Xenon gave a relieved sigh, only two more to go and he could grab something to eat. in truth he'd already noticed the changes in his speed, his training wasn't for nothing. Little by little he was growing, getting faster and faster. Time would deliver to him what he desired, all he had to do was keep maintaining his pace, and it would bring him results.

Xenon's journal was actually quite packed with information, it was just that very few people would actually find most of this information important. He wrote down anything and everything that came to mind to write down. A note here, a fact there, must remember to get milk, it was so varied and unsorted that only he himself could find a particular piece of data with any sort of speed. The reason why he kept it? Well if you asked him he would of course say "What Journal?"

Xenon frowned. His lack of energy was getting to him, but he refused to fall short of his little goal. As soon as he finished 2 more successful falls, he'd eat, in fact it was because he was low on a energy and hungry that these last two were so important. You didn't always have a full stomach or well rested body when battle came upon you, you had to be ready to fight under any condition. So for all his stomach's complaints he would not budge. There was no way he'd eat until he was finished here...

Xenon stood once more atop the branch, his eyes narrowed and his expression determined Well...here went nothing...

He'd barely made it, but made it he had, his stood not showing it, but pleased with himself. As he scaled the tree for what he hoped would be the final time before some lunch, he looked out er...up or....well you know he was walking at a vertical angle and turned his head in what normally would have been an upwardly direction. The Training fields were actually among the more peaceful places in the village, so long as someone didn't happen to be practicing loud and violent jutsu. But even then, the grounds were very large, so as accommodate for those who wanted to mediate, and those that wanted to see if they could burn down half a forest.

H reached the branch and gathered a hand ful of leaves as he walked along the branches side. Finally he faced downward, defying gravity with chakra, and let the leaves go...

Training Complete

Xenon pushed off the branch, his eyes glowing with chakra as he struck the first and second leaves almost at once. Twisting his body around he hit two more with the same hand, his other reposing and finally striking one that was almost out of reach. His fingers smote three more as he fell, but his eyes widened ever so slightly, the final two were so close to the ground, could he make it time... even if he hit them, could ha manage the time to land properly after wards. He tightened his muscles thrust out both his arms, hit finger brushing each leaf, before tucking under and rolling unto the ground.

He came to stop in a knelt position, one knee on the ground. He smiled triumphantly. "Aces..." his stomach growled and he stood up with carefree smile "Yes, yes, I hear you..."

Rosie got back to the task at hand. She punched the tree once more causing the branches to once again shutter and spill it's bounty apon her. Rosie picked five leafs from the top of the tree. Honing in on all five. They were falling at differant speeds which cause this to be most difficult, as her senses refused to lock on to all five at the same time. So she stoped trying so hard she just let her body guide itself. She didn't know why but her body urged her to reach out and grasp the air in front of her. So she did so, and low and behold she grasped a dried dead leaf. It crumbled and crunched in her grasp, but that didn't stop the fact that she had done what had been required for the first leaf. Releasing her grasp on the crumbs she blew into her hand. Sending the shards of the leafs tumbling to the ground. She smiled although she didn't know why. She was happy, but it was an unexplainable happy.

The next leaf however did not go as well as planned. As she reached out to grab it as her body told her to, she was disapointed to find only air. Her body was wrong? That was odd, her speach was off often, and she stumbled in step sometime. And true she may have dropped a large pile of dishes at Rima's shoppe... And there was that time that she had fallen into a rather large hole that her body hadn't picked up on... Actualy to more she thought about it the less is seemed unlikely and the more it seemed that she had just been incorect once again. Rosie let her empty hand fall opening her fingers so they were ready to once more strike at the air. The leaves that were falling were no longer from her punch, but ones that would have naturaly fallen off in time. Maybe this is what she needed. Nature to blend with nature. Her body to flow with natures will.

It seemed the more Rosie moved, the more the air current wirled the leafs in movements her intincts were not yet fast enought to react to. The leafs just tumbled past her grasp. Slipping thru her fingers, and causing a bit of frustration in the younge girl. Not even thinking about in anymore Rosie wirled about clenching at the air, desperate to catch a leaf in her grubby fingers. "For jack's sake... What is with the darshed leafers?" Rosie muttered finally giving up and pouting. Oh how she wished she could see. The norms probobly had no problem with this drill. They could just calculate and react. Rosie, however, not she. She had to wait for her stupid body to work on it's own. To have her damn instics kick in and tell her what to do. She was numb to it now, but even still. She wished that she understood her curse. She wish she had someone who could relate, someone else with a condition like hers. But the only place that could be found was in Iwa with the rest of her clan.

