*Chris walked with Jen down some paths into the nearby forest. A waterfall spilled over some rocks and down into a pool. Chris swallowed hard. He did almost the same exact thing to Jen that Cassie did to him. He had to own up to it.*
So...I'm a pretty big screwup. I thought...if I could find a really pretty and cool girl to date that I could get over Cassie. So I did.When I realized it didn't work like that, I did something even worse. I got Billy to cast a spell on me to vanish my feelings for Cassie. I thought you deserved someone who could concentrate totally on you and that was how to get to be that person.
Except...it didn't work. The spell just walled off my feelings. Jen, I have done you a horrible wrong. You're a great person and you deserve a great guy who loves you. But I'm not him. I'm sorry.
I know it's cliche...and you probably don't want to hear it but I still want to be your friend. I think you are really cool and we like so much of the same stuff. But if you'd rather smash me, well I get that. But I really am sorry.

"You had a spell cast on you?" Jen said. "I thought something was weird...you were too happy."
Jen thought of what else to say, she was starting to feel a little angry, was she not good enough that he had to use magic to be with her? It was probably better they were breaking up.
"Listen, Chris, I sort of saw you and Cassie on the beach yesterday. You were holding hands and whispering to each other...I sort of figured it out yesterday." Jen tried to not cry...it wasn't love with them yet but it was still sad and it hurt that he had even two-timed her. "I'm sure I can be friends with you at some point...but just now...don't ever show your face or I will smash it across the state!"
She turned and ran back to the hotel. She didn't have the heart to even turn into She-Hulk and smash him, there was more to her than just smashing things. She wanted to say something else about being a jerk about using magic with love..but she might end up crying so she just kept running. At least it was over now and she could go back to Karen and try to find something fun to do that didn't involve Powell.
She was also sure she wasn't going to be the only one suffering.

*Sighing, Chris sat down and dangled his feet in the warm pool of water. That was horrible. He couldn't believe he did the same thing that hurt him so. He wished he could make it up to Jen...*
I hope Cassie's conversation goes smoother.
*Chris skimmed some rocks across the pool. Wednesday was the wrestling tournament. He wanted to be there to support his friends but after this, Jen wouldn't want him anywhere near her. Maybe he could watch from the stands and be invisible.*

Where was Wally? Did he just not hear her knocking at his door? Was he out? This was confusing... Cassie just wanted to get the whole thing off her chest. She sat down in front of the door... Before she knew it Cassie fell asleep... right outside of Wally's door.

Jen got back to her room and slammed it shut. She instantly transformed back to her She-Hulk and the door cracked a little.
"That's me and Chris over...the bad shrimp has been taken care of." She slunk down. "I really have bad luck with men, Karen cheer me up!" She leaned her head back against the wall. "I really just want to forget about him."

Karen hd just stepped out of the shower room, towelling off her hair when Jen returned. She didn't have to say a word, her face said it all.
That idiot. He really did it. After everything... I sure hope he feels good now. Damn teenage hormones. Linda was wrong. it may have been romantic.. just not for the other side.
Tossing the towel a side, Karen wraps her big arms around Jen's little frame, giving her a long hug, strokeing her back soothingly.
"How about I call that room service now... Something tells me they don't card in Paradise."
Dialing up the phone she orders two large bowels of chocolate ice cream and a case of beer. Then calls them again and tell then to keep the chocolate ice cream coming.

Jen smiled weakly. "Yeah bring on the ice-cream and hopefully some eye-candy. I was played a total sucker by that Powell, don't ever let me call him his first name again."
Jen jumped up and turned on the radio. "Now let's hope they don't play any love songs..."

The bare feet stopped at Cassandra's sleeping form and the goddess Thetis, looked down at the girl. She had been on her way to visit her son, knowing that Patroclus had been returned to Troy, and a mother's instinct told her he was going to be devastated. Thetis smiled down at her 'step-daughter' and saw what seemed to be spilled photographs that seemingly slipped from her pocket. She had known Cassie had made an album for Achilles and Patroclus to remember that special day by, but Patroclus had been returned before he could have even seen them. It was then an idea came to her, and a smile found its way on her worried face. She reached down and gently slipped the envelopes into her hands and vanished before Cassie would wake up.

Cassie woke up to find a note in her hand.
Dear Cassie -
If there's one thing the gossips of our school are good for, it's delivering bad news. I opened my heart to you, and lately you've been treating me like I have the plague. Now I know why.
You don't get a tearful face to face breakup. You don't get to see me wounded or upset. You don't even get a text message. This is all you get - I'm breaking up with you. You don't deserve me.
If I see you 'round, which won't be often because I can be pretty good at avoiding people, don't expect me to even mention the last few weeks. I deserved better than to be your tool to 'punish' Chris. When you two were together, I knew you were always checking me out. I saw how you blushed when we talked. I thought it meant something that it obviously didn't. All I hope now is that I can repair my friendship with Chris, because neither of us deserved to be used the way you used us.

