. -sighs-

TwinkelenS t a r Vickicat Hi! We still have meetups every now and then. 3nodding Sometimes it's just hard figuring out a time when everyone can make it. Awesome!
I am sure it can be very hard to find a time where a decent amount of people can attend. Everyone has a different work/life schedule.
My schedule is pretty standard. My Sundays are completely free, and I am usually free Saturday afternoons. n_n I work during the week and am about 30 minutes outside of the Orlando area, so anything Monday-Friday would be difficult for me to attend. Sounds like we might have the same schedule. I work Monday through Friday until 5:00 and I volunteer Saturday until around 4:00.

I have only been home for about two hours today! I was at my volunteer job by 8 and did not leave there until 6:20! We were doing a hysterectomy on a leopard, blood work on a tiger, and giving antibiotics and steroids to another one of our tigers. Crazy day, crazy day.

purplekitty 0-0 whoa a hysterectomy on a leopard?! Hope it went well for the poor thing. I do the same thing too. Good to have a backup. Disney is always hiring XD Yeah, we had to give her a hysterectomy. She had been getting infections for about three weeks and going in and out of heat super fast, that and she was getting really hard to deal with because she was so bitchy. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise though, her uterus was trying to adhere itself to her bladder and surrounding organs because of the infection taking place. If we had waited any longer, she could have possibly died.
I've done the whole "character look alike" audition through Disney as well as auditioned for a singing part as Ariel in one of their shows. I'm not sure I am interested in a service job at Disney, people [as in park guests] can be so rude and I am not sure I have the patience for it. xD

I have my shared of mostly fun and happy guests. I only get a minnimal of the disgruntel ones during the week. But working nights at a hotel is different from the other positions. I like it, good benefits and discounts.

I live too far away to work at Disney for minimum wage. Not to say ALL jobs at Disney are minimum wage, but the ones I would probably start off at would be.

Oh yeah, forgot you live all the way up there. >< Yeah not worth it. Only if you can get a job as one of those actors/performers.

Disney is about 45 minutes to an hour away from my house depending on where I have to go. I would only ever consider the performer positions out there because the pay is decent enough to make is feasible.
It's funny though, because I don't really consider Orlando as being too far away from my house; I am over there all the time. But, to have to drive there every morning, in that crazy traffic, for minimum wage, most definitely is not worth it. xD

I mostly volunteer at Petsmart in Oviedo helping with cat adoptions. The rescue I volunteer for is called Cats Can but they also have a spay and neuter clinic called Spay N Save. It used to be we did a big spay and neuter day one Saturday a month at a vet's office and I helped out with that. Then they were able to raise money to open their own clinic. But sadly I can't volunteer there because I am working when they're open.

That's cool that you volunteer to help with cat adoptions. I always want to take home one of the kitties every time I go into Petsmart. haha
Aw, that sucks! Are they an early morning sort of operation or evening operation?

Soooooo, this is the Orlando Meet-up Topic... and it's kinda dead in here...
Anyway, I was thinking that having another Meet-up would be a lot of fun!
We've done a Mall Meet-up, several Restaurant Meet-ups, 1 (kinda failed) Picnic Meet-up, and a few small parties now. But I'm essentially a boring person, and I'm fresh out of new ideas for excuses to hang-out as a group.
Anyone here have any fun, new ideas? Anything you'd like to do again?
