Rin leaned against a wall for support, and took all the weight off of her ankle. She decided to ask the favor, "If something happens to me, will you two take care of my children?" Meaning, she felt it was quite possible that Asher would kill her. Knowing someone was there to watch her babies, she could be a little braver in standing up for herself. "And, I know he is your friend, but please don't let him with them alone." It was a lot to ask, and she could go to someone else if they wouldn't help her. However, it seemed that Anita and JC would stand the best chance of fending Asher off from harming her babies.
JC looked to Anita as Rin talked, he couldn't believe that the Asher the instilled this much fear in her was the same he had known for centuries. He was not sure exactly what to say, "We'll keep them safe, but Rin...I know half of the story and that you have been though a lot, and you might not believe me, but you and the children are not in danger." Seeing how much the female did not believe him he looked back to Anita says, "Should I go talk to Asher again and leave Rin to you?" Anita may not know Asher as long as he did, but she knew a lot and might be able to comfort the feline.

Anita looked to JC. What changed Asher? Even Anita was a little afraid of him, but she had far different reasons to fear him then Rin did. "The children aren't in any danger." That much was true but Anita decided to humor the stressed feline. "We'll look after them..." Goodie...Anita didn't like kids and here she was looking after kids.
Asher curled up, running his hand in his hair. If it wasn't him that upset her, then what did upset Rin that she wouldn't tell him? His head met the wall as he stared openly. What happened to him? He knew he was depressive but to actually hurt someone like he did Rin? Pink tinged tears streaked his face.
He was assuming Rin would leave him, take the children...he wouldn't blame her because he was the one who drove her there. Now, even sex wouldn't help his emotional state.

JC put the children he was holding, careful to try not to disturb them. Nodding to Anita he looked to Rin and told her, "I am going to talk to him again, and then you'll come with me and talk to him, alright?" Watching her pale at the idea of talking with Asher he quickly added before he lost her trust, "I'll be there, he can't touch you while I am there." He then took his leave, up the stairs and into the room where Asher was.
He didn't have to see the tears to know his friend was deeply upset, "Asher, she’s going to talk to you, but first I am." He desperately hoped that they could work it out, and to find out what the hell had happed to the man he knew.
Rin swallowed hard as she watched JC head back up the stairs where her nightmare was. Rin confided in Anita "He scares me so much, thank you for agreeing to take care of my children. I can't even protect them now, besides getting them away from here." No matter what JC how can she risk her and her children's lives with a time bomb?

Asher shook his head. "She doesn't trust me...she doesn't care..." He sighed, whiping at his tears as he gripped his own arms. "I lost control...She was upset, she wouldn't talk, I lost control simply for helping someone out." He was guilty. Guilty of trying to see Jin to catch up with his feline friend, finding Alexis and trying to help her out, of harming Rin.....Everything.
Anita's tail twitched. There wasn't anything she could say so she stayed quiet. "Care to sit down so you can get ice on that ankle?"

JC approaches Asher, "After the way you treated her, I don't blame her." He had to be careful, not too nice but not too hard in order to try and get things fix, "First off, accusing and blaming her won't fix anything. What happened to you, my friend?" He asked the question that had to be answered. JC would not feel comfortable leaving Rin alone with Asher or the childrin if this problem isn't fixed.
Rin blinked coughing hard but doing what she could not to wake her children, nodding, she found a seat and said, "In the bathroom to the left, there is a strong cough medicine and some advil, would you mind getting the both for me and something to drink with the ice?" She felt guilty asking and would take care of it herself if Anita rejected.

Anita left for the advil, coffee, cough medicine, ice and a nice brace if she could find one. The coffee was for herself. If she had to deal with naughty vampires, well she assumed her other problems were around too. She put the brace on Rin's ankle before handing her water and advil, putting the ice on the bandaged ankle. "Can I ask you something?" She asked. It may not have been her business but if it helped with asher, she was going to ask.
Asher shook his head. "I don't know. I don't know what's wrong with me..."

Rin took the meds and water with a grateful smile. "Thank you." taking the painkillers and cough suppressants, she nodded and said, "Sure, what do you want to ask?" She was sure she had a clue what it was, but she didn't know the answer herself. Her brain was still puzzling over what had ticked Asher off and made him explode on her.
JC coils near his friend and says, "We have to find out what happened, I know you and Rin work through this. Trust can be regained, we both know that." Asher had hated him and blamed him for Julianna's death for ages. Asher finally forgave him and a trust and friendship regrew between them. Asher's done it before, he can do it again. He had his experince as well, when Anita betrayed him to Mr. Oliver and nearly caused his deaht, he should have never trusted her again, broken away from her, but he loved her too much. Did Asher and Rin know that level of love?

Anita asked away. "What had you so angry to begin with? Before he exploded?" She sat down near Rin.
Asher shuddered from the held in guilt. "She wouldn't speak..." He looked at his blacken scales, then JC's and wondered if something about his snake half had a small part in it.

