aria di luce redentrice japanese, music theory level one (again...unfortunately my taking the same course in high school doesn't matter... level two should be new...but that's next year.), and a trig class to make me full time for the health benefits. college is easy. Oh yah? Tell me the harmonic scale for Db (d flat) Go. Edit:Actually...make it a double harmonic. Now go.

I'm a little jealous about the Japanese and Music Theory classes. We don't have them at our High School.
I'm a sophomore and I am in Algebra 2 right now, so I should be in either Pre-Calc or Calc by my senior year.
Is it easy? I hope so, lol, I have twelve years of it after High School :]
@ Picasso: I could tell you the Harmonic, but not double. I don't know what that means.

it's non western music.
D, Db, gb, g, A, Bb Db, D or something like that.
first year music theory is mostly western things, mostly pre-romantic. i am majoring in composition though, so i pick stuff up from out of school too.
what's confusing is that i think you mean the harmonic scale for electronic music, not the harmonic minor scale, which most people would assume you mean. for the first one, that is.
that would be a trick question though.

I thought she meant Harmonic Minor because that's the only Harmonic I know xD. I need to take a class for this stuff, lol.

I'm talking about the arabic scale which would be 1st, flat 2nd, major 3rd, perfect 4th, 5th, minor 6th, and then 7th and 8th. At least i think that is a double harmonic. Don't call me on it though; I'm rusty on my music theory.

i'm also talking about the arabic scale, which is symetrical according to it's fifth and tonic, and includes two augmented seconds. that would be the double harmonic. otherwise you have to specify minor, because a harmonic scale (not double harmonic, or harmonic minor) has 144 notes between tonics. it's a b^tch to right out.
except i typoed. the db is an eb. it doesn't go down there.

it would help. you don't need the "harmonic scale" it's rather discussing anyways, and only practical on a device made to create it. the Arabic scale could be useful to know though.
tonic-half step – augmented second – half step– whole step– half step– augmented second – half back into tonic. symmetrical.

Okay. I know the Arabic somewhat, we had to learn it in Concert Band for a piece we were doing.
I learned some of the basics to help me solo on my Bass and to help with creating better riffs, but the harmonic scale...that's the one I was wondering about. It's crazy xD.

it requires a modulation wheel and a keyboard. aka, not possible unless you are on a synth keyboard with a modulation wheel.
or are really good at re-tuning a guitar while playing it.

Yeah. I tune by ear, thanks to Music since I was a baby. I've been playing Clarinet since I was Ten. So yeah, I can tune by ear. Why?
As for the Keyboard, it sounds like I don't even want to get into that sort of thing, but If I learned how to do it, I could impress some music teachers xD