Rosie stood in wait for the leaves to continue their fall, but to her amazement none did. for one thing this was odd because she was sure she hadn't exhausted the leaves from the tree already. Lowering her body Rosie padded the ground around her feet, there were leaves yes, but no where near enough to count for the entire tree. Odd... Rosie gze remain stationary on the tree she steched one hand out to gently touch trunk of the tree. Her finger tips pressed against the rough exterior chipping small pieces of the bark off the tree. Taking a step back Rosie readied herself. Her heart beat was raised to the little bit of exersize she had gone about earlier. Her goal was ten leavs, and so far she had only managed a measly four. She was failing right now, and she couldn't be failing. Not if she was about to fallow through with her rash dissition.

Rosie forced her fist forward, stricking the tree, causing an unheard rattle above her head. A rattle but nothing more. No flurry of leaves, no cascade of falling treebits, just an unheard noise above the girl. Withdrawing her hand Rosie looked, almost in anger. Why was nothing happening? It still had leaves to give. In frustration rosie gave the tree a stupid little kick moving on to the next. If she had truely used up the entire tree then she was waisting her time. She cound't afford to waist she had a mission. Personal as it was, it still had a deadline, and she could not afford to miss the deadline.

(Dude, you can't do that... eek can you?)

Xenon was perfectly still, his eyes closed. His coat was hung on a branch of the tree he now stood at the pinnacle of, chakra supporting his balance. As it billowed occasionally in the gentle breeze, Xenon himself seemed completely unreachable, his expression such that he appeared to be asleep. Yet he opened his eyes suddenly, their golden color glaring in the sun.

'This is it...from here on out I will not stop until I can train no more... or until I meet my goal... this is my determination...' he then released the leaves clutched in his left hand... and fell back, his eyes glowing in his habit as he turned them intensely...

He hit four of the leaves only to have the rest caught by a wind and taken out of reach. He cursed as he landed, looking up after the departing targets. Well that wasn't the best start... but oh well...he'd already known he'd have to be patient. He started to scale the tree again.

Kimiko was staring at the rock...

The rock stared back...

Kimiko's eyes became fierce...

The rock seemed unphased, even in the face of her fury.

Kimiko's eyes burned with an intense passion...

The rock was still unmoved... it's immaculate stare unflinching...

Kimiko twitched an eyebrow. A formidable opponent.
*Exit Dramatic mode*

Kimiko was sitting in front of a rock, the scroll she'd gotten from the library spread behind her. She'd been studying them for a little but and after some deliberation decided to focus on the Henge first, as it seemed like it would be the one most annoying and she wanted it out of the way. The goal was simple, simply use the justu to take the form of an object... in this case the rock. She knew she wasn't the best with jutsu, but she suspected she was ready to try. He pointed at the rock with a intense fire in her glare "You shall be defeated!"

Henge no Jutsu:
I decided to use this skill as the first Jutsu to learn. The children's determination will flow faster if I introduce a Jutsu to them first. During this exercise, I used these rules:
Roll a 1d20. You must get an 11 or higher to successfully complete hand seal and transform into a crude image of the object. (We used a large stone) It was required of each student to successfully attempt this 5 times for the first day of training.
I had each student post the following stats with each training post;
Cp:
Train: ?/5
Experience: ?/100
If a student successfully performed the jutsu, he was awarded +1 Experience and -2Cp. If a student failed an attempt, he would lose -1Cp. To regain Cp they had to rest for one post to gain back +2Cp.
Part II
The final part of the training is done much like the first. I picked an object for the students to transform into, by using the seal of the tiger or sheep, they would transform. After they did their transformation, I would make them hold it for 2 minutes.
Cp: -2 for succesful transformation + -1 per minute held

Xenon was far more successful this time around, he'd go so far as to say it was near flawless. He'd been able to hit each leaf twice that time, far surpassing his expectation for the exercise. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, standing for awhile in the sun. He looked up at he tree with a small gleam of consideration. "Hmm...I wonder...perhaps when this is over I should find a way to compensate you for the leaves..." he chuckled light hearted "I'll give that some thought I suppose." He jumped and hit the trunk, his feet filling with chakra.