Cassie looked at the note. She wasn't surprised... she guessed Chris beat her to it in telling Jen. It didn't matter what she did, someone would get hurt, it sucked but it was true. Cassie sighed as she noticed the pictures from the wedding she had in her pocket were missing. Good thing she had extras on her laptop. Wally was right... he deserved better, he deserved to be with someone who loved him. But that wasn't Cassie. She crumpled up the note and threw it in trash figuring Wally would get over it. School was starting soon and the vacation to Hawaii, though short, was nice. She went to her room to pack up and leave. The wrestling meet was coming up soon and it would be a good way to let out some fustrations. She went over to Achilles door and knocked on it to see if he was ready to leave.

Somewhere in Chicago... Linda Park was packing her bags. School would be starting soon and she had to beat out Hero High's top reporter... Lois Lane. Little Miss Lane was so good that even other schools read her stories including the one Linda was attending. Stories about Super boy and speedsters and green people... foolishness! Linda was going to expose Lois for the fraud she was... and even if her stories were true then Linda wanted to beat her to punch.
With her bags packed Linda looked at a camcorder that she had gotten as a Christmas present. Being on television... a news reporter.. now that would be awesome! But Hero High didn't have a broadcast news station, not even an a/v club. Linda sighed.... oh well beating Lois would have to do. Once Linda beat Lois to the front page ... victory would be so sweet. Linda looked in her mirror and smiled as she combed back a few locks of hair with her right hand.
" Move over Lois Lane... cause that front page is mine."
Linda smiled as she looked down at a flyer about the wrestling meet which was taking place right before school started... She was so gonna be there.

"He has a first name? Huh....always thought it was Dweeb..." She was joking of course. Chris was one of her better friends. And a good one at that. Once Jen got over her heart break she would understand that. For now, it was the "bro's before hoes." deal. Jen needed her more.
She decided not to talk about him anymore as she didn't want to upset Jen anymore then she was. Thankfull the Beer and Chocolate Ice cream arrived!! With Room service boys!!
"Any eye candy is a positive." She smiles at the boys who bring the food. But alas they cannot stay long.
After they leave Karen Jumps on the bed repeatedly, taking in spoonfuls of ice cream as she speaks.
"Oh! I just got a great idea!! Did you know Mysia can fly! Not like Dumbo or anything, but she can give us a ride home!! What do ya say?!" She hops off the bed bolting to the window, sticking her head out she whistles as such a low decible that only specific animal can hear her. Mysia being one of them!
"Hey girl!! How would you like to go for a ride?!" She grins wildly as the elephant who just blows air at her with her massive trunk..
Karen stick her hand out, the other holding a beer, and want to help Jen on to Mysia's back.

Anakin had just returned to Earth... really winter vacation was just a break for him as he didn't exactly celebrate Christmas. He unpacked a few things in his dorm at Jedi Academy and decided to call up Karen. It was great to be away from this planet but not so great to be away from her. He spent most of his time training with Obi-Wan .. still Karen was always on his mind. He hoped that she had fun during her break though.
" Hey Karen.. I'm back on earth and I wanted to see what you've been up to."
Honestly Anakin knew he would probably see Karen again at the wrestling meet but didn't want to bring it up. After all Jedi Academy was mostly there to do the clean up work.

Dani ran up behind her and gave her a hug! Not knowing what just happened between her two friends.
"That was a great wedding! So how are our two groomsmen doing?"
She thumbs to the door.
"Still sleeping after a long night." *Winks*

Looks at Dani. She didn't know... she had no idea that things weren't so good between her, Wally, and Chris. Dani had no idea that Pat had to go back to his own time and Achilles was now all alone. She.... had no idea..Cassie turned to Dani and hugged her tightly....
" Things.... are all messed up... In both a good and a bad way"
Cassie sniffles and wipes her eyes.
' But I'm glad your here... Let's go somewhere and I'll explain. See, Achilles needs to be alone right now and both him and Wally are really going to need you"
As they started to walk away Cassie explained to Dani about what happened to Pat, what happened with her and Chris, and the note Wally left her.
"Sometimes I wish things were simple. Why can't you just meet the person you're meant to be with and stay with them forever instead of constantly questioning and being confused....? I'm not confused anymore. I don't regret my choice... I just wish I didn't hurt Wally in process...I'm sure Jen's hurt too. I also wish Pat didn't have to leave Achilles."