Rin looked to Anita, it wasn't the question she had expected, and she had to think back to when it happened, "Well, I was irritated by lack of sleep for one, and I'll admit, I didn't like the scent of another female on Asher. By the very scent, I knew the other person was happy but they didn't do anything. I did not want to nuzzle against another woman's scent. It was irritating but nothing a shower wouldn't fix. Yes, I wouldn't speak, but I didn't want to right then. I wanted to just be in his arms, listening to his heart not words." Romantic, comforting and reassuring silence, that all she wanted, she didn't deserve what she got but then no one deserved to be hit and shoved around.
"I didn't detect the scent of sex so I was only peeved. I never assumed he cheated on me." She stressed each word of her last statment before moving on, "Then he accused me of thinking he cheated on me, yelling at me without even taking a moment to listen to me. Thats what made me the maddest, he didn't believe I trusted in him. He made that come true." Looking to the side she sighed, how could she ever trust Asher again after what he did to her?
JC looked at Asher and told him, "Women are funny, sometimes they won't shut up, and other times they don't want to talk. Did you tell her that it was irritating you? You know, without accusing her of anything?" Talking was normaly the best solution. Was that the problem between them, no communcaition.

Asher shook his head. "That's just it. I didn't think. I reacted."
Anita watched her. "Couldn't you have said something to him when he asked?" She wasn't defending Asher's hide but she wasn't against him either. "Even suggest he take a shower?" She even wondered if she should be the one to tell Rin what she knew of Asher's past..

JC sighed softy, and spoke, "That would be the problem, and you have a brain and should use it." Going for the meat of what he wanted to get accomplished, "Do you trust yourself to think and not hurt her?" If he couldn't trust himself, then he didn't think it was possible for Rin to be persuaded to do it.
Rin instantly got defensive tell Anita, "Even if I accused him and yelled, I did not deserve what he did to me, I didn't deserve to be tossed around hurt." Could she trust any of them? Was it a bad idea to leave her children with them? Having had her back to the wall, and all the trauma, she couldn't help but instantly slip back into that mode of self defense. "I didn't have time to say anything and wasn't going to complain. I don't want to seem like I am keeping him here prisoner. By the time I realized I should say something, he was accusing me and I had to defend myself." She physically scooted away, ready to do the same with Anita.

Anita was only deadly when she slipped into her state of mind where she felt nothing until later. This wasn't it. "No you didn't deserve it and I'm not defending him. Asher's demanding on his own. Call it a hunch but part of it comes from being half Black Mamba. It's deadly but it's also aggressive. Asher's gone through such a time like this...In fact, that was how he and I first met."
Asher nodded. "If you and Anita stay, I can think... I don't trust myself with her alone just yet."

Rin told her before hearing the end of what she was saying, "There was never a problem before, even when I was angry enought to strike him, he was cool and gentle with me. I never felt a reason to fear him until just recently." Thats what really got her, they loved each other so much and he was always so great to her. Tilting her head to the side she questioned, "What happened?" Asher never told her anything about his past and she didn't ask. Befor now, she thought it wasn't important where they came from, just where they were going.
JC nodded, having already figured a lot of that. "Thats why I will be with her when she talks to you." It would probably take a long time for Rin to trust Asher to feed off of her. Well completely, she might surprise them both but he wasn't sure. Either way, that was a problem for another time. "You and she were apparently doing very well for a long time, without Anita and myself. I think if you two learn to communicate, and you control yourself better, you'll be back to how you were. Remember, if you have to retreat into no human expression to cool down until you can talk, then do it." His secret was to be amused by Anita; rather then let her actions anger him. One of them would be dead by now if he hadn't.

Anita started. "When I first met Asher, he was in a similar state of mind as he is now and when you hurt you. He had more restraint then and didn't have scales but hey. He was angry and hadn't forgiven Jean-Claude for what happened to him and his human servant, Julianna. Even more so Asher and JC have a longer history then that, but that's for them to talk about. For awhile he wouldn't forgive Jean-Claude about it."
Asher nodded, his arms falling to limp on his stomach from where he coiled. He felt so guilty of what he had done...

JC looked at his friend and finally said, "When your ready, I'll go get her and bring her up. We can talk if there is anything else you want off your chest before dealing with her." He waited to hear what Asher had to say, already thinking about how to play mediator.
Rin listened to what Anita had to say she tilted her head to the side, "He was a lord?" Servant was a term she connected with a lord or rich person. "Are you trying to say that he won't forgive me? I didn't do anything to him." Sighing, she decided that if they were going to play the past game, she would tell Anita where she came from, "The only person I was with before Asher was a boy I knew since I was real young. When we first got together, he was nice enough but after the first time we did it, he started to change. He hit me once because I said something that I don't remember now. Anyway, he was sorry afterwards and promised never to do it again. It was all lies, he did it again and again, and I stayed for who knows how long."
Looking at her hands then at her children she says, "I can't do that again." It was hard enough getting out the other relationship, it hurt enough to thing the man that assaulted her was the same one that had been so loving and protective.