Kimiko put her hands together "Henge!" There was a burst of smoke, and when it cleared... Kimiko was coughing. She waved the smoke from her face, his eyes watering from the haze. "Ahhh! Stupid jutsu! what did I do wrong!" She took up the scroll her eyes going over it again. This was just great... this was going to be harder than she thought... she could just see Maboroshi getting this flawlessly his first try... she couldn't fail!

Kimiko had entered one of her moods, and nothing was going to stop her. Food HA! Who needed it. Water? She wasn't a fish! She would go through till this jutsu was mastered...or till she ran out of chakra...

Xenon sighed slightly less pleased when he landed. He'd missed two that time, he'd made a stupid mistake again... a mistake he couldn't afford in a battle... such things were not befitting his expectation... he had to keep at it... even if he'd shown great promise, he was still not ready for what he had in mind... he cracked his neck and started up the tree. His training was still far from over... and he was expecting many more slips like this...getting upset about them would only postpone his success...

As he reached his appointed branch and gathered the leaves he gave a them a toss and dove after them, his eyes glinting...

Another failure. Kimiko shouted angrily at nothing particular. "OOOOH!!! Stupid jutsu! Why won't you work! ARRGH! Don't you know I'm a champion of justice! Champions of justice are supposed to be awesome at anything! This should be no exception!" she started hitting the rock childishly "OOOOOO!!!" she huffed 'Okay Kimiko calm down...you just have to focus...concentrate on completing the jutsu not getting angry... I must take my passion and use it toward my inevitable goal!' She was nodding her eyes on fire with drama.

Xenon's life certainly had gotten eventful the past few weeks... what with having to instruct himself, going on a D-rank mission as an Academy student, mastering two D-rank Jutsu in addition to the Academy ones... then there was his recent run ins with the ever amusing Momoe-san... yes indeed... he could feel it. Something was about to happen. His life was about to take a turn forever...the one thing he didn't know was that what sort of turn that might be. Failing the Genin exams was an impossibility, that was certain, he might not be the strongest person there, but if they failed Students at his level then there'd be practically no Genin in the village he would pass, but what happened after would be the real question. Who his Sensei was, who his teammates were... all these things would change his destiny forever... he'd just have to wait an see...

The two rocks faced one another...both completely unmoving... then one burst into smoke and Kimiko sprung into the air. "HA! HA!! I did it! Yes! I knew that focusing my unstoppable passion would work!" She struck a pose "My ultimate weapon is yet unchallenged!" She started laughing loud and obnoxiously like her father. Then she seemed to snap back into it. "Now! To continue! The scroll says that it's recommending one preform the jutsu until they are confident they've mastered it..." she now rubbed the back of her neck honestly 'And I don't quite know how I did that...'

Xen... stopped... his eyes closing sternly as he hit the ground. He adjusted his posture and brushed a leaf off his gray shirt. He seemed to be taking his time with this, as though he was stalling, before finally turning his head to the person standing some distance away. The person seemed to be taking no measures to hide themselves, but they were watching him silently, unmoving, and apparently unabashed by his gaze.

'It's that one again...' Oh yes...he'd seen this person before. On several occasions in fact, and it was becoming quite the mystery. The last time Xen had seen this person, he'd been out late, walking back from the academy after some late studying. They'd followed him the whole way to his apartment, gave a bow...and then left. Indeed the cloaked stranger always bowed when they finally left, this was one of the many consistencies that all their visits had in common... at least they were polite about their stalking... he returned to his training. The person wouldn't bother him, they never did...

Kimiko sighed dramatic ghost lights hovering around her head. 'Ohhhh why can't I just get this just like I did the others...why can't it be easy...' she sighed still facing the ground. 'I could go ask Maboroshi for some advice...but I can just see the look on his face, especially after I said I didn't need his help...' she clenched her fists "Damn it... I can't let this one jutsu beat me... no way...I learned the others and I'll learn this one. I've just got to work out the kinks... If I can do it once I can do it again... okay...so what did I do that time... I-' she went off into thought, trying to discern where she was going wrong. The chakra flow? The hand sign... she explored each option mentally, still staring at the rock or the ground alternatively.

Xenon landed successful... but his attention returned to the stranger.

