Minerva gave Xeen a nasty look that said something along the lines of scoff at me again and you'll get your skinny little a** pounded into the concrete.
"Mhmm, yeah yeah, the whole 'we need each other' you said, what I want to know is what are you going to bring to the table? As far as I know, nobody here knows where Locke is, and we are also unaware of his capabilities...however you seem to have mentioned some knowledge of his powers earlier..so tell us Soltari what is do you know of Locke's current state? Do you know anything about his position? And do you know anyway to take him down?"

Sahira moved down another alley. She didn't know where she was going, but she didn't particularly care, so long as it was somewhere away from the twisted debacle that was the war of krovh.

She stopped in her tracks as another person entered the other end of the alley. It didn't take her long to recognize Ruby, nor did it take Ruby long to recognize her. They stared across at each other for a good thirty seconds before Ruby finally spoke.

"You gonna try an' kill me?"

Sahira shook her head, "No. That job was already...taken care of."

"Why'd you try an' do it in the first place?" Ruby asked. She looked awful, Sahira noted, like she hadn't slept in days, and she moved in a slightly jerking motion, like a scared animal, or someone just escaping a Mahradi war prison.

"It was an order, nothing personal, and I've decided I no longer follow that pattern of command. Are you all right?" She asked Ruby.

Ruby nodded, "I'm fine."

Sahira shook her head. "No you're not." Ruby had a glazed look in her eyes, one that Sahira recognized, and though her training, and all the sense in the world yelled at her to leave Ruby there, she knew she couldn't do it, not now. "You're not fit to go anywhere. Come on, my place is down the street a ways, if it's not blown up or something." Sahira hooked her arm in Ruby's encouraging the redhead along. "I mean it, red, come on. If you don't come I'll stab you again and carry you back over my shoulder."

Ruby's eyes widened and she jerked away from Sahira, who started chuckling. "I was kidding, kid, come on. You're jumpier than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs, excuse the cliche, couldn't help it." Sahira took Ruby's arm again, and dragged her out of the alley.

Arch stared at Xeen.

""Wheah's Ruby?" He asked the Seer, glancing over at him.

/Safe, nearby. She's in a home/

"Staih neah 'ehr. Wahtch 'ehr, maihke suah sheh donnah giht 'uhrt." Arch turned back to Xeen. "Aye, iffhn' Jehric's agreed, wehl taihke whaht e'hlp yeh cahn bieh gihvihn."

Minerva's glance turned to Bolton as she waited to hear what the plan would be.

Her mind wandered slightly as she turned her gaze over Bobby, Eldst, SL and the Chief. She couldn't hold back a slight smirk as she realized the cat was gone, but she wasn't too surprised.

Minerva gave Jehric an approving nod. She didn't like Xeen either, not one little bit, but sacrifices needed to be made, and there was always a chance to strike back at Soltari after Locke was dealt with.

She glanced at Arch and raised a curious eyebrow. "Can we really spare the manpower, keeping the seer focused on Ruby? No offense, sir, and you know I have nothing against the girl, but the seer would be of more use to all of us, Ruby included, finding and defeating Locke. I assume she's in no immediate danger, but if you're looking for a guard, the seer is a bit overkill. You could easily send one or two of us to watch over her instead." She motioned to the group with them, Bobby, Silent Lucidity, the Chief, Eldst, and whoever else had gathered that I am currently forgetting.

Min gave a satisfied nod. "If half the stories I've heard are true, anyone willing to guard Ruby is no coward Chief." She gave a small salute, "good luck with you."

She turned to the others, "then I suppose we now go and kill Locke, and I suggest we do it quickly, though I'm sure such was already in everyone's mind."

((when I started reading "The Chief's mind was quickly filled with Images of Sahira and Ruby in the room" for some reason I interpreted it as dirty images and was quite shocked...until I finished the sentence and realized the Seer had sent them to him.))

"And you planned on walking all the way to Mississippi, from here?" Sahira asked to be clear. Then shook her head softly, at Ruby's slight nod. "Drink up the rest of your tea." She instructed and stood up to go put her own empty mug in the sink across the room. It was a small apartment, the kitchen sharing space with the main room, but Sahira kept it not only religiously clean, but had a knack for innovative and unique decorations. She liked sparkly things, a trait she found Ruby seemed to share, as the redhead stared at a strand of crystals clinking in the window.
