Typhoon_Omi Yeah, but in this case? Xiushu: i got water lol [forms it into ice needles.] lol ["Minipulates" them into diamond needles.] LOL! No explanation involved. That wasn't really what my post was directed to. This was: Caelorum I don't believe it is physically possible to ever make one element out of entirely different elements. Like, you can't turn Hydrogen into Carbon. Carbon has to be introduced somewhere, either in another compound or element, and the resulting reaction could have a product that dumps the Carbon off. Also Caelorum while it is a very intensive and exhaustive process it is also very common. There is a reason why stars are often called nuclear furnaces. But beyond that I was just saying to remind everyone that it is possible with the right conditions, conditions that were sorely not met in even the slightest of possible ways by that IC post.

Okay, now I don't know about combining H or O to form C in any way I do know that you could combine up the periodic table from H to get to C. But I think, key word, it's usually done with the same type of element slamming into each other.

Like from the same family? That makes sense, too. Interesting stuff, but it's easy for me to get lost. I still look forward to all the Chemistry, Physics, and such I'll need for engineering. If I can pay attention and stay on track.

I never had a mind for that math aspect, but I love it none the less. Doing political science but I plan on going as far as I can in physics as I can because I'll be damn if I get a bachelor of arts degree instead of a bachelor of science.

Seeing as mine opponent is going to bungle onwards and not acknowledge any previous events save his own, I'm going to hold off until tomorrow's last possible moment before responding.

Dreslin Reason for question: Xushin Rex's wids would swirl and become particals of water dotted around the man as Rex was slightly interuppted by the mans breath. He would try to ignore it as he would make the water particals into needles of ice. He would further minipulate them into diamonds as diamons were the strongest mineral. He pointed his index finger at the man and smirked as the needles would shott off at the man a half second after one another. "Dance of 1000 needles." It's transmutation, dumbass. Transmutation is magic. Read my sig. Caelorum Then, he seemingly bypassed it anyway by calling the attack "ice needles" after he supposedly made diamonds. Even the last few lines say "as the needles would shott off..." Not to mention the bad grammar and context at all. I guess you don't need to be a grammar nazi in a fighting RP tournament, but for the sake of clarity a post should be generally clean. He never once called them "ice needles" after turning the ice to diamonds. He called them "needles", but needles can be made out of diamond too.

Then let that be his reason if Xushin says his character can use magic to that degree. I was under the impression that Xushin's character only had water-manipulation, and a sole water-manipulater would have no reason to make actual diamonds from ice.
Most likely, I personally wouldn't have noticed the fact that he made diamonds from ice, involving the water to carbon conversion. I probably would have my character simply act the same way in either case, ice or diamond. Dodge, deflect, whatever. It does not really change the substance of the attack except maybe that some armor which ice needles could not penetrate, diamond needles could.
But since Dreslin pointed it out, it gave us something to chew on.

Diamond is hard, not tough. It will not scratch, but a good deal of armor of force and bam shatter.

Exactly why, diamond would make a poor armor - but make an excellent, if done right, light weapon. A diamond rapier'd be the s**t. =P

Diamond is one of the hardest metals (If not THE hardest metal) known to man.

Dr.Nightz Diamond is one of the hardest metals (If not THE hardest metal) known to man. Hard, not tough, and no carbon allotroped nanorods are harder and I believe tougher. Hardness is the ability to resist scratching, not FORCE.