There were several traits about this stranger he had to go on... or, perhaps they were more running trends they displayed. First of all, they only ever appeared when he was alone. Not once, in all the times he appeared, did they take the chance of another person seeing them. If another person did show up, the figure would make themselves scarce until the person left, then show themselves again. Secondly, he was fairly certain it was the same person, and not more than one in the same cloak. Their height and even the way they moved was always the same, coupled with their gestures and behavior, he had no doubts, call it a feeling.

She shook her head. No, No, that wasn't it... she rested her elbow on her knee and he chin in the palm of her hand. 'Ohhh, this is way harder than I thought it'd be... why do we have to learn this stupid disguise jutsu any way!? A real champion of justice doesn't have to disguise themselves! Stealth is one thing, but disguise is just cowardly!" she nodded to herself...then sighed "But the academy probably won't listen to that...no matter how strong I get before the exams, if I don't know this jutsu they won't let me pass..." she let her face slide down he hand depressed "This is so unfair..."

Another success... and still the stranger watched on. The third trait about this person, whoever they were... was that every time they appeared, in addition to bowing, they always stayed far enough away so that he couldn't see their face. On the last occasion, having long decided this person intended him no harm, which would be discussed next, he'd actually attempted to approach the stranger. Not only did the stranger still not talk, another consistency, but they backed away once he had closed a certain distance. He would walk forward, they'd walk back... he'd walk away, they would follow him. Fourthly, whatever their reasons for appearing, they didn't mean him harm.

Kimiko smiled. She was tired now and she'd have to rest, but she had finally started to make some progress on the jutsu. She still wasn't entirely sure she had it right, but it was moving along. She laid back as the jutsu dispersed and looked directly up at the sky. It was...so blue today. She closed her eyes trying to regain chakra swiftly, her face becoming peaceful as he musing thought carried her closer and closer to a lazy slumber. Not a deep sleep mind you, but light one just enough to allow her to dream... and dream she did...

Xenon didn't go back up into the tree this time...not right away. He merely dropped three leaves he'd grabbed int he air and hit each one as fell, his eyes locked on the stranger.

He'd admit when, those years ago, he'd first seen the stranger walking along the road behind him, he'd been afraid. However since then the stranger had appeared so many times and places, any one of them being a perfect opportunity to kill him, he couldn't really see that as their goal. What's more, one of the times they'd appeared, they'd helped him, before quickly vanishing of course. No, the truth was the figure had given off more the air of a silent guardian than anything else... but that made them all the more mysterious...

Resting Post:

Kimiko was dreaming... she dreamed she was standing alone in the center of a giant room. Throughout the room were scatter numerous broken toys, each one seemed familiar...each one seemed to stir a feeling of nostalgia within her. She took a step forward...and her foot steps echoed throughout the chamber...there was a strange atmosphere in this place, a strange feel to the air. It was almost as if the very memories this place contained hung in the dust that drifted about.. Kimiko felt very alone here...and she didn't like the feeling...suddenly though, a strange voice called her...when she looked to see the source...she saw a door she could have sworn wasn't there before...

Xenon pulled off yet another successful run...but the stranger was still there... the stranger didn't scare him anymore, but they were a mystery he often pondered over. Who were they? Why him? Was it just him? All the people with a connection to him outside the village was dead...unless... perhaps he'd had a family member he wasn't aware of... after all, he discovered in his time at the library some time ago that Sujin was a member of his scattered clan...could it be that that was it? Was this stranger some lost member of his clan? If so how had they tracked him down... well...dead again, it probably wouldn't have been hard.

He put himself in the foot steps of one trying to track down sleeping members of the Maboroshi clan...

Resting Post:

Kimiko opened the door, finding only darkness... there was no sign of the person who called her... no sign of anyone... then... the darkness spoke. "There is nothing here... nothing for you... there are nothing but broken trinkets...you know the truth... you know your destiny!!!"

Kimiko eyes were wide "I...who are you? I don't know what you're talking about..."

"Of course you do mother...you've always known... that was why your parents tried to kill you...but don't worry mother...they're gone forever now."

Kimiko backed away "No...you...I don't know what you're talking about...why are you calling me mother!?"

"Because you are...Mother. You are my Mother, my creator, my master, my soul mate...and I..." inside the darkness...an object appeared amidst the shadow...
